We stayed at Hostel Knot in the private room for one night during our Japan trip, to try the onsens in the region. It was a wonderful experience with the fully equipped kitchen. After climbing Mt. Fuji, our clothes were soaked, so I was more than happy, when I realised, that they have a big coin operated washing machine and drier too. We sleeped like babies on their futon beds. The Staff were really kind, and even made us a reservation for a wonderful dining too. I highly recommend them. ❤️
There is a traditional japanese bath which is half shower half bathtub. It wasn't bad or anything, just keep in mind, that it can be difficult to get in, if you have join problems.

The staff is very welcoming, there are a lot of common areas which are stocked well. The staff provided a lot of information and advice on sights to see, restaurant, etc. The very old school onsen next door is convenient to wind down each evening.
I pretty much liked everything. :)
