Location

Carpet was jigsawed together from old pieces torn out of rooms. Nothing has been updated. There was a dead deer across the street that was put on a rock as decor...

This is a place we would have liked to stay longer. For a motel room it was incredibly spacious and comfortable, even with a reclining chair. Bathroom was clean, beds were excellent, and we had direct door-access from the parked car to the motel door, which made unloading/loading less stressful. Location was good, bars and restaurants in John Day easily reachable by foot.

It was very hot outside and the wall mounted AC could not cool the room. I opened the window to cool the room but that did not feel particularly safe since anyone could take the screen off and climb in. So I slept poorly. Very dated and too expensive for the hotel condition and amenities. No breakfast for example

it is pretty dated but very clean. Bed was too hard for my liking but other than that no complaints.

Excellent location, very friendly front desk staff, walking distance to lots of restaurants and the museum. Felt safe. Stairwell was very quiet. Windows were well insulated. Room was very large with plenty of space to stretch. Cozy space. Refrigerator seemed newer and very quiet. Pretty well-maintained bathroom. Heat was from baseboards so very quiet.

Pillow sheets did not seem properly cleaned.

The beds were very hard and uncomfortable

It was clean. They accepted a small dog. Gave us first floor room so we could easily walk the dog.

Gosh, I love finding sweet motels like this one. Off the Main Street, so very quiet. Family owned by a warm, friendly couple. VERY clean - no old musty odors. Beautiful carpeting. A frig with a separate freezer compartment for the ice you’ve been using in your ice chest.

Love the location downtown. The view from our room overlooking town was a nice bonus.

Overall our room was clean but there were a couple details that would elevate it to great.

Location was convenient and the room was large and comfortable. Check in and check out was simple. Staff was nice and accommodating.

Motel could use a facelift. Noise issues: Very thin walls (I could hear the guy in the next room snoring.) Noisy rowdy drunk people partying and playing a loud bumping game (corn hole? Horseshoes?) for hours at night in the parking lot. AC was very loud and not adjustable. On or off.
