I'm giving our stay 5 stars despite a few issues because we absolutely loved this apartment. The main space is stunning, with a kitchen/dining area (kitchen not well-stocked with necessities like olive oil and sugar, so bring your own) opening onto a comfortable living room with a small balcony. The lovely primary bedroom opens onto the living area. It has curtained sliding glass doors (not the most private but okay for families). The two other bedrooms don't have windows, which isn't ideal, but the one with the king bed and private bath is luxurious anyway. The room with multiple twin mattresses (two on the hard side) was less comfortable but ok for kids. My only substantial complaint about this apartment is that there is major construction going on in the building, and I think this should be stated in the description of the property because if you stay on a weekday it will affect your experience. We were lucky to be staying over the Christmas holiday and only had to listen to the construction for one day, but that was quite enough. It was very loud and the stairwells were full of plaster dust. If we'd had to listen to the construction for the entirety of our stay I would have been really upset, but it was tolerable as it was. So I can very highly recommend this apartment for anyone coming on the weekend (when construction stops) and for those coming after construction is finished, which doesn't appear to be anytime soon. The hosts were friendly enough.

The apartment was nice and clean. Nice fully equipped kitchen. Location is great! Washer/dryer combo which doesn’t completely dry clothes, but it worked OK. Listing show parking as an amenity and this is jot true. Public parking is across the street available for $45/day. Listing does not mention that there is no active elevator and that the building is undergoing renovation. Machinery noise starts at 7AM and goes all day including power drills, hammering, power saws, etc. Communication with the host is pretty much nonexistent. She doesn’t respond at all even before arrival. The only contact was at checkin with her “partner”. She’s probably not available because she knows that all guests would complain about the state of the building.

The apartment is very, very good but the access leaves a lot to be desired. There is no lift for an apartment 3 storeys up and there are building works in progress which leaves plaster dust on every surface.Until the lift is in place this should be made clear in the description.

My family loved the courtyard view with casa Batlo. The location was amazing. Felt safe and so convenient. Inside the apartment was very clean and beds were really comfortable. Beautifully furnished and decorated. Washing machine worked well but no tumble dryer, which I assume normal in Europe. Coffee pods weren't there so I didn't use the espresso machine (I believe it was nespresso) but so many cafes on the street so it was fine. An americano coffee, prosciutto baguette sandwich, and empanada (I know it's called something else) from downstairs cafe were amazing just fyi! Construction starts around 8-9am every weekday and one morning it was very loud with drilling noise and that was the worst part of the stay. But workers get quiet around 10-11am (going to lunch?) so it doesnt last that long. For other mornings, construction workers were singing loud and woke me up but it was nice Spanish music and I kind of enjoyed it. lol. Unfortunately it doesn't look like construction will be finished anytime soon. We were totally fine with no elevator but the apartment is basically on the 3rd floor. The price is very reasonable because of construction so my family was aware and we were okay with these cons. Over all, we loved staying here!!

The apartment was very nice. However, it was advertised as having an elevator but, it was out of service and had been for quite some time. Having an elevator was a prerequisite if the apartment was not on the first floor due to having an elderly person with hip problems. Climbing 3 flights of stairs was brutal!!! Check-in was very awkward. Manu was to meet us - I called when we arrived and he just said to come up but we had no idea where we were to go. He finally met us at the top of the stairs but seemed to not be able to get away soon enough when we inquired about the elevator. He said we had been notified about the elevator but I never received anything. It would have been nice to have been able to make other housing arrangements. I never write negatives review but I never would have booked this apartment if I had known the elevator was not usable.

My wife, sister in law and niece all stayed at this apartment for three nights. It is a huge place, and very well decorated. Everything was perfect from check in to check out. The building is still under construction, and the elevator was not working yet, which we knew and agreed to before we rented. The place is in a great location, and inside couldn't be nicer. Great experience, and highly recommend.

There was no hot water in the apartment which meant freezing showers all week. Tried multiple times to contact host to let them know with no response. The whole building is under construction from 8am and in one room a sheer blind on a window is all that separates you from them in the morning. The dust and noise from builders we could tolerate as we were up early for work every day but the lack of hot water makes this property completely unacceptable for renting.

The apartment itself was fantastic, very spacious and clean. The location is very central too, however it is in a very busy part of Barcelona. Some of the main Gaudi buildings are nearby (Casa Batllo is on the same block, you can see if from this apartment in fact, La Padrera is a quick 5-10 minute walk), however you may want to take a cab to the Gothic Quarter. One drawback to this listing is the building is still undergoing construction, which was very loud and bothersome during most of the day. In addition, this construction was happening right outside one of the bedrooms, with nothing but a thin sheet on the window that did not do much to stop the workers from seeing inside. This lack of privacy was not appreciated. There is also not an elevator, so keep this in mind if you are unwilling or unable to climb three flights of stairs.
