Great location

Location is great very close to hiking trails and town. Beautiful at sunset overlooking ocean. Staff were great, very helpful and friendly. Hot tub and pool area are amazing. Gym is a little small but has everything you need. Bar with happy hour during sunset was nice although the food and service provided in restaurant could be improved.

The bathroom was very nice and had some toiletries available. The bedroom was very basic and didn't represent the price. The hotel reception and building itself is beautiful so was very surprised when we got to the room and it wasn't what we expected. Very dark and sparse. Not impressed with the room at all.

Gorgeous location, comfortable & clean room, great staff.

Astoundingly beautiful location, hiking trails started right outside the resort. Outdoor hot tubs, yes, more than one! Massages were great. 'Private' balcony had beautiful view through the forest to the ocean. Could watch the waves crashing on the rocks in the gentle rain while being dry on the balcony.

The restaurant was not good value & expensive. The lounge, with a stunning view, wasn't open until 3pm. Since the location shut down their coffee bar, it would be great to have that available through the lounge during the day.

Memorable.

From arrival to departure everything was fantastic. Could not find any fault at all. The reception staff were so welcoming and helpful. We arrived a little early and our room was ready. Everything in the room was spotless. Bed was so comfy, we haven't slept so well in a long time. We were able to have the sliding door on to the balcony open and just close the screen so the sound of the sea was beautiful.

Cannot in all honesty find any fault at all with Black Rock Resort.

Perfect ocean front stay

The location is superb, right at the ocean, spectacular view from our room. The studio was really nice with a beautiful bathroom. Restaurants are wonderful and the staff was very friendly.

The hotel had a water problem during our stay, so they credited a full night, which was a good service. Pricy restaurants, but our food looked great and was delicious

Overpriced, overrated?

Good location right next to wild Pacific rim trail in popular Ucuelet. Great views from some rooms (though not ours)

. Our room was the cheapest option as we couldn't justify spending more . We had a forest view which was very dark. We needed the lights on all the time. The fridge needed defrosting so rumbled all night. The room was hot (no AC) but we couldn't leave the balcony door open at night as we were just above ground level. There were half bottles of wine in the room for $33 each! We don't mind paying high prices but don't feel these were justified. There are lots of other resorts and nice b and bs in ucluelet offering equally good views, and probably more personal service too.

We stayed for 2 nights and I was happy to be leaving on check out day.

Large windows in the lounge area

Beds were too soft and pillows were worn out. I would never put pillows in such condition in my beds at home. There were lots of bugs in the room. Have you ever heard of spraying? Restaurant staff were great but after our meal we felt like going somewhere for a burger because the portions were so small and expensive.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We loved our stay (1st time) at the Black Rock. Being Pet friendly was awesome and reasonably priced. The live entertainment was great Saturday night and we experienced two amazing meals in the main restaurant Currents. Our view was listed as "Partial", but it was a beautiful full view of the ocean and had a huge balcony.

We didn't like the check in/out times at all. We had to drive 3 hours to get to Ucluelet and arriving earlier would have been nicer. Conversely, checking out at 10am seems early by industry standards. I have travelled extensively, and this seems odd to me. A resort of this Caliber from my experience, would normally be later, (11am or noon) than earlier. Guests in the room beside ours, visiting from Ontario, shared the same opinion as us also.

Black Rock Oceanfront Resort is a perfect place to stay in Ucluelet! One-Bedroom Lodge Suite(Partial View) was very pleasant, clean and spacious with complete kitchenette. I am a big fan of soak tub. it was incredibly comfortable. People working at the reception are very kind and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.
