Fantastic Spot

I read some mixed reviews on this place but I thought it was fantastic. My review is based on Me (40) and my 2 kids, 13 & 20. We stayed in one of the rooms with 2 bunk beds. We thought this was great compared to a family room the bunks were big and spacious and the room we were in was so big had a TV and a fridge and a separate shower to toilet room with a double sink. We had two beautiful pools outside our door and there are two more deeper pools to use as well. The staff were so nice and friendly! I see people going on about the breakfast well we were happy with it, this place cost me €35 for the night for 3 people, I don't know what people expect, but they had a little room next to reception and inside was two bags with our room number on them inside was hard boiled eggs bananas apples oranges and we got a sandwich which was so fresh and delicious, we took our bags with us down to the beach and had a picnic and the day we checked out we basically had a packed lunch to head off with. The little village Kia Bea is very nice as well lovely little places to eat and nice to walk around and there is a short stroll to be beach which is stunning!!

- Daily cleaning is fantastic - cleaners do a wonderful job! - Nice pools and outdoor area. - Mattress was so comfortable with great bed linen, duvet and pillows. - Great AC - worked wonderfully. - Nice to have fridge and safe. - Staff very helpful. - Great hot water in shower. - Lovely big bathroom. - Fantastic value for money with breakfast provided. - Daily 500ml water each provided and in fridge. - Such good value for money overall in a fantastic location.

MUST DO: - Pool area desperately needs to have sun loungers! There is so much space - no excuse not to include this! - Needs a full length mirror or wall mirror of some sort and hair dryer to get ready in the bedroom. Only mirror is in the bathroom with no power point. - Everything else is wonderful! SUGGESTIONS: - Power sockets beside the bed would be helpful. - Lighting is quite dull although length of it but the room is still dark. - A little more choice of sandwich at breakfast although amazing value so this is a small suggestion for improvement. - We stayed here 6 months ago and made the same comments so it would be great to see them being acted on.

Cool place would stay again

Great place, nice location, near food, beach two minutes walk. Really cool decor. Floor needs a bit of work but they're fixing it up. Three pools! Wow. Me and my Mother enjoyed it there. The rooms have high roofs and feel exotic.

Exceeded expectations.

Very helpful staff. Breakfast sandwiches were surprisingly good. Good value. Great pool for swimming laps. Very beautiful with an elevated boardwalk meandering among vegetation.

WiFi was slow and the bed was too firm for me.

The hotel is in a good location, close to bars, restaurants and shops. Cottages comfortable, clean, well equipped. Perfect pool. Breakfast ok, sandwich, juice, fruit, boiled eggs, tea coffee. Enough. It is worth renting a scooter to explore the island. I recommend

Exceptional

I originally booked for 1 night and ended up staying more. It was perfect! The staff are so welcoming and helpful(especially the trainee staff). I had made 3 separate bookings but they was extremely organised and had the paperwork ready. The rooms + pool area are spotlessly clean and spacious, with good outdoor seating for both. Well equipped rooms, with comfy beds, working a/c, hot shower, working Wi-Fi + a fridge. Toilet paper and water provided regularly. Perfect location, close walk to the beach and many restaurants. I hope to visit again!

Booked very last minute.It exceeded our expectations and the pool was fab.Had a lovely time!

The pool was fantastic for anyone who likes swimming.The breakfast was a change from the norm pre packed really fresh sandwiches,fruit and fresh juices.The room was very spacious.Good location very close to bars and shops and only 5 mins walk to the beach.

Not enough plug sockets+no kettle.

The location was fantastic, 2 lovely beaches within a few minutes walking distance, plenty of bars, restaurants and shops nearby but still a very quiet peaceful place to stay. The staff were lovely, friendly and helpful.

We had read in the comments that the breakfast was 7 eleven style sandwiches with fresh fruit, hard boiled eggs, instant coffee and Lipton tea. This is true but as we were expecting it it was fine, especially as it was included in the very reasonable price. We didn't use the pool as the beaches were so beautiful but it looked fine and was cleaned daily. Sunbeds next to the pool would have been nice instead of plastic chairs

Relaxing, lovely place

The staff were very helpful when my bus didn't show up, they went out of their way to sort things out for me. I am very grateful. The week I spent at The Stage was very relaxing. A lovely place.

coming to the stage since 12 years, nice location, very central and spacious little bungalows.

this year i was very disappointed, as i know the stage for many years i was always happy with breakfast, the switched loction of breakfast joint 3 times but it was always nice to seat, not much selection but eggs, cereals, fruits etc...this year i was looking forward again but very strange, the serve ready paperbags you can pick up at reception [there is only a poor little girl how barely speaks and english, friendly but not really helping]. bags contain tunaspread sandwiches sitting unchilled 2h in 30 degrees, or fried chicken, fried cold rice and 2 boiled eggs with no salt etc...not really a breakfast for western people..so if u read breakfast included be aware of that. no more sunloungers at pool, just uncomfortable plastic chairs, also what changed to negative.hope it will change soon again for good was always a good place for money!krap!

Biting ants in bed

Location

My room and bed were infested with biting ants during my last night. I had to abandon my room at 04:00. No one at front desk the entire stay. The pool was not clean. Check in was easy, spacious rooms, perfect for backpackers.... Not resort style guests

A place to go back.

This place its really amazing, rooms are really big compare to other hotels, staff super friendly and helpful. Air Con, in the room help to keep dry the room specially during monsoon rains which makes humid air and wet everything.

Anyway, the staff here is always top notch.

we were alone in the whole hotel, do you think it was great. We advise everyone to visit, we have already replaced 5 hotels in 2 weeks, this is the best we have found.

pools are not clean, and if they clean, then bleach is thrown directly into the pool.

It's alright

Bed was comfortable. Location is great, close to the beach and many restaurants, bars, 7-eleven, shops, etc. Room is very spacious and A/C works well.

Because of Covid and/or low season, reception is not staffed and you must give them a phone call to get someone over to help, check-in or check-out. None of the (4?) pools was clean when I checked in and looked like they were not used in a long time. One was closed completely and the other 3 needed a thorough cleaning. They got cleaned by the time I checked out 3 nights later, but the main pool remained a green-ish color. The room has many openings where animals can get in, so you end up with a decent amount of geckos, ants and other bugs inside. The light is a bit weak in the room, it stays very dark at night. Only one place with 4 electrical outlets, next to the TV and fridge, so no outlet close to the bed. Wifi was good when it was working, but connection was dropping frequently. The roof is very thin, so when it rains a lot it's extremely loud.

Pleasant stay not far from the beach.

The rooms were spacious, clean and away from other rooms with no outside noise. The location was good, not far from the beach and plenty of bars, restaurants and shops around. It was easy to find songtaews to the other parts of the island.

The pool looked unclean and uninviting. The staff were polite and helpful but often there was nobody at the reception desk to help customers.
