The City of Palm Springs ID#1171 Modern kitchen with stone counters & stainless steel appliances opens to the family room that includes vaulted ceilings, gas fireplace, & multiple sliding glass doors that open to private patio as well as to separate private pool. This residence is nestled in Araby Cove in South Palm Springs just below the prestigious Southridge Estates. Hollywood celebrities such as Bob Hope, Steve McQueen, and William Holden were long-term residents of Southridge. A glimpse of the iconic Elrod Lautner Estate can be seen from this Araby Cove home, where the James Bond film "Diamonds Are Forever" was filmed. The five bedroom ranch-home, with more than 3,300 square feet of interior living, was recently upgraded combining its great location with many amenities and charming characteristics such as the vaulted wood-beamed ceilings, many clerestory windows, and arched windows in the entertainment room to expose the spectacular views of the desert landscape. The home was perfectly planned for entertaining or a relaxing oasis. From the moment of arrival at the half circular driveway through the double front-doors the attention to detail will amaze you. The home is laid out in bamboo flooring and features an entertainment oasis with pool table and plenty of flat screen TVs around. A formal dining room is available in addition to a breakfast area, sit at bar, and enjoy easy access to the outdoor dining area (seating for 10 around the fire table along with 6 seats around the patio table). The adjacent great room is perfect for gatherings around the fireplace. For intimate ambiance and solitary space, the home features many private nooks and patios for tranquility. Sun-worshiping is still allowed here for a full day poolside. Mindful repose beckons during the evening's foremost sunsets, then rejoice around the outdoor 7 foot long custom fire table with room for everyone to enjoy under a sea of stars. There are so many great eateries and restaurants near us, and most are a ten minute bike ride away, or a five minute car ride. Try Cheeky's breakfast, or the Manhattan in the Desert walking distance for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Try Nina's if you're in the mood for Mediterranean, Tyler's for burgers and El Jefe for great Mexican at the Saguaro Hotel just up the road. All of these spots are less than five minutes away from our home. We are five minutes away from Downtown Palm Springs, fifteen minutes from the Aerial Tram, and very close to all other major attractions. If you have a bike, you could bike to downtown in roughly 10-15 minutes, and even to local restaurants and a super market in less than 5 minutes. There's also a local Palm Springs shuttle, which is free (you can find more info online) Pool Heating: *Pool heating if desired must be hired in advance for the whole stay: $150 for the first day then $100/day thereafter. We stayed for four days and played 36 holes of golf a day for three days. An ambitious 108 holes of golf, but we had a blast. The house has two Master suites, one on each end of the house. The back yard is very nice with a large fire table, BBQ area, Putting Green and Pebbletech (easy on the toes) swimming pool. The neighborhood is really quiet so we were a little intimidated to make noise outside, even during regular hours in the day. Lots of parking on property with half circle driveway and ample garage space. If you're a golfer Indian Canyons Golf Course is right around the corner. Also Indian Canyons adjacent is a great place for a day hike or day adventure in nature. Also conveniently a short walk or drive away is a shopping center with everything you would need. Close enough yet far enough away! My only concern when we walked in the door was for the price we paid, it was an older property. Mind you very very well kept! It was clean and free of wear and tear, we could not tell that it had ever been rented. Modern furniture is in great condition and well placed. Linens were plentiful and fresh along with beds comfy. Glassware like wine glasses, etc were lacking, but we noted that to the manager and I am sure they will take care of it. All and all we loved this property. The layout allowed for maximum privacy among guests. Lots of nooks and patios for sanctuary. We will be back!

We stayed here as a delayed Xmas family vacation, my wife and I, and our two adult children and their partners and two dogs. The house with five bedrooms was more than enough for us. The bedrooms are situated on both sides of the house, so we all had rooms that were relatively isolated. The house was quite fun. None of us were pool players but the pool table was surprisingly fun and used a lot. We loved playing corn hole and ping pong and while we were there, a putting green was installed. There are two antique pinball machines. Instructions were a bit unclear whether we could use them or not. The pool is on an automatic cycle for heating and not controllable and other than the first night which was very cold, the water temperature was great. The only negative about this house is the lack of a hot tub which would have been great during some of the cooler evenings. But there is a fire pit that is nice to sit around in the evenings. We were surprised about how much we liked this location having stayed previously in north/central Palm Springs. The neighborhood is very secluded and perfect for walking the dogs without having to worry about traffic. The wash is a great place to take a walk with the dogs and the Araby trail is also within walking distance. We thought that the close proximity to the shipping center might be noisy, but actually super convenient to be able to walk to the stores. Several of us were working at home and this house unexpectedly had many areas to sit at computers and to Zoom conference. Kitchen was well stocked with utensils and some basic spices. The best feature of the house, and the main reason we chose it, is the TV viewing area, with spacious and comfortable seating for the 6 of us. A completely enjoyable and relaxing time was had in this house.
