We really enjoyed our stay at Mevlana hotel and we highly recommend staying here for great service, convenient location and excellent breakfast. We did have a couple of unforeseen issues come up, but this was an unusual case and I think the pros outweigh the cons. This is a great hotel to stay at in Sultanahmet if you want great service from their friendly and helpful staff and if you want to be close to the iconic Istanbul locations like the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sofia. We stayed there for 4 nights. First of all I want to thank Sardar who was the Manager/front desk who was extremely helpful and courteous. He really made our stay comfortable despite the surprise issues. Our flight into Istanbul came in very early in the morning so we arrived at Mevlana hotel early in the morning. Since we had tired young children we decided to go to the hotel and see if we can check in early. The night front desk staff told us we had to wait in the lobby until the manager showed up since we were very early. As soon as Manager Sardar showed up in the morning, he was able to get us one room of our 2 reserved rooms, but he informed us that there was a mixup and they did not have the 3-beds room available. However he was going to give us 3 rooms with 2 beds each instead of the 2 rooms that we had originally reserved. He also offered us free breakfast for that morning which was much appreciated. So even though there was an initial mixup, Sardar tried to make up for it and help us out. I really appreciate his efforts here. Once we got into the rooms we later realized that the AC was not working properly in one of the rooms which is unacceptable in the July istanbul heat. We were informed that they would try to get it repaired but we could switch to an available basement room if we wanted. We did not want to separate out to a basement room so we asked for the AC to be repaired instead.

Unfortunately the AC repair was delayed for 2 days because they couldn't find a repairman, but thankfully another room finally became available on the 3rd day, so the front desk switched us from the broken AC room to the good room. Again I do appreciate their help with this.

I love the location , close to the tourist attractions ( walking distance ) , beautiful , European style buildings , streets and vibes.
Rooms are not as spacious and the showers in the bathrooms are a bit “tight”. Secondly , the towels are worn out. Also , the breakfast table is limited ( variety) and no coffee machine.

The location is really good and the staff was super nice and welcoming (big thanks to them). Breakfast was ok, on the last floor with a nice view.
Breakfast was ok but the coffee was horrible. The room was kinda small and dark because it was facing the "courtyard" (bad view) but at least it was calm... The room was quite outdated and didn't seem clean, especially the bathroom. One of the towels was ripped (how expensive can a towel be, just change it!)... I didn't feel super comfortable because of that.
