We made it work but wish it was better.

The location was almost perfect, surrounded by nature and not overlooked by other properties and with car parking directly outside the property and nice garden areas and pool. The views from the property are really beautiful. There was plenty of space and clothing storage. Beds were quite comfortable (though need more pillows). There was good communication by the representative and good signage around the house to help us navigate things. Our deposit was refunded quickly, which was appreciated.

Why we felt disappointed: -Upon entry the house had a musty smell and needed to be aired for a number of hours to make it bearable -Several wooden chairs on the balcony and in the dining area broke the moment we sat on them, which was a health and safety hazard. Soft furnishings were stained and worn and felt like they had decades of ingrained dirt in the fabric. -The kitchen windows were filthy and kitchen drawers very rickety and almost falling out when we pull them out for access. -There wasn’t a single sharp knife in the kitchen. We had to buy a knife in order to cut vegetables. -There was quite a lot of dust and spiderwebs everywhere, which was not pleasant. -Cats were everywhere, e.g. sitting on the balcony and it was a constant battle to stop them coming inside, making it impossible to sit on the balcony and eat in peace or keep doors open to let fresh air inside. -The bathroom sink was clogged, and the water wouldn't drain properly. -The clothes dryer was not working, its door was broken. -We needed to buy mosquito nets and plug-in repellant devices. -The nearby road can be quite noisy. Overall, our experience felt like staying in someone's home that has not been updated for decades, nor, in our view, maintained to a standard suitable or worthy of being listed on Booking.com. We vacated a day early (from a 4 night stay). If the house was completely remodelled it could be a truly stunning destination.

Casa da Rampa is such an easy property to love.. from its beautiful design to its funny goats, we had a wonderful time!

We loved the facilities most: the pool, the animals, the terrace & garden. Everything was available to us. Another thing we loved was how welcoming the hosts were and how homely the property felt.

The pool area could have been slightly more taken care of in terms of the plants around it but it was not a major issue!

La ubicación, casa independiente

La casa es magnífica pero está muy descuidada. El jardín debió ser increíble pero la vegetación se come la casa y la piscina. Importante: hay gatos que campan a sus anchas, un problema si eres alérgico como mi hija.
