Very traditional b&b style, only a few rooms above the pub. The main photo makes it look a bit shabby so my expectations weren't very high.
I only needed somewhere to sleep for the night, so chose somewhere inexpensive in the right location, but the photos don't do it justice! My room was very nice and fresh, and the bed was comfortable (Room 1 is a twin but I only used one).
Staff were friendly and the included breakfast was great, with full English on offer plus orange juice, cereals, yogurt and fresh fruit.
Very convenient location for work at Ramside Hall, about 6 minutes away.
Shower head was probably needing replacement as it was usable but had a bit of a dribble.
Curtain and rails could be wider, not really keeping all the light out but okay on darker mornings

Everything I needed was already provided. I've stayed here several times; this was the first time in Room 1. All the facilities were the same, just arranged differently.
I will be staying here again next year.

Good location
In desperate need of a makeover . Very tired looking , squeaky doors , under the beds hadn’t been vacuumed in months. No response to messages through the app, had to phone.

Not too far from the centre and although it was an uphill walk home. There was a bus service outside. Good parking at the side of the hotel. Room was small but adequate.
A great deal of steep stairs to room 3 which would be a problem to a person with mobility issues. Shower and toilet located over the landing in view of room 2. Asked if we could book breakfast when we arrived at 12 for the next day and this was a problem although there were other guests having breakfast. She advised us where the nearest MacDonald ect were located. Rooms furniture and bed linen were shabby and required updating.
