This one is the gold standard of vacation rentals, and one which we've had the pleasure of returning to for the second time. Immaculate, well-appointed, excellent location, plenty of parking and easy access are beyond what is advertised. We live in Europe now, and when we return to our native San Rafael/Marin County, this cottage makes it all the more welcoming, this time during our last week of a 30-day USA trip. Thanks again, Eda, for the being the best-ever host. Your attention to detail, thoughtfulness and warm smile are greatly appreciated. We look forward to future stays! Jean & Steve

Eda could not have been nicer! my dog played with her two dogs every morning in the nicely fenced yard. The small cosy cottage was a perfect refuge for me while I visited local family during the holidays. Would stay again!

Wonderful property!! Perfectly located for a stay in the Bay Area. PLovely California backyard— hot tub a definite plus! The 2 small rooms- bedroom, living room and kitchen were pristine and efficiently organized. We loved our host Eda who was super friendly, welcoming, helpful and fun!! We will definitely come again to stay since we just had our first grandchild!!

I had no internet (ATT) until last am! I am limited mobility- very small space, difficult toilet shower facilities. Otherwise charming garden setting just right for summer. Great location!

Eda was a great host. The property was as described, and in a great neighborhood. There was convenient access to local amenities within a short drive (or walking distance). There was plenty of on-street parking available. It was easy to check in and check out. The wifi worked great! A great place to stay.

The property seems recently renovated and is very pleasant. All the appliances are up to date along with the bathroom. Everything is perfectly clean. One suggestion to the owner ( who is very pleasant and helpful) -- the space is very tight and would benefit from getting rid of the very large glass top desk which hs not needed and replace it with a small bureau with drawers for our stuff. Also, the hassock is over large for the small space and something smaller would also allow for more room to move around. But, beyond that, we lived our time there.

We loved our week in Picnic Valley. Great little place, nice amenities and comfy bed. We loved the outside space and the hot tub! An easy walk to the downtown and groceries and restaurants. Our kids and grandkids live in San Rafael in a tiny house, so we need our own space. We will be back!

This was a tremendous experience from start to finish. Eda is a responsive, kind and professional host. The cottage property exceeded my expectations - and was just as described and shown on the website. I stayed here for a week to work without distraction and it was a perfect "home away from home". The location is fantastic, parking is easy, the neighborhood is calm and quiet and safe. I would strongly recommend this property - just not on that dates I want to rebook :)

Eda is very helpful. The cottage is small but works well. The neighborhood is quiet and safe. Parking was always available next to the entry gate. The protracted rain was a bit noisy on the skylight. The jacuzzi was enjoyable. About a 6 block walk to an inviting bakery. Access to the freeway was easy. My dog and I enjoyed it.

Eda was an attentive host who made all our interactions with her very pleasurable. The cottage is cute and well equipped. The decor is very tasteful and thoughtfully laid out. We stayed at the cottage for a month and our stay was super comfortable with a grocery store within minutes. Walking distance to great bakery, Muffin Mania. Highly recommend this property and the host.

Eda was awesome! Always responsive and we had everything we needed. We were visiting San Francisco, and the location was not too far for us to drive in everyday. Felt safe in a private area with lockable gate. :)

WE loved the easy access to 101 North/South, all the bridges, and the cottage was easy walking distance to downtown San Rafael's wonderful restaurants, Rainbow Ice Cream (yum!), and a lovely, quiet neighborhood just to walk in. Our host, Eda was great--helpful, friendly, but gave us our privacy. Garden flowers were beautiful as well as plenty outdoor seating for morning coffee or afternoon tea. The cottage is small, but plenty comfortable for two. We would definitely stay again when we visit!
