Vagabond Lodge exceeded our expectations in every respect. We will be back.

An exceptional place to stay in every respect; starting with the hosts Ken and Lori Chilibeck. They are in this business because they love sharing the beauty of the mountains and all of the outdoor activities in the region. Most importantly, they treat every guest as if they are a visitor to their home, which in essence the lodge is. One big happy home. At the same time, there is ample space and amenities to find your quiet Zen if you wish. Ken and Lori shared with us their story of how the lodge came to be, including their extensive input into the design process with the architect. Their combined effort reflects itself in the timeless beauty of the place; vaulted ceilings, open spaces, wood beams and floors, and personal mementos that tell a story and make a business into a home. As for the accommodations; the rooms are comfortable and clean, we appreciated the surprise origami animals made from towels on the bed each day, there are books to read all over the place, and it was quiet at night. There is a sauna, hot tub, and pool table. Large fireplace and bar (in ski season). The morning breakfast spread was fantastic! We drove every day of our stay to points as far away as Jasper to hike - the region is so gorgeous that four hours in the car each day went by in no time.

Just for the sake of answering this question; I couldn't find any non-sugar sweetener at the coffee/tea machine. [But I must say that I didn't ask - so it is likely it was available and I just didn't see it.....] Also would be nice if soft drinks were stocked for the guests.

Wonderful

A beautiful, clean, spacious house, with everything you need in the room and in the house to be comfortable. The hosts are very nice and very friendly, they have many recommendations for trips in the area and prepare a great breakfast. It is highly recommended to stay at this place

Great lodge & terrific location at the resort (we were here in summer, but in winter it is ski-in ski-out). Ken & Lori were terrific hosts, and helped with lots of information about the Golden area. The breakfasts were also fantastic.

Great stay with amazing hosts

Ken and Lori are amazing! They made us feel like we lived there. They made special versions of meals for anyone with allergies. They know everything, answer all questions, made great recommendations, The beds are soooo comfortable. The place is charming and modern at the same time.

It's a bit far up the road... A minor issue.

Good property and location. Few reasonable restaurants nearby. Walkable to lifts.

Owner was intrusive and unpleasant, completely ruining the experience. Would definitely not return.

Will be back!

Ken and Lori were wonderful going beyond expectations to make the stay pleasant. Location is about as close to the gondola as possible. Great common spaces. Breakfast was excellent: Fresh fruits, Home made scones and bread. Yumm.

we had a fabulous time at vagabond, home cooked breakfast was amazing, the hot tub and sauna were amazing as were the hosts

hosts were very hospitable, friendly, take an extra mile to make us feel special comfortable beds cleanliness location breakfast were very delicious quiet and homey feel coffee is available all the time the lodge itself is so beautiful

Good

Beautiful property, very clean , well appointed and decorated. Very nice bed.

This was an RnR trip for my wife who is a healthcare worker dealing with covid. So rest was the operative word. SE side of building had a beautiful view but lots of road noise. The people on the hill really like their loud pickups and minibikes. Had a regular pickup blow by at 5:30am. Breakfast has a pretty narrow window, 8-9am. So, we never tried it.
