Definitely a hotel that has the Hilton touch and should feel familiar to most that frequently stays at Hilton hotels. The restaurant albeit a bit pricey in comparison to local prices is fantastic! The breakfast is also amazing and very complete with options! Front desk service was always eager to help and the room itself was very spacious and comfortable.

Beware that the hotel is not located within walking distance of city center. Although cabs are plentiful and will cost you no more than 10 euros per ride anywhere you go, restaurants are not within walking distance (there was a plaza with some fast food options within eye range from the hotel but we never explored it).

The hotel is keeping the standard, rooms are clean, breakfast options are very good, and the staff is professional. Parking is a bonus. We requested a non-smoking room and we got it.

We had higher expectations for our stay at the DoubleTree by Hilton Skopje. The hotel has the appearance and ambition of a high end Hilton property, but unfortunately several details did not match that standard. There were flickering lights in our room and the wellness and pool area showed some signs of overdue maintenance, including lights that were not working. On one occasion the shower area at the pool was completely dark, which seemed to be another electrical issue. These are relatively small things individually, but together they make the hotel feel less well maintained than you would expect from this brand and price level. We were also disappointed with the breakfast. The selection felt rather limited, particularly when it came to yoghurt and fresh fruit, and we expected considerably more variety from a hotel like this. Another downside is the location next to a busy intersection. Cars regularly accelerated very loudly, especially those with loud exhausts, and the traffic noise could definitely be heard from our room. That being said, there were also several things we really appreciated. The housekeeping was excellent. Our room was cleaned very well every day, the beds were made, fresh towels were provided and when the soap ran out it was immediately replaced the following day. The staff throughout the hotel were friendly and helpful, and there was plenty of convenient parking available. Overall, the hotel has plenty of potential and the service from the staff was good, but some attention to maintenance, the breakfast selection and the smaller details would make a big difference.
