About this house rental
Coriolana sits overlooking the fabulous 5-mile pink sand beach on Windermere Island. A visit to Windermere offers tranquility, privacy and the restorative beauty of nature; fresh home-made bread and vegetables from the Farm shop, and delicious rum cocktails add to the pleasure. The pace of life slows, books get read, and there is all the time in the world for sunrise walks and sunset swims, snorkeling on the reefs and diving for conch.
Considered to be one of the most beautifully designed houses on Windermere, Coriolana has wonderful inside and outside living spaces. The wrap-around terrace overlooking the Atlantic, and the tranquil courtyard around the swimming pool both offer seating and dining areas. The elegant living room looks out across the turquoise sea to the East and the swimming pool to the West, through glorious French windows.
The kitchen is fully equipped and there is also a great new barbecue. Other amenities include air conditioning throughout, WIFI, TV via a fire stick (but not cable), kayaks, bikes, snorkel gear, gas grill a back up generator, and a back up water system. We have a palapa on the beach for shade.
Each main house bedroom opens out onto the terrace, and offers direct access to the beach, down a picturesque stairway, and the sound of the surf soothes you to sleep.
The master bedroom has a lovely large four-poster bed, and a large en-suite bathroom with both bath and shower. Bedroom 2 can adjoin for family use, or be separate, as both have direct access to the pool and to the beach. All bedrooms and living areas have very efficient air-condition, but the sea-breeze and the ceiling fans means that it is rarely needed. All four bedrooms have en-suite bathrooms & ocean views. The three guest bedrooms have twin beds that can be converted to kings beds.
The brand new guest cottage has two bedrooms, one with twin beds that can be converted to a kings bed and the other with a full size bed and two full baths, plus a kitchenette and a dining area.
We provide a 4-hour maid-service daily except Saturdays; more can be arranged as can cooking and babysitting.
While you are staying you also have temporary membership at the Club At Windermere, where you can use the pickleball courts, tennis courts, heated pool, small gym, TV/library (open year round), and restaurant and bar (open November to May).
Five minutes away by car is Savannah Sound and there's also a great grocery store, Midway Cost Cutters.

Flew into ELH airport. House was 1.5 hour drive from airport. Roads are rough, lots of potholes, speed bumps are hard to see. Stopped at supermarket in Governor's Harbor to get supplies before going to house. Arrived at house 4pm, everything was unlocked so we just went in, put on bathing suits and went straight to the beach in front of house. Water was beautiful and warm. 4 bedrooms each with own bathroom. 1 bedroom off main great-room, other 3 bedrooms are off the pool area. All bedrooms have French-doors to front patio. Main room has big sofas for about 9-10 people. Large dining table plus a smaller dining table in the corner. 3 outdoor areas for eating also. Outside sofas also. Tiki hut with comfy seating on beachfront, also good to watch sunrise from. Pool was large and great, we spent every evening in the pool before dinner. Kitchen was well-supplied with pots, pans, plates, cups, glasses. Has 2 ovens, gas stovetop, microwave, toaster oven, toaster, fridge/freezer, coffee maker, water cooler station, pantry has a few herbs and spices. Dishwasher was broken, but I see it was NOT listed as an amenity. About 8 beach towels avail. Washer & dryer avail. TV, lots of games, books, videos. Good AC in all rooms. Housekeeping was good. Beds were comfortable. Eating out is VERY EXPENSIVE (food and drinks). We cooked a lot. We brought some supplies from US. We really enjoyed ourselves and would book this place again. House is very secluded, we went in August 2023.

Fantastic property on a nearly deserted beach. A very well-stocked kitchen, spacious living room, and a variety of outdoor spaces to enjoy the views. We look forward to returning in the future.

We arrived on Saturday in the middle of the COVID curfew and we can understand that this year has been very different, however, knowing we were arriving, we would have thought that the house and pool would have been cleaned thoroughly before our arrival. The kitchen was our most concern as no one would want to use the dishwasher. The stove/microwave and refrigerator needed serious cleaning. The pool was cleaned on Monday after our arrival. Had problems with toilets flushing and overflowing. Need to have lights outside on the deck on ocean side. Small throw rugs on granite in bedrooms need to be eliminated, as it is very easy to slip and fall.
The house is a beautiful house, just needs a good cleaning throughout. We would definitely return.
