82 sq meter apartment in Bairro Alto, with 2 rooms: one dbl, one single and a sofa/bed for 2. Sleeps 5. LCD HD TV, with 4 sports channels, free internet and free local calls. Fully equipped with hair dryer and a Nesspresso coffee machine. The dinner table sits 6. There is an iPod stand and a radio/CD player and some English books. The street is really quiet. A second floor with good stairs, but no lift. Well decorated and cosy. Linen and towels are included except beach towels. All rooms with windows except bathroom, so there is a lot of light. Old restored building dating from the 19th century. Tiles unique to the owner family.A very typical old Portuguese building DVDs for adults and children. CENTRAL HEATING. Apartment is well located - five minutes walk to shops, supermarket and gorgeous bakery/coffee shops. Portugese cakes are fabulous!! The main town is 10 minutes walk away as is the railway station. Metro is about 5 minutes from the apartment. The police station is two doors down from the apartment so it is nice and quiet!! We loved Lisbon. Nice place to stay because we could walk everywhere.....we did not have Wifi..the issue might have been bigger then we were told....not sure???

We met our host, Aida, at the apartment, and she gave us a quick tour of the apartment and the neighborhood, which was very helpful. The apartment had everything we would need to cook, do laundry, and she even left guidebooks and umbrellas.

We spent 2 wonderful weeks using Aida’s apartment as home. The apartment was great, excellent location, excellent facilities. And Aida was an outstanding host, educating us on area restaurants, unique bars, local gardens, transportation hubs, grocery markets, etc. We highly recommend this apartment.

All the things you are looking for in a VRBO are here. I travel with my kids and she even walked us around to let us know where the essentials were. It is really an amazing location , close to metro, tram, and walking distance to so many things. The space was beautiful and clean and we really appreciated everything! Would recommended and come again for sure!

The location of this property is perfect.
We were within walking distance of all sights. The apartment is very clean and spacious and a good place to rest. We had a wonderful time here. Aida was very prompt with communication and helpful in making sure we were taken care of. I highly recommend this apartment.

Great stay in Lisbon
The flat had everything we needed for our visit. Easy walking distance to the River front and to use the Metro, Trams and Trains. Restaurants and cafes in the Square at the end of the road. Lisbon is a charming City with so many wonderful sights to see. Would definitely return.

Comfortable property. Very helpful manager
A really comfortable property with the only problem being an issue with leaking pipes in the bathroom. This I’m sure will be fixed. Central location and very helpful manager who gave us lots of tips in seeing Lisbon and using the public transport system helping to decrease costs and give us a less touristy experience. Would recommend to others.

Great place in a great location
Aida's property was ideal for our family of five - it's clean, centrally located and has comfortable furnishings (in fact, the pullout bed was the best pullout bed I've ever slept on).
It's also right on the route of the 28E, which is great for sightseeing (if you can get on it).
We had a wonderful stay.

It was spacious and close so a lots of great restaurants and shops.
It was easy to get to chiado and Rossio and the main center.
Great host who responded quickly to every question we had.

Lisbon rental property
Great location. Everything you need for a short or longer term rental. Enjoyed this property very much. I recommend this property for anyone vacationing in Lisbon. I would definitely try to stay at this property again.

Lovely apartment
This beautiful apartment allowed for three of us to have our space and be close to so many parts of Lisbon. We walked all over the area and easily accessed the metro or trolley. Our host was welcoming and helpful.

Very nice apartment
The apartment had everything we needed. Location was convenient. We were met promptly at the apartment. Keeping in mind the apartment is on a very steep street and no elevator to second floor.

Excellent flat.
This was an excellent flat for our four day stay in Lisbon. It was clean and well equipped. The welcome arrangements were fine and fitted in with our flights.
The position of the property was excellent for seeing Lisbon. Many attractions were in walking distance and there was the local novelty of catching trams and elevators when necessary. Nearby restaurants were friendly (but not pushy) and they had convenient opening times after a day of sightseeing.
The only downside was the huge numbers of tourists (of which we were 3!) which meant considerable time consuming queuing. On reflection we would try to visit such places as Belem tower later in the afternoon when the coaches may have departed. We found a quiet and uncrowded haven in the Botanical gardens which is about 25 minutes walk uphill from the flat. The Oceanario is impressive in its modern surroundings but the more historic Lisbon, such as the superb Mosteiro dos Jeronimos, is preferable.

Warm and comfortable apartment in Lisbon
We've been traveling through Europe for the past month and this is by far our most favorite apartment. Apart from being perfectly located and within walking distance to everything, the apartment has lots of natural light, big windows and a comfortable layout. The kitchen is well equipped and the grocery store just 3 short blocks away is stocked with beautiful vegetables and everything we needed for hearty breakfasts. Margarida met me on the first day and was super helpful with restaurant suggestions and a tutorial of the area. The only thing missing was a clothes dryer but, this is Portugal after all. We loved our stay here and hope to return! Thank you!

Perfect location!
This place couldn't have a better location for exploring Lisbon. The accomdations are extremely comfortable and have everything you may need. Communication was super easy and helpful too!

Well equipped with great location.
Not a drive in property. Difficult traffic. Tiny and one way streets. Expensive parking. House is good - well equipped and clean. Noisy on weekends especially. Upper apartments rent to hords of 20 somethings with nocternal leanings. Sleep impossible for days. Lovely owner.

Beautiful Property and Aida was Awesome to Work With
This property is in an excellent part of old town. You can walk every where and it is beautifully updated, comfortable and well appointed. Aida was awesome to work with. She took the time to meet us, walk around town with us and show us great restaurants, coffee shops and grocery outlets. She even pointed out the best place to buy coffee to take back to the flat. We rented a car and she showed us where to find the closest parking garage for securing it when not in use. You can find limited parking on the streets but you may have to circle around for awhile. We will keep Aida's info on hand for future trips. She made the trip memorable and comfortable for us, great lady!

Excellent Location
The apartment was very clean with a comfortable bed and lots of hot water. .Although we only
had breakfasts there, the kitchen would have been perfect for cooking larger meals.
The apartment was quiet even with the construction across the street as they were only there
during the day and we were not . The location was perfect . It was an easy walk to the train (Sintra)..trolley to Castelo Jorge, or the metro to the amazing Oceanario . Restaurants and shopping are close by .
Ask Aida to have taxi driver Jose` for your airport transfers and any other city tours .He is the best taxi driver we
have ever encountered. ..a super fellow !
Would recommend this apartment to our friends .

Très bonne acceuil et appartement conforme.
Très bon accueil d'Aida. L'emplacement est tres bon pour découvrir lisbonne. L'appartement est conforme a ka description. La climatisation est superflue aurait mérité d'être enlevée car elle est très bruyante et inefficace. L'appartement est tres bien équipée on s'y sent comme a la maison il ne manque vraiement rien c'est rare !
Petit bemol sur les portes interieur qui refusent de se fermer.

Lovely apartment in great location.
We met Aida at the flat after transfer with Jose which Aida had arranged for us. Aida showed us around the beautiful flat & explained how to use the coffee maker, washing machine etc. The flat is fully equipped with everything you need, even down to mobile phones and a Sat Nav if you need one. Aida then took us on a walk to point out various coffee shops & for us to get our bearings. We loved the Barrio Alto area, loads of cafes, bars & restaurants. The flat is in a quiet location but very close to all the night life. I can thoroughly recommend this flat, Aida had thought of everything to make our visit comfortable. Fab city & easy transport links to other areas. Thank you Aida.

Lisbon flat in great location
Overall this a a flat that has many facilities and is clean and well kept. It is located in a central location which is very convenient. However there were a few minor issues we would like to comment on. Firstly, the bathroom although clean and plenty of hot water, had trouble with drains or something and often had a bad smell. It may be because it is an internal bathroom and an old building. It was liveable with but not pleasant. Also owner seemed to be using the flat
for storage. When we went to put our cloths in the wardrobes they seemed to
be full of extra blankets, pillows, towels etc. In our daughter's room there was
no room to put her clothes. Every chest seemed to be full of stuff. Even in the
bathroom there were rolls of toilet paper and extra supplies.It is good that there
are extra supplies but we weren't sure that we were supposed to use them. I
guess we could have asked. It would have been useful to have had extra towels.
Saying this, when we wanted to know how to use the oven, Aida replied to our
text promptly. She also gave us a short tour of the local area when we arrived
which was very helpful. She arranged for a taxi to pick us up at the end of
our holiday however we were a bit surprised that she had arranged a flat fee
of 20 euros and then the meter actually said 13! However, even with these factors taken into consideration we would still recommend this apartment for a stay in Lisbon.

The apartment was in the perfect location and had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The block was super quiet but was only one block away from all the fun and bars. Aida was great and showed us where everything was and even took me on a little walk to show me where the grocery store, metro etc were. She was easy to contact and had pastries for us upon arrival which we really needed. I would totally recommend staying here.

This apartment is fantastic. Not only was it the best equipped apartment I have ever stayed in (Wifi, satellite TV, Sat Nav, Mobile phones, books, DVD's, coffee machine etc) but the owner Aida was absolutely wonderful and went to so much trouble to ensure we had a good stay (from recommendations for restaurants & cafes to showing us where the metro & bank were) that I can't recommend her or her apartment highly enough.
The apartment itself is on the second floor of an old building (no lift) and overlooks the narrow street below. It is a few doors away from the police station so feels very secure. Although it in smack back in the centre of the Barrio Alto area and minutes from restaurants & bars it is really quiet and peaceful. Its very spacious (the pictures don't do it justice) and extremely comfortable with decent matresses on the beds ensuring you get a good nights sleep. A wide range of toiletries are provided along with condiments plus tea & coffee in the kitchen. The location was perfect; just minutes away from trams, buses, the funicular etc. and a 15 Euro ride away from the airport. A great stay and great value for money.

We stayed in this apartment for a week in May 2010 with our two small children.
The apartment was centrally located but still quiet during the nights and kept cool in the day time even though the temperature outside was rising high. Given it's great location, Cais do Sodre station was in easy access to get us to the beach of Carcavelos literally in 45 mins without a car.
The apartment itself is well kept, fully furnished and decorated with taste and personality. Land lady Aida has taken care of all the small details and it really pays off, we lacked nothing and appreciated our accommodation well beyond our expectations.
In the description it is described (at least in Finnish) that the place would have a tumble dryer, which it does not have. This was not however a problem as the sun dried our washing on the line in no time at all!
On the top of all, Aida was superbly hospitable and reliable hostess who impressed even our children with her kindness and care.
