The staff from the hotel is very nice and kind, they speak decent English and are helpful if you need them, I am very satisfied with them.
The hotel is 15 min walk to metro Minowa station (which is 2 stops away from Ueno station), the transportation was smooth, I found it easy to reach the major stations a tourist would want to reach, including going to the Narita Airport.
On the way to the hotel from the metro station I found some convenience stores such as 7eleven or FamilyMart (I don't remember which one exactly as they look so similar...).
The room is alright in terms of space, any smaller would have been too small, so it was exactly at my limit of spaciousness. It was decent clean, maybe it would have looked even cleaner if the furniture would have been newer. However I had no troubles sleeping as the sheets were clean and there was no noise at all, to the point that... maybe too silent if one can understand. :) Anyway, I had almost everything I needed (good wifi, mini-fridge, AC, toiletries, hair dryer, recipient to boil water, TV) and overall it was a comfortable stay. The price of the room was by far the most convenient considering what the hotel is offering and what similar hotels offer as well for the same price.
The neighborhood was uncomfortable for a woman walking alone after dark. There were a lot of hotels with men standing outside the doors and I felt measured from head to toe every time I passed by no matter the time of the day. One time I saw two non-asian men walking in front of me and all those men approached them, inviting them inside. I guess I was not into their demographic target because luckily for me, nobody approached me.
In regards of the room, I wish the carpet did not have stains on it as it looked dirty even though it was vacuumed. Also, I found it difficult to figure out how to open the window, maybe some instructions would be useful. You have to push with your right hand and pull with your left hand in order to open it, which was unusual to me. Two more things I wish I had to make it perfect: an iron and a microwave. Oh, and more hangers. Three are not enough for a woman. :) Be aware that sun rises quite early in Japan and if you are used to sleep into pitch black you might get up really early because the light will go though the window shades.
Unfortunately, due to the neighborhood, I will use this hotel again only if my budget is too tight to afford another one or if I won't be travelling alone.
