Situated in Chikaming Township, this attractive cottage for $288 per night is a fantastic choice for your next vacation. Lake Shore property, footsteps down to the beach. An Invitation: Coastal Concepts, Inc., a design and development team, is excited to announce that its latest project, Shorewinds cottage, is now available to rent to discriminating guests. This stylish home is located on the beachside of Lakeshore Road in desirable Union Pier. The interior environment cleverly mixes the use of original artwork, artifacts, and antiques in a playful way that captures the essence of coastal living. French doors lead from the kitchen to a side patio that is adjacent to the beach path. Fenced for privacy, you can enjoy outdoor dining while listening to the waves crashing onto the shore. Dining furniture sits under the pergola-covered deck and is an inviting spot to spend the late afternoon relaxing with a good book and a beverage or outdoor dining. Seating is nestled by the firepit for late evening star gazing. This is a cottage that you'll be thrilled that you chose for sharing with your loved ones. : Reservations are not secured until a 50% rental deposit and a signed contract are received. The balance is due 60 days before the scheduled arrival along with a security deposit and housekeeping fee. There is a 3-night minimum for holiday and Special Event Weekends, at the weekend rate. Payment in full is required with bookings made less than 30 days in advance. Summer rentals are booked as a 8-day/7 night package only. All rentals begin on Saturday vening and end the following Saturday Morning.. Check in at 4pm and check out at 10am on Saturdays for weekly rentals. Cancellation fees may apply. Note, weekly rental cleaning rate is $275.00.

We had been staying for years at another property that stopped taking rentals and we were looking for our new happy place. We definitely found it! The property was exactly as the description stated and even better than the photos showed. No beach view but yes literally steps from the property to the path that leads to the beach. But still felt private and serene. The house was very clean and well furnished. We loved the natural light and the open layout inside, as well as the multiple exits to the cozy spaces outside. Joan the property manager was responsive and gave us clear communication re checkin/checkout. I brought birdseed as she suggested and spent hours on the front porch watching and listening to the birds. Highly recommend this place!

The whimsical cottage was so much more than any pictures on vrbo could show! we were surrounded by nature from the time we walked up on the front porch. Watching the birds was a total delight. Even saw a doe nosing around. Just out the garden gate and down a small path is the beach. There are several steps going down to the beach so if you are handicapped, bring your crutches or cane. There are gourmet restaurants, markets, and boutiques within five minutes. You can’t go wrong renting from Joan.

Easy to find; Person-less check-in; Easy back-door walk to beach; Nice fireplace; Nice open great room (better than photos); Peaceful setting (this area is full of little cottages sort of packed in, but you don't really notice); not much traffic on the street; excellent rate deal for early May (bang for buck). Good variety of bird sounds. Owner and grounds keeper responsive to any questions. No "howevers" here; just a good deal, no hiccups at all. Thank you Joan and Emily.

Location location location! You just can’t beat what this property has to offer. The cottage is beautifully decorated but still cozy enough for our family to relax in. It’s such a special place in a great area. We enjoyed the clean relaxing beach, the many playgrounds in the area, Black currant bakery and Rios in New Buffalo. We can’t wait to come back and relax!

I stayed here with two adults and a two year old. We loved it! The location is so close to the beach (just a short walk through the gate) you can’t see the beach from the house but it is as close as you can get. It was very clean and the amenities were as listed. Be sure to get donuts at Black Currant Bakehouse and breakfast /lunch sandwiches at the Whistle Stop Grocery, both are about 10 min walk from the vrbo. Would definitely stay here again.

We had a fantastic stay at Shorewinds cottage. This is the second time we visit the area in March, and love the quite and calm of the off-season. We went hiking at both Indiana Dunes (both state and national parks) and at Warren Dunes. Our little one (almost 2 yrs old) loved walking around the dunes and being carried in her hiking backpack.
The weather was cold when we went to Warren Dunes, but that meant we got the whole place almost to ourselves, and were able to snatch some amazing photographs without crowds.
Lots of delicious place to eat even in the off-season. We particularly enjoyed brunch at Beer Church and coffee and lunch at David's Deli.
The cottage was great - easy check in, clean, well stocked, ample lighting, and with a great host. Having a hyperactive toddler in tow, it was great to not to have to worry about crossing any streets on the way to the beach.
If you're looking for a relaxing, disconnecting stay, I'd highly recommend shorewins in the off-season.

The owner was amazing! We couldn’t get there for Christmas because of the weather. She graciously offered us the next weekend, new year’s weekend and we accepted. Her home is immaculate, beautifully furnished, and close to the Lake Michigan beach. Weather wasn’t great but a great getaway from home to read, watch football, and relax! Thank you so very much Joan!

This cottage is such a great place to stay . The second you step in you realize all the thought and love that has went into it ❤️ It smells amazing , so clean and adorable . The outside space is so lovely and just a short walk to the beach !! Joan was so helpful with questions she answered for us and ideas of places to eat and visit . We will be back !!

When we arrived, we were so impressed with the welcoming decor, the cleanliness, and the charm of this beach house. It had everything we needed - a great kitchen that has everything, even a kitchen aid mixer, which came in handy for making a birthday cake. My daughter's three little girls loved the bedroom where they could all sleep next to each other in three separate twin beds. The living room is cozy with comfortable furniture, chairs and a tv. I loved the beautiful garden, the outdoor shower and the short walk to the beach. In addition to being really close to the beach, this cottage is a short walk to a nice little grocery, and a wonderful bakery, that has the best coffee cake ever - Black Currant Bakehouse. The communication with the owner was excellent! All in all, it was a wonderful week and we can't wait to do it again next year.

Loved our second stay
This was our second stay and we loved it! The location is great for having little ones bc you can come up from the beach for potty runs and the outdoor shower makes life easy.

Everything you could possibly need is supplied including a kitchen aid. New living room comphy furniture. Mattresses I believe were new as well. Slept great. Art on walls were joyful and just beautiful. Loved watching the birds while drinking morning coffee on cushioned porch furniture. Loved the landscaping and especially the decorative black iron tree limbed bird feeder holder. What a joy. Loved walking down just a little from back garden gate to beach which seemed like our own private beach. Sipped wine while watching beautiful sunsets. Chairs are supplied, but we brought our own. Found an oversized water frisbee in their beach supplies by gate. Had a great time! We were kids again for a week. I really can’t say enough wonderful words for the owner who really made sure we felt like royal guests.

Great lakeside location!
We did not luck out with the weather, so were so thankful that the house and location were just as nice as advertised! Loved walking down to the beach (walkway to the lake truly right off of the yard!) for some digging and exploring time with our young kids and it was great to be able to walk (or take a very short drive) to multiple coffee shops, bakeries, restaurants. We’ve vacationed in the area quite a bit, but Blackcurrant Bakehouse was new to use this trip—so good (and close!). Recommend this property!

Cozy home away from home
We had an amazing long weekend at Shorewinds. The fireplace is easy to use, there's lots of light in the cottage, and all the amenities we want and need. Now that our son is a teenager, he can go down to the beach himself, or walk up to the Whistle Stop for a yummy sandwich. The Warren Dunes are nearby, so we went there every day for hiking and a little sledding.
Joan is a fantastic, low-maintenance host, and we HIGHLY recommend this cottage!

Wonderful retreat
My sister, my daughter and I had a great experience. The house is lovely--clean and charmingly decorated. Beach access is outstanding. The host, Joan, waa kind and generous and very helpful. She went above and beyond to ensure that we had a beautiful stay. We will gladly return any chance we get.
