hostel is on level 3 and above
good security entrance to hostel, and to individual rooms
kitchen, laundry space, lounge area, coworking space
rooftop area is excellent cafe/bar/seating with view; community dinners are great way to mix (other activities also)
staff very accessible and helpful
dorms: large capsule beds, very comfortable mattress, light power outlet,shelf space
lockers excellent: multi shelf, able to take large backpack
community dinners are great value set meal, and usually people are sociable - just be aware that the rooftop can be quite cool
some might be a little concerned about the area

Great location right next to the historical centre. Very friendly and helpful staff. Daily dinner followed social activities each night which is a great way of bringing people together. Amazing view from the rooftop. Bunk beds have privacy shutter and curtains.
Noise/music from neighbouring buildings rather early nearly every morning.

This is the best hostel in Quito, and I know because I did a highly scientific sample of four hostels during my three weeks in Quito. My private room was huge and had a fantastic view of the mountains and the basilica. The family dinners were a great way to meet people (and the food is surprisingly good!), and there was always some sort of activity afterwards. There were always people on the rooftop terrace, but not TOO many people...Plus there is a guitar.
My only slight quibbles were 1. I didn't love having to walk all the way way up to the rooftop with my gear in order to check in; and 2. the way local people come and join in in the events was a big plus for me. However some nights I must say it all felt a bit much, as if I was staying in a bar with a hostel rather than the other way round...

Very comfortable rooms, very clean, great staff who answer questions and can book your tours. Walking tour a must.
Food and view was great. 10/10 definetly recommend. Great location.
