Location was very good and easy to travel to other places in Kyoto, though required a bit of a walk. Not too busy in surrounding area. Very professional and helpful staff. Great to have a coffee machine in the lobby. Was shopping conveniently close. Excellent room with lots of amenities and comfortable bed.
Was quite a limited selection of TV channels.

The room is quite spacious for a Kyoto hotel. The beds are very comfortable and there are USB charging ports. The little kitchen is imperfect but convenient. The split bathroom with Japanese-style bath area was really nice.
The staff speak both Japanese and English.
There are multiple konbini nearby, as well as a supermarket, subway stop, bus stop, etc.
The wifi. Oh my goodness, the wifi. It is unusable. This has been reported multiple times by multiple guests for a long time, and yet nothing has been done. I was unable to complete an important video call because of this.
The kitchen is nice but extremely lacking. There is no table in the room, so you have to eat whatever you cooked on the bed or the floor. There are only two little saucers, no bowls or actual plates to eat from. There are no dish towels. Surely the hotel is not expecting you to eat directly from the pot you cooked in, while sitting on the clean white sheets, with no towel to clean up the inevitable spills? This is a recipe for disaster.
The fridge is actually a freezer, so the groceries I bought all ended up frozen. It seems crazy to provide a freezer but not a fridge.
The laundry facilities are fairly expensive and wildly inefficient. The washers are FULL of lint and the dryers leave your clothes damp. I was frustrated that I paid money to use a dryer that didn’t work, and I had to hang my wet clothes up over the bath in my room instead.
This hotel is too expensive for these problems to exist, especially when so many other past guests have mentioned them. I think you could get an AirBnB with much better facilities for roughly the same cost.
