Friendly, fun and relaxing!

Friendly and helpful staff. Beautiful jungle surroundings. Great choice of activities. Fantastic view from the Tree Top Apartment!

we booked three rooms,,of which one was in the main building and didn’t have AC. The staff were very helpful in providing extra fans, but if AC is important to you I recommend double checking with the hotel when you book. the other two rooms both had AC and worked perfectly.

Nice atmosphere and good value for money

Nice stay, beautiful room and kind employees. the view is amazing. The best location you can ask for.

There was a shared kitchen under my room, when people were cooking I could smell the food in my room

little paradise close to the buzzling street

the bungalow was just perfect for the 4 of us. beds were nice and comfortable and we really liked the open-air bathroom. the chef made the best meals, dinner as well as breakfast.

Costa Rica has so much to offer, and the options are overwhelming. We were looking for something that wasn’t too fussy,

we loved the location, close to everything but secluded enough to be away from the street noise. the grounds are beautifully maintained and the monkeys stopped by for a visit.

If I had to say anything that might help the property improve a travelers stay - it’s the mattress. I would recommend something more comfortable, otherwise everything is top notch.

Great lodge, great location, and great people!

I loved the location, the room, and the pool. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The bartender/cook Matías whipped up some great meals every day, and the manager Guido always had a great playlist going. I highly recommend the Funky Monkey if you're a surfer, or if you just want to chill in Santa Teresa for a while.

The bed mattress was too firm for my liking. I like softer mattresses.

Jungle by the beach

Loved the room, the balcony, the hammock, the yoga and the pool and the bar when it was open

True Santa Teresa experience

Super helpful and friendly staff that made our trip every bit easier. Rooms were rustic yet comfortable. Great facilities (pool and yoga loft). Would definitely recommend- great location too.

Great place on its knees - in desperate need for a makeover

Great location and well-designed place. Lots of trees giving the place a nature feel despite being in the centre of Santa Teresa. Great pool.

It’s peaked and is now very worn out. Maintenance is almost non-existing and cleaning is not even close to what you’d expect from a place like this.

Really great lodge in the jungle, perfect location and very helpful staff

Location was perfect for Santa Teresa, near the beach but high enough to feel as if you are in the jungle. Facilities were great, especially the pool. Staff were very helpful and able to book everything we needed for us, including a surf lesson with their instructor.

It's in the jungle so quite a few insects and lizards!

Superb

Very nice Argentinian group managing the hotel, great facilities with pool, yoga area, restaurant and communal kitchen. Close to a beautiful beach & other good restaurants. Definitely a place where you’ll feel at home and just enjoy (beach & surf) life.

One of the more expensive places we’ve stayed in during our CR trip but feels like everything in Santa Theresa is a bit more pricey.

Very special location with the nicest people in Santa Teresa

The location is really nice! A short walk to everything in Santa Teresa and very close to the beach! We liked the lush green garden at the lodge and the amazing view from our room! The staff at Funky Monkey welcomed us and made us feel like home! Special thanks to Guido, Antonella and Nacho! We would like to come back again!

The staff is super friendly, the place is amazing.

Location was wonderful, tucked up in the trees away from the business of the town. I miss the tree house vines already. I loved hanging out on the hammock and looking at the trees, trying to see animals. They had everything you need on the property, kitchen, restaurant, pool. It’s within walking distance of a grocery store. Bring your reusable bag to shop! Funky monkey is within walking distance of the beach, all kinds of restaurants, (Eat Street is great. Very eco friendly if you don’t get it to-go), and shopping! I would definitely return to funky monkey and try to stay more than a few days. It’s that awesome.

The music at the bar under our room was a little loud the first night. I was kind of upset because I was tired from traveling all day, and just wanted to hear the peacefulness of nature.

The worst ratio price-quality for an hotel (stayed 1 month in Costa-Rica) Room not clean Very poor quality, old stuff Bathroom = horrible, a 10 years old soap never refilled, humidity and dirty everywhere Swimming pool water = "yellow - green opaque liquid"

The spot was amazing! The staff are all very friendly and helpful. Our room, the treetop bungalow was beyond incredible, we had our own hot tub on the deck and the views of the sunrises and sunsets were unbeatable.

Not that it needed to be better, but the stairs up to the top are very steep and long and there should probably be a disclaimer somewhere in regards to people who are older or have any physical ailments.

So peaceful, nice location, close to everything Staff guys are amazing, Guido, Antonella and the other girl with dreads (sorry I can’t remember the name) were amazing hosts Restaurant very good, fresh food served in your table. Nice pool, and I really liked the yoga deck too Tons of things to do in the hotel and activities scheduled for the guests

Everything about this place is a fantastic vibe. loved it all. The people , the great chef Matias. Food was fantastic. Come you will love it.

Very nice atmosphere, the personnel is super welcoming and helping with any questions. I liked the location a lot. Close to the beach, cafes and restaurants but yet very calm. I loved the outdoor bathroom in the bungalow.

Amazing hotel and staff!!!

Staff is amazing, super cleam, great yoga class and food! Sushi’s Wednesday is a must go!

If you’re a woman traveling solo I don’t recommend because at night the street to the hotel is empty and dark.

Relaxed and comfortable stay, close to nature in the jungle.

The staff were friendly and helpful and able to organise a variety of activities for us. The food and drinks were also very good and the communal areas comfortable and well maintained. Nice to relax in after a day surfing/exploring.

The communal kitchen needs a little more attention. It could be amazing but felt a little tired.
