We had a pleasant stay at Melrose Hotel as it perfectly suited our needs. It was clean, centrally located, and the room was just spacious enough for comfort. Ultimately, our stay was made delightful by the front desk agent Shafi, who greeted us with such warmth, kindness, generosity and sincerity. He was always in the best, most upbeat and happy mood, and went out of our way to help us at every turn. We felt at home because of him. For his excellent service, we wouldn’t think twice to come back here on a future trip to Amsterdam.
Bathroom setup is a bit awkward and the water sprays everywhere when using the shower. Sometimes a musty stench indicating lack of freshness would emit from the bathroom (maybe the drain?) which was weird and unpleasant. Also, oddly, almost everyday we had to reactivate our hotel room keys. System seemed to be very glitchy. Staff though was always accommodating and efficient with handling these issues
