Strand, gutes Essen, Ice Creme, relaxen

Die Lage bis zum Strand und zu mehreren guten Restaurants war super. Auch der Besitzer hat uns bei verschiedenen Fragen ausgeholfen und uns sehr willkommen empfangen. Das leckere Frühstück wurde auf dem gemütlichen Balkon, um die gewünschte Uhrzeit, serviert. Kann das Homestay wärmstens empfehlen, um ein paar schöne Strandtage, im eher ruhigen Bentota, zu verbringen

Fantastisch verblijf

Mooie ruime kamer met prima werkende airco, een fantastisch bed met klamboe, een heel ruim balkon en een ruime badkamer.

Es war okay

Die Freundlichkeit des Personals. Das Frühstück war mit dreierlei Früchten und Toastbrot erfreulich. Das wifi hat einwandfrei funktioniert. Die aircon war gradgenau einstellbar und funktionierte gut.

Die Matratze war durch ein Metallgeflecht ziemlich unbequem, wir hatten beide Rückenschmerzen. Das Zimmer war sehr klein, da ist kein Platz mehr für einen (kleinen) Tisch mit Stuhl. Das Frühstück auf der Gemeinschaftsterrasse war täglich begleitet von einem Abwehrkampf gegen Fliegen (gemeine Stubenfliege). Für unsere Wäsche wurden 1.300 LKR pro Kilo verlängt (befreundete Wäscherei), das war ungefähr das 3-fache, was wir sonst auf unserer Rundreise bezahlt haben.

Le bonheur de partager le quotidien de gens adorables avec tout le confort nécessaire

Vous aurez affaire à des gens adorables que vous aurez du mal à quitter ,le logement est propre, pratique et proche de tout. le petit déjeuner est excellent, tartines et fruits, le tout frais et bon . C’est certainement l’un des meilleurs rapport qualité prix sur Bentota. Vous vous sentirez comme à la maison.

Een heerlijk verblijf inclusief uitgebreid ontbijt voor een redelijke prijs.

Het was erg schoon, dicht bij het strand en erg vriendelijk en hulpvaardige gastheren. De vrouw waste zelf mijn broek nadat er in een tuk tuk een grote vlek was gekomen.

Alles was goed.

A good place next to the beach and quite central.

If you are in Bentota, I don't think of any other place than this to recommend you. Nice place, good breakfast and everything is within walking distance. Thanks a lot.

Not as expected.

The family that runs the place is very nice and kind. good a/c. Clean place.

not beach front as mentioned. no view at all. the bed was so uncomfortable. the sheets were crumbling (literally) .the toilet barely worked even after they fixed it.

Exceptional

Great location, close walk to the beach, train station and nice restaurants but very quiet also. Breakfast was also very good and freshly made. The owners were lovely, so friendly and welcoming. They aloud us to leave our bags after check out till our late taxi and even offered us to use their facilities once we checked out. Will definitely return if we visit Bentota again.

Excellent home stay

Comfortable rooms. Lovely people. Use of kitchen & iron. Peaceful village next to a beautiful beach. Restaurants are expensive because of the location but Aluthgama is nearby which is cheaper. Transport connections good. Second time we have stayed here and will again

Loved it!!

You could not meet a nicer, more helpful and sweet family that own this homestay. From the moment we arrived to when we left, their hospitality was fantastic. Very comfortable room with big bed, powerful fan and A/C, very clean as is the whole property. Breakfast was delicious and huge with fresh fruit, eggs, toast & jam. Lots of tea/coffee and some lovely Sri Lankan extras too (the fish balls are superb!!!). It's perfectly positioned and is really peaceful. The beach is only a couple of minutes walk away as is the town. We can definitely recommend Bentota Homestay and would stay again on our next visit. Thank you for your kindness, we had a fabulous stay.

Very good

The place is just 5 mins from the beach. If you are looking for a budget stay near the beach definitely consider it. The hosts made some local authentic Sri Lankan food for us at breakfast. They even helped us with a bit of local shopping.

Nice, quiet place

I enjoyed my stay, the couple was really nice and helpful in giving me directions, an umbrella and making a good breakfast at the times I needed. The room was cleaned and it had a mosquito net! The beach was just down the street!

It was a very good stay.

The hosts were extremely sweet and took good care of my mother and I. The room and bathroom were clean and tidy. They served us with an amazing breakfast.

Home from home

Owners were hospitable and welcoming. Location is excellent short walk to the beach. Room was very comfortable with a terrace for breakfast. Small kitchen for guests to use. Very peaceful area but only short walk to shops and restaurants. Bentota has an excellent beach. Felt very much at home and will definitely stay again.

A piece of paradise

The place is absolutely magical. Near the road and the station, yet absolutely quiet. The beach is a few minutes walk and is absolutely amazing. The rooms are clean, spacious, the possibility of using the kitchen. There is a spacious terrace, full of birds. Beautiful place.The owners are amazing people who will fulfill every wish. I would definitely choose this accommodation again next time. Breakfast was classic and always something extra from the hostess's kitchen. And always excellent.

Time passes so fast :-) There is nothing to complain about.

I loved everything about this Homestay. The couple who own the place are 2 of the nicest, kindest and most helpful people that we have met in Sri Lanka. The room and house are our favourite place we stayed in Sri Lanka too, the room is very nice with perfect facilities and a comfortable bed. Hot water, ac etc are all perfect. Generous, tasty breakfast. Superb location 5 mins from both the beach and a supermarket. Excellent kitchen, nice balcony area. We have nothing but good to say about this place!

Big let down which ended our travels of Sri Lanka with great disappointment

LONG REVIEW ALERT! So much! I’m sure a lot of people will see my one negative review amongst all the great ones and think ‘there’s always one’ but there’s a lot more than one, I just think people don’t speak up and they should. I do not understand how all the reviews we read prior to booking were so positive. The guy we communicated with via telephone/internet agreed we had been significantly let down with many things so maybe we were just very very unlucky? Anyway here’s an honest review of our experience.... We expected an abundance of friendliness having read previous reviews yet on our arrival we were just shown to our room and left, this seemed really rude and we hadn’t experienced this at any of the other 8 properties we stayed at in Sri Lanka. Our room was incredibly dark and dingy, not at all as it appeared online. Our hearts sank. We’d booked one night here with a view to adding on another night for our final two days in Sri Lanka, we just wanted to settle having travelled for nearly 3 weeks but there was no way we could stay any longer than we had booked. We did ask if there were any brighter nicer rooms (with a balcony which is what we had booked) but we were just told no, not a word more! They guy in the room next door had a completely different room (we’d booked the best room they had by the way so they couldn’t say we had a lower grade room because of what we paid). His room was light, bright and airy and opened out onto the balcony (we saw into his room as he had all the doors open). Our room was terrible, the one window in the bedroom opened out onto a view of a washing machine and items dumped on the floor-nice! We couldn’t open it as we would have zero privacy! Our bathroom window didn’t shut and mosquitos were getting in so we asked the hosts for help with this.
