🌻 Secluded, eclectic cabin with incredible lake and mountain views from porch
About this cabin rental
Situated in Oklahoma, this attractive cabin for $211 per night is a great choice for your next trip. 📸 Check us out on TikTok and Instagram for more incredible views: @bearcreekvacations Hey! You’ve made it to Bella Vista where you can be in seclusion while you swing on the patio next to the fire, taking in views at this little, eclectic cabin. Sounds awesome, right? But, please read the description in its entirety to ensure this special and unique place is for you! Bella Vista is one of only four off-grid cabins situated on 80 acres over looking Broken Bow Lake! Because of its location, not only will you avoid extra town taxes and fees upon booking, but Bella Vista also provides an incredible retreat from hustle and bustle of the big city. You get the best of both worlds! Surrounded on three sides by National Forest, you will have very few neighbors. Decorated in an eclectic boho style with furniture imported from Indonesia, some reclaim wood and a wine barrel kitchen island that doubles as a table, Bella Vista provides breathtaking lake views from the master bedroom, great room and outdoor living space. Guests are sure to enjoy a memorable vacation in this fully furnished, one bedroom, one bath cabin. Bella Vista is entirely off-grid. We produce our own power, water (well), hot water and have our own septic system. We are 100% green and still have all the luxuries of home! Because we are green; however, we do have to choose which luxuries we would like to have. In our efforts to conserve energy, we have decided to opt out of bath and hot tubs in all of our mountain cabins. We also have have a filter, but the well water has iron in it, so please bring bottled water if this makes you uncomfortable. ○ Bedroom 1: King master bedroom and Twin bed and Double sofa bed located down the hall in living room to accommodate second couple or kiddos ○ Bathroom 1: Full bathroom with walk-in shower 🚨 We realize that this is where most like to stop reading, but we ask that you please scroll a little more to review the important information for the drive in and more! 🚨 ✨ DRIVE IN / ACCESS ✨ The mountain cabins sit 5 miles off of Highway 259 and is accessed by US Forest Service roads. It’s a beautiful drive and we oftentimes see white tail deer, turkey, and birds of prey including red tail hawks and various owls! You will need a vehicle with some clearance as well as a bit of driving skill to make it in. 4WD and/or AWD is NOT necessary, but helpful. → We strongly suggest: ○ a small, medium or large SUV ○ any size truck ○ a crossover → We strongly advise against: ○ a minivan ○ a sedan or coupe The first 2 miles of the drive are easy and you can drive 25 mph. The remaining 3 miles are slower and requires some attention. You will cross 4 or 5 small creeks on the way in. Water is rarely more than 4 inches deep. The roads are rocky and bumpy, but will not ever be muddy. There are also grades up to 12% on gravel roads. This means you will travel up the mountain until you have reached our mountain top. Don't have a vehicle that meets the requirements, but still want to visit? We have partnered with Marc at Red Dirt Car Service and have several happy guests that have already used this transportation service! Please send an inquiry for more information. ✨ TECHNOLOGY & CELL SERVICE ✨ Bella Vista now has AT&T Internet and there is cell phone service! Verizon and AT&T work best, while Sprint and T-Mobile are limited. There are no TVs or cable. You will need to bring your own entertainment and pre-download your movies on your own device before arriving. Bear Creek Vacations is not responsible for reliability of internet or outages from service provider. WiFi is provided as a convenience only and is not integral to the use the property. No refund of payments shall be given for outages, content, lack of content, speed, access problems, lack of knowledge of use or personal preference regarding services. ✨ BOATS, TRAILERS & ATVs, oh my! ✨ → Boats & Trailers: Please do not try to bring a boat up to any of our cabins on the mountain! You will likely regret it, we promise! 😉 All jokes aside, Beavers Bend Marina has slips that you can rent for your stay and it’s super convenient to leave your boat in the water. They can also provide a place to leave your trailer! → ATVs: You can ride straight into the Ouachita National Forest from our property! Please check with the US Forest Service for all laws regarding ATV riding. It’s possible for a group of riders to rack up several thousand dollars in fines. Bear Creek Vacations will not be held responsible for any tickets, violations or accidents. ✨ GRILL & FIRE ✨ The grill is propane and directly wired into the house. Instead of a propane tank, you will see a timer. There is a fire pit. Please bring matches. Our cleaning service no longer provides firewood. ✨ MAX OCCUPANCY ✨ Bella Vista sleeps 4. Due to fire marshal regulations and insurance purposes, the number of guests per cabin is strictly enforced. Additionally, our off-grid systems cannot sustain more than the max number of guests. ✨ PUP-FRIENDLY ✨ Maximum of 2 dogs allowed. No cats. Pet Fee: $150 per stay. Please review house rules and pet policy prior to bringing your pets to avoid additional charges. → Check out our other mountain cabin rentals: ○ The Summit House: VRBO listing #807469 ○ The Phoenix Rising: VRBO listing #1282867 ○ The Cliffhouse: VRBO listing #496066

My fiancé and I very much enjoyed our stay here! December is an underrated time to book this spot. Fewer bugs and the heater in the cabin worked perfectly.
We definitely recommend following the vehicle requirements to make those last 5 miles to the cabin. We rented a Toyota Highlander and it was well worth it.
Views were spectacular, especially during sunrise! Favorite details: the porch swing, cooking with a view from the kitchen, and the comfy king-size bed.
Recommendations/tips: Save an offline map of the area on Google Maps before your trip! Service is spotty for T-Mobile. Screenshot or print check-in details as well. Google maps will lead you to the correct destination but we appreciated the detailed directions as a back-up. We're not picky about our morning coffee but we do drink a good amount so we personally brought our own coffee grounds, sugar, and creamer. Keep an eye on night time temperatures and follow their instructions for taking care of the pipes if it happens to get cold.
The owners/property manager Ashley were quick to respond to any questions. We had no issues during our stay so we didn't need to bug them much :) We would definitely book this spot again!

This has probably been the best cabin experience my husband and I have ever had. Driving into the national forest to get to the cabin was an adventure in itself and once we arrived we didn’t want to leave. The porch swing and lake view was so peaceful. The cabin amenities were everything we needed. The bed was comfy. We will have to visit again.

Everything about our stay was amazing. The town, the cabin, the views! I wish we could have stayed longer!

We needed a place for R & R and this was the perfect place. Quiet and clean and the view from the windows was amazing. Ashley, the manager, was great!

This was our 5th time staying at one of their four properties and we fall more in love each time!!! This is their newest cabin and it was so cute. My sister in law and her 1 year old stayed in it. There is a nice area behind it that was great for the kids to run around. Hindsight I wouldn’t have put the toddler in this cabin, only because of the cliff on the patio but zero complaints!

If you want to be away from ALL THE TWIRLING SWIRLING NEVER ENDING HUBUB OF THINGS, yes.
If you want to reconnect with life, yes.
If you want to sleep or hike or sing or sit or play or throw rocks or skip or sit or meditate or hug trees and see mushrooms and deer and bats and misty fog and feel moss and hear turkeys and leaves falling and water flowing etc, YES.
Bring yourself, your tired, your poor, your huddled masses yearning to breathe free.
Just get there.
You’re welcome.
Namaste.

The property was beautiful! A great little hideaway spot to get away from the fast paced life. We hiked and enjoyed the beautiful Mountain View's of the lake and surrounding forests! Recommend it for a great get spot!

Believe the reviews! Bella Vista is a perfect getaway for peace and quiet. All you can hear are birds and other wildlife. The views are breathtaking. We had everything we needed and the property is beautiful. I honestly can not say one negative thing. My husband brought his ATV and there was plenty of exploring to do! As other reviewers have said, the pictures do not do it justice. We are already planning our next trip in the spring.

Loved the cabin! It is definitely secluded. It was about a 30 minute drive from the main road and the last bit was pretty steep in areas. No complaints, just be prepared. The views were worth the drive! The only issue we had was with the gate at first. The keypad was being ornery but didn't have any trouble after that first time coming and going. If it doesn't work the first time, just keep trying.
I would definitely go back to this cabin or another on the property.

This place was perfect if you are looking to get away in a cabin from people, the city and enjoy a beautiful view. Hiking is a bit rough, paths are pretty steep but what do you expect on a mountain.
Only con about this cabin is no curtains. For myself it’s no problem but my wife likes to sleep in and we needed a dark room for our baby. But I don’t blame them for not putting curtains up when the view is that beautiful.

My wife and I made a “spur of the moment”decision to take our pontoon boat and head for Broken Bow/Beavers Bend lake for a three night getaway. And after reading reviews and seeing the pictures of the property, we’re sold on Bella Vista!! Upon arriving in Hochatown, we promptly rented a slip at the Beaver Bend Marina, left our boat there, and headed up the mountain to Bella Vista. The 25 minute drive up to the cabin (after you turn off highway 259) was beautiful and somewhat less of a challenge than expected. However, parts of the road are a little bumpy and not suited for travel by any vehicle with a low ground clearance. We were in our Ford F-150 2WD truck and we had no issues at all.
The cabin was exactly as described in the listing. It was very clean, well maintained, and furnished nicely. It even had fire wood for the outside fir pit, although I’m not sure if that’s standard. We always take everything we need, however the property had some coffee and some assorted spices. We had good cell coverage (AT&T) but as stated in the property listing, there is no television. The property Owners/managers were very gracious and responded rapidly with last minute information regarding check in including door and gate codes.
We highly recommend Bella Vista for anyone who is seeking a short reprieve from life’s hustle and bustle :)

Great View and lovely Cabin. Definitely a good place for vacation.

My husband and I recently stayed here for our “Babymoon” with the pups. Everything was fantastic. Place was super clean and had everything we needed (dishes, silverware, mug, glasses, basic grilling utensils, cutlery, clean towels, etc.) . We spend more time just up at the cabin than in town. Host are responsive if needed at a good timely rate. Even text you instructions (ended up being needed because we had 0 service entire time unless in town and still was a bit spotty). Cabin has wifi so we had access to stuff. Super big open windows in both rooms to just enjoy nature and watching sunrise/sunsets.
Highly recommend people to read ALL of the instructions and even take them more seriously than what is stated. We have a decent sized truck and it still made me a little nervous definitely will if you arent used to off roads the first time or two going up and down the property, but the 30ish min drive up from the main road soooo worth it. You will be able to spot different wildlife on the drive. Directions given to property are pretty easy if followed correctly.
Will definitely recommend to friends that want a good little getaway! Will use again in the future!

We loved our stay in this remote cabin! The views were amazing and the peace and quiet was priceless. The cabin has everything you need to have the comforts of home, but enjoy the beauty around. The drive in was an adventure in itself. Make sure to have the proper vehicle like suggested. If you want to get away from all the craziness of the world, you would love this place. We will be going again!

I loved the exclusive feel of the place. The hike down to the lake and the views from the balcony were astonishing.
Highly recommend staying here if you are breaking away from technology and looking for a getaway.
The Wi-Fi isn’t strong, but when you get to the place, you will realize that it wasn’t needed even for my 6 and 8 year old.
We enjoyed every moment

Came here for a two night retreat to unplug. It was everything we needed! It was so great we luckily were able to stay an extra night! Do heed the vehicle requirements as we did but most SUVs should make it no problem. It’s a ~25 minute drive to any store one way so pack what you need. Possibly the best secret in broken bow!!!

My husband and I booked this cabin soley based on the views and we were not disappointed. We took an ATV up and rode many trails but definitely note the type of vehicles that would be able to handle the drive up the mountain. The cabin was perfect for the two of us with a beautiful view and all the items you would need. There is Wi-Fi and it worked most of the time but don’t depend on it if you plan on working from the cabin. The property manager and owner helped us quickly with any and all questions we had. Bring flashlights for nighttime and bug spray. Overall it was perfect for what we were needing.

This place was even better than the pictures! Gorgeous views, cozy home, comfy blankets and beds! Honestly haven’t been to a rental that had such great comforters and blankets. It’s the little things that matter to me :). I will caution you- I’m a city girl and the drive in nearly gave me a panic attack the first time. TRUST THE PROCESS and directions provided! It is so worth it when you pull in and see that view. The drive got better after that first time but it was definitely nerve wracking for me. There are no blinds or curtains in the home, so you will rise with the sun. My family and I are normally sleeping until about 8or 9, but honestly did not mind waking with the sun with those views. If this bothers you, I’d suggest bringing sleeping mask.
Overall wonderful stay for our little family , we will definitely be coming back.

Our stay was amazing! The drive up to the cabin was beautiful but once we arrived we knew right away that the pictures we had seen did not do it justice. It took our breath away and continued to do so everytime we looked out the window or sat on the patio. And speaking of the patio there is a swing that is large enough to sleep on, a gas grill, gas fireplace and also a firepit that burns wood logs. The cabin was exceptionally clean and well designed. The kitchen had everything you would need to cook your meals and dinnerware as well. The shower was large and had a window you could look out of but others would not be able to see in.
There is plenty to do such as hiking and fishing or just relax and read a book, talk with family, friends or that special someone.
If I could give 10 stars I would!

Bella vista was exactly as expected. Quite and secluded.

My husband and kiddos (3 and 5) and I had an amazing time at the Bella Vista cabin. Stunning views that pictures simply cannot capture! The first night was clear, and I can honestly say I have never seen so many beautiful stars in the sky in my life. It was breathtaking. The AC unit, as mentioned in a couple previous reviews, was very dirty. It blew chunks of dirt and what looked like mold on to the couch underneath it so we didn’t use that couch. Some of the dishes and things in the kitchen had mild dust on them. But aside from that, this place was just so amazing and perfect. Even with the AC unit and kitchen dust, I would still 100% recommend this place to my friends and family! I would love to return with my family, I would just hope the AC unit would be cleaned on the regular.
My family loves to hike so we did tackle the steep trails. We really wanted to go to the water and weren’t exactly sure how to get there so we went off trail and followed the creek to the lake. It was a crazy adventure! But worth it and we had so much fun!
I agree with what others have said - it’s remote and what Broken Bow used to be like back in the day. I loved the seclusion, loved the wildlife, loved the views. 10/10 recommend!

We really enjoyed the seclusion and overall peace this cabin provided. We went as a family for a “baby moon” before baby sister arrives! Incredible views.
The cabin itself smelled a bit strange upon entering but figured it was just a different cleaning product they used. Only major issue is an electrical issue. We were shocked multiple times on the oven and outside paneling of the cabin. My two year old was also shocked. We let the property manager know and she was swift in getting us in contact with the owner who called us to get it figured out. With it being a Saturday it was of course difficult to get an electrician out there so we did leave a day early. He did seem very conferenced about the issue and resolving the problem.
Overall great stay! And we would definitely come back. Maybe without a toddler though!
