You feel like home. The atmosphere is amazing. The hotel is beautiful - rooms are clean, you’ve got there every possible detail perfected. They are also equipped with everything you need. The staff is truly helpful and nice and they make this place special.
Breakfast is served and very tasty.
There is enough place to park a car, very close walk to the beach and there are dog some friendly rooms so you can travel with your furry friend.
Nothing.

Seemed recently refurbed and was very clean. Friendly family run hotel. Lovely views and scenery.
Lack of TV although we understand the principal. Radio did not work!
Lovely bar area but lacked atmosphere.
Felt the dinner menu was quite expensive at £42.00, with limited choice.

The hotel is in an outstanding setting. The area was well kept, clean, and with good facilities nearby. The gardens were lovely. The room was beautifully designed and extremely comfortable. Dinner was delicious.
Although I enjoy listening to the radio, there was no TV in the room.

Beautiful room and bathroom, spotlessly clean, very comfy beds and nice products to use.
Staff were very good, lovely fishing hotel in a beautiful, convinient location for the NC500.
We will be back!
Food was lovely, however the portions were on the small side.

The decor was just beautiful.

Room was spacious, clean, beautifully decorated, the attention to detail was excellent. Both the dinners and breakfasts were top notch. Family run hotel and it shows, the hotel is impeccable and they obviously love what they do. Would definitely stay again. Don't often rate a hotel 10, maybe once or twice in 12+ years, but this one deserved it.
nothing.

Breakfast and breakfast staff
Our room 5 very noisey from 7:10am until ? Then again on The afternoon until 8:45pm I think due to the kitchen exhaust it was impossible to relax, I was going to sleep in the lounge downstairs when it stopped at 8:45pm when the kitchen staff went home.
Do not accept room 5.
They only offer a 3 course meal for dinner with no flexibility which is not good for a hotel claiming the rating.
Sorry but the water jug was a dangerous item, (see picture)

the bed was too short and the sheets as well.

The breakfast was very good. The location was good. The staff were friendly and helpful.
We were asked not to go through the dining room to get to our room from the reception area and vice versa, but instead to go outside and along the front of the building and in through the main door. This area was badly lit and wet when it was raining. At breakfast we did access the dining room through the inside as we were not willing to go all the way round in the rain.

Lovely traditional decor. Clean room, comfy bed with bathroom. Close to Scourie beach
Pricey evening ‘set’ meal. Would have been nicer to be able to choose , as normally don’t eat 3 courses.

This is a very traditional, very old-fashioned fishing hotel. Fabulous location with little local competition, on the best bit of the North Coast 500. Charming lounge and bar with log fires. Right beside a lovely little bay with a beach. Clientele? I’m in my fifties, and I was by some distance the youngest, barring a father & son on a fishing trip.
This was poor value for money. The room was pokey. It’s very rare today to find no tv in the room. Just an ancient Roberts transistor radio that looked like it was last used around the turn of the Millennium. A feeble shower, a toilet cistern that sounded like a train in a tunnel, and wallpaper peeling beneath the layers of admittedly-fresh paint. A light bulb - one of two - was out.
Dinner, at £40 for three courses, was very poor. Half a dozen whitebait, a smaller than usual salmon fillet served with three boiled half-potatoes and five mange tout. Yes, really. And three slivers of very dull predictable and non-local cheese, with three crackers straight from a Jacobs packet. Frankly, I’ve had better at a Premier Inn.
Very disappointing as this looked like being one of the best hotels on my trip. It wasn’t.

Expensive stay but an exceptional property.
Public rooms and bedrooms all immaculate.
Dinner and breakfast very good and staff friendly.
On 19September guests were told a tv would be broadcasting Queen Elizabeth’s funeral in the bar area and the owners also put on tea/coffee sandwiches and cakes - a lovely gesture.

Location very handy for the NC500, parking for motor bike around the side of property was nice and out of the way. 24hr card operated petrol station right next door. Staff were very friendly. Property is aimed at people going fishing. So if your vegetarian/vegan the countless caught fish displays inside might not be to your taste.
Was midge season so got attacked while unloading my bike.

This was our second stay here. The dinner was very disappointing and certainly not worth £39.50 - if this was our first visit we wouldn’t be back.
Quality of dinner not good.

The room was tired and did smell a bit damp. there was no tv in the room which was quite disappointing. we paid for the evening meal which was expensive for what you got.

The bathroom in the room and the lady in reception was lovely
Cobwebs on the inside of the windows, breakfast was ok but nothing special, need a wider range of foods on the menu didn’t end up eating tea, beds were uncomfortable. Overall over priced hotel.
