very good stay, but noisy

sanitary is super clean, the room is confortable and the fan is powerful. cats and dog welcome you. the kitchen is big. super good location

location is near everything but also there is music until 1 or 2 am from bars nearby, even in weekdays. it the only thing that bothered me. but for the excellent price I will come back with earplug :) and if you don’t mind that’s cool

Great place for a night or 2

This is a great overnight stop. Simple, clean and not too noisy. The room had A/C which is a rare bonus in Costa Rica at this price

really good location, facilities, staff friendly & helpful. Definitely worth what you pay for

It is very loud in the room, you can often hear people in their rooms + traffic (& the temporary construction work going on outside)

Nice place, but you should have a noise-resistant sleep!

Very nice and helpful staff, great location, bed with mosquito-protection, mostly good for a hostel/cabinas!

Very noisy for the price: one night out of two there is loud music from the Salsa Brava Bar which makes it difficult to fall asleep; in the morning there were people in kitchen right next to our window listening to music and workers renovating the street (also next to the house, and the windows cannot be closed), so it was very hard to stay asleep. In sum, it's noisy. There is a mosquito plague! Maybe some fumigación could help?

Exceptional

The hostel is clean and has a nice kitchen. The beds were comfortable and the location is great. There were lots of mosquitos but the beds had mosquito nets. The host is very friendly!

It is more of a hotel than a hostel and there is not really a place to chill outside but it is directly at the beach so we didn't really miss it.

Superb

Thomas, the owner, was very welcoming, helpful and funny. The hostel has everything you need: Information, laundry, good equipped kitchen... The rooms are comfortable, air conditioned and have warm water. We would definetly come back!

The laundry we did, wasn't really clean and didn't smell good. But it was dry.

Don’t come here if you like a good night of sleep and hate mosquitos

The man who received us was very kind and the rooms were clean as were the bathrooms

The kitchen and bedroom are full of mosquitos, so when cooking and sleeping we were stung at least 10 times even with the usage of a mosquito net. There are bars nearby which u can hear the music off and the wifi did not work at all in our room

Hostel owner was very friendly and helpful! He let us store our luggage outside of our check in & check out times. He also did a great job of keeping the hostel nice and clean.

The host was really nice. You can rent a bike from him (cheap) There is a “little” gym.

The beach directly in Puerto Viejo isn’t the prettiest. We recommend to go a little bit further down the coast

Nice place to stay

Small but clean room with good kitchen en showers. The host didn’t really speak English but was very helpful. The panted walls are very creative.

an evening by the beach

Only one block from Salsa Brava, easy to reach everything in town on foot or bicycle. Seemed secure with gates closed at night, great value for the price. Very comfortable mattress, was surprised actually.

Kitchen is large but with few appliances; with the addition of a blender, strainer, and coffee maker, it would be an even better set up for guests.

Good

Decent value for money in the region. My room was equipped with both fan and aircon and a mosquito net, which was good. The kitchen was rather basic but functional and nice to have. Showers and bathrooms clean. The host was helpful and answered any questions I had. You could also rent decent bicycles from the premises, which was handy.

Located next to a swampy area, which was a bit smelly some days. Luckily not in the night time - or at least the smell did not come into the rooms. Could do with better lighting - the corridor outside my door was so dark, it was hard to find the keyhole. On Friday night a neighbouring establishment had the music on really loud and until very late. This could be heard in the room extremely well, since there is no sound proofing to speak of. No breakfast option during the time I was staying.

A great place to stay

A lovely Casa to stay , rooms are kept very clean wi5 good fans , showers have hot water too, they is a kitchen to cook you own food if you may wish but a short walk away from the main street with plenty of places to eat, the beach nearby is good for swimming, It is also a short walk away from the bus stop an thank you again Weldon , the owners son who came with us to purchase our tickets as our Spainish is not that good, thank you Weldon . Well recommended for your stay in Puerto Virgo ,
