Nice home in a nice neighborhood. Very clean and well kept. It is an older home so there were some things that were somewhat antiquated—the outlets and the cooktop for example. Aside from those few issues, it was a very nice stay for us.

The location was all for our family as we celebrated our mother's birthday. We were able to walk to Piedmont through the lovely neighborhood and were also walking distance to Safeway. Few outlets and mustiness betray the house's age and man, that tragic child's chair in the small bedroom has to go. There was no soap in the half bath and a call and email to the owner asking if there was any in the house and for help finding the wifi code went unanswered the entire weekend. However, the linens were clean and there were abundant towels, we had fun playing the games we brought at the dining room table and hanging out in the living room and on the porch. One of us located the wifi and we took turns with plugging in electronics. The house worked for us.

I stayed with a group of 5 ladies the weekend of March 23-25th. The house was BEAUTIFUL and such a joy to stay in. We loved cooking meals in the kitchen and enjoying the neighborhood. It was a quick, very walkable jaunt down to Piedmont and so close to the supermarket. The house itself was beautifully appointed and we never felt cramped. Judy was always very prompt in responding anytime I reached out to her. I admit, I did not read about the parking situation well-it's NOT the driveway out front, but around the side through a gate. Overall, a wonderful stay. I would recommend this home to anyone and appreciated Judy's responsiveness.

The house was cozy, but old and shabby in areas. The heater worked great. Location is very convenient to Piedmont Ave, College Ave and Telegraph. The cleaners need to look up as well as down. Top of the refrigerator was filthy (often a place to store food), cobwebs on the walls. Some instructions for the house were given in an email, but nothing in the house. We lost power and didn't know where the fuse box was. Found 3 in 1 oil in a random cupboard to fix a very squeaky bed. Worked well for a girls weekend.

We had a nice 3-night stay in this house with our two young sons (5 and 2 years old). The house isn't updated, but there's a lot of charm in its original layout and decor, and everything functions fine. The main two bedrooms are good-sized, and the third is a tiny room off of the kitchen (it took me a couple minutes to find it), and it was perfectly cozy for our 5-year-old son. One minor complaint is that the mattresses are older and very soft, but overall, we really enjoyed our stay, and we'd recommend this house to others.

The house was terrific, plenty of room to accommodate the 5 adults in our group, and in a nice location. We would have rated it 5 stars except for the nerve of the owner to have the roof replaced during our stay! We were contacted the day before we arrived letting us know that there would be work on the roof and that there would be "very little noise inside the house." We assumed that meant a minor repair or an assessment for future work. She said work would be Thursday and Friday of our three day stay and asked what time in the morning work could start -- we agreed to a 10 am start. The work extended into Saturday and began at 8 am Saturday morning. When work was going on, it was not possible to have a conversation in the house because of the noise. She had no business renting this home during a major repair and accepted our reservation and charged our card before having a conversation with us. We requested a 50% refund. Without further conversation she told us by email that she would refund $100. This is not someone we would do business with again.

This was the perfect place for my family to stay on vacation. The first day we got there we walked down the street to both the coffee shop and the grocery store to caffeinate and prepare for our stay. It is also with in waking distance from a few fun restaurants we tried during our stay. The house it self was quite comfortable and had all of the accoutrements we needed to make breakfasts in the mornings and hang out together in the evenings around the dining room table or tv for relaxing. It was convenient to have the laundry right there and easy enough to get it done before quiet hours. It was also nice to have the chairs out front to sit in during our sunny and 75 degree vacation. I emailed Judy a few times and she was always quick to respond and wonderful to work with.

Our biggest complaint would be about the owner. After we paid the security deposit, Judy never responded to any of our voicemails or emails regarding the final payment. We had to contact HomeAway with our questions. We even had to involve HomeAway to get our security deposit back. She did not provide any good customer service. With regards to the house, it is not mentioned that the washer/dryer was not located in the house, but in the backyard under the stairs. The stove is ancient. The majority of the windows did not have screens so a bird flew in while we were there and left a present on one of the beds. In general, this house is old and outdated. I would not recommend this property to anyone.
