About this cottage rental
Come stay in our fabulous rustic and historic 4 bedroom/ 2 bath waterfront cottage on beautiful Lake Walloon. The cottage includes an upstairs and downstairs wrap-around porch furnished with cocktail nook, round picnic table, porch swing and gas grill and griddle. Large front lawn continuous with 110 feet of sandy beachfront; there are no rocks in swimming area, no stairs to waterfront. Firepit.
Main floor: Fully equipped kitchen with dining area. Large living room facing the lake with ceiling fan, L-shaped sofa, easy chair with footstool, double shell chair, board games and puzzles. Also on the main floor is a full bath with shower and a washer and dryer.
Second floor: Full bath with bathtub and shower, 4 bedrooms; two with king-sized beds, one with queen-sized bed, one with two twin beds.
Both main and guest cottages share 110 ft of waterfront, so if you are renting one of the two properties and the other is also rented at that time, you will have to share the waterfront. Dock is shared with neighbors; there is possible dock space available for another boat, check with owner.

Every season at Walloon Lake is beautiful. This property is 0.25 miles from Resort Township Pioneer Trails https://www.resorttownship.gov/township-resources/parks-recreation-areas/resort-township-pioneer-trails/ offering 122 acres of wooded trail access for walking, running, mountain biking, and snowshoeing.

We enjoyed our week at the lake cottage. There was plenty of space for 6 adults and two children. We had fun in the kayak and the canoe. The beach and swim area was great for the kids. The beds were comfortable. The twin beds were fine for kids.The host was great to work with. We appreciated their quick response to an Internet problem we had. They were more than generous with check in and check out times. We would definitely stay again.

We stayed here for a long weekend for a wedding, 7 adults. The 3 double/king bedrooms worked out nicely for couples. The rooms were plenty spacious. The twin beds in the fourth room are uncomfortable and sit very low to the ground. Not a great option for adult sleeping. The kitchen was well stocked with spices, pots and pans, and everything we needed for the weekend. Plus, plenty of space for multiple people to be in the kitchen at one time and enough seats for eating. The position of the property on the water blocked the wind nicely compared to what we experienced just on the other side.
All that said, the property is very rustic. All of the doors are loud, and some don’t close easily or at all. I couldn’t get enough signal to make a phone call but was able to work over the WIFI for one of the days with minimal issues. While we were there, the temperature decreased to 50/60F. With most of the windows closed, the main floor had a damp smell. I can’t imagine it would be much better during a humid summer day with no A/C. The living room couch, carpet, and towels were all well-worn.

We had a wonderful time at Walloon Lake! We loved being right on the water with a small private beach. The kayak and canoe were a nice touch, unfortunately there is a thing called swimmers itch and we were warned by many locals not to get in the water. The house is pretty rustic and we were there during a heat wave so the no air conditioning was very uncomfortable, we opened all the windows and were thankful for the fans. The master bedroom desperately needs a mattress upgrade.
