Lovely property with a friendly and helpful Italian hostess who speaks English and French, in a quiet location on the outskirts of Lucca.
It's helpful to have a vehicle or bicycle while staying here, or ask about taking the local bus rather than using the Google Maps bus route, as it can make you walk a long way along a busy road. Also remember to take some necessities for meals if you aren't going into town for dinner.

My husband and I arrived to Lucca by train and stayed for 3 nights at Le Rondini from June 12-14, 2026. The hostess was very gracious and came to pick us up from the train station. There is a bus stop near the B&B but the schedule is terrible. Something like 8AM, 9:30AM 2PM, 5:30PM, 7PM and no service at night. It's a cute B&B with just a few rooms with a shared kitchen area where there is a small fridge and tables with chairs. Our booking did not include breakfast but that was fine because there is an inexpensive bakery literally a 4 min walk away down the street (Forno Ghilardi) which had amazing pizzellis, sandwiches, foccacia, desserts and such. We visited it daily! Staff is very friendly there.
The B&B lent us 2 bicycles which we used one day to explore the Tuscan countryside and we also went into the city center of Lucca (within the walls where there is a beautiful walkway). We had supper there and at 11PM were heading home when the chain broke on my husband's bike and he had to "scooter" home on it! Was an interesting adventure LOL! We felt very safe being alone in the streets close to midnight. Lucca is a charming place!
We had booked the Sole & Luna rooms, there was a little fridge in the small room with 2 beds and the other room with the big bed had a TV and an armoire, little table with 2 chairs. Everything was very clean and in good condition. We had enough towels for the 3 nights and Shampoo/Body wash/Hand Wash were provided.
Our hostess was again kind enough to drop us off at the train station on our check-out day.
We are very happy to have chosen Le Rondini and highly recommend this B&B for those who want to stay outside of the large touristy cities and want a nice quiet place to explore. On one of the days, we jumped on the train to visit Pisa (about 20-25min ride). The hostess speaks French and a little English.
Everything was amazing, nothing to write under what we did not like!

very poor breakfast, industrial-taste cruassans+ few ham and cheese- nothing to enjoy.
heating is via heated air which eats the oxygen in the room, ice-cold floor in winter not comfortable
