Beautiful views, excellent pools, and a great location right in the middle of the Florida Keys.
1.The staff seems poorly managed. They rarely smile, often make you feel as though they are doing you a favor, and at times even seem irritated and impatient with guests.
2.The room was mediocre and, in my opinion, not even up to the standard of a 3-star hotel. There were maintenance issues with the toilet, which occasionally would not flush properly. Our two-bedroom suite had only one small closet for an entire family. In addition, the suite is advertised as being 85 square meters, but in reality, it felt no larger than 60 square meters. The air conditioning was also inadequate and did not properly reach the master bedroom.
3. The food was simply not good. It was expensive, not tasty, and the portions were small. The quality and preparation seemed to change depending on who was cooking. Food also took a very long time to arrive, even when the restaurant was not busy. The servers often seemed more interested in closing out the check than actually providing service.
One example: While our server was serving us, water spilled on the table in front of my son. She did not even think to offer us a napkin or help clean the table. She simply continued what she was doing and did not come back. Only after we specifically asked for help did she bring us something to wipe the table, and she clearly seemed annoyed that she had to clean it.
4. Parking costs $30 per night. However, to their credit, the hotel waived two nights of parking after a dog was left barking in the room next to ours for about six hours, continuing into the night. Eventually, the hotel managed to locate the owners, who returned to let the poor dog out.
