Situated in Taos, this attractive house for $161 per night is a great option for your next break. Town of Taos, New Mexico - easy 1/4 block walk to Taos Plaza. A renovated historic & charming 1 bedroom "casita" - originally "Nun's" quarters for historic "Our Lady of Guadalupe Church" La Casita, nestled near most popular happening in “The Town of Taos” which is one quarter block from “Plaza”. Located on a quiet private one way street only ¼ block from the heart beat of town which is the “Taos Plaza”. Walk to town in less than 5 minutes. Lined with shops, restaurants, galleries and more, the Plaza is also where outdoor entertainment and public events take place. During summer months, locals and visitors look forward to gathering Thursday’s late day / early evening for live “Music on the Plaza” including dancing and festivities. During winter holidays, the Plaza is alive with holiday décor, music, gatherings and the ever popular “Lighting of Ledoux Street” with galleries, artist studios and the famous Harwood Museum announcing the beginning of Christmas / New Year holidays. which is populated. La Casita is one very short block from Ledoux Street. One block from Kit Carson Road & Main Street (named Paseo del Pueblo Sur) and Bent Street with more shops and galleries and eateries. All of this and more are available with a 5 or 10 minute walk. When you simply want to chill and pretend you live in Taos, stay home and relax by the historic wood burning kiva fireplace and enjoy this absolutely charming historic “La Casita”. Read a book or watch either of the two HD flat screen DirecTV’s (one in the living room and one in the bedroom). Like the rest of the casita, the kitchen is furnished with upscale everything, including stainless steel fridge and stove, upscale pots, pans and dinnerware. Much of the furniture was designed special for La Casita and handcrafted by a local Taos woodworker. The interior of the casita is pretty much “sound proof from the world” due to the thick historic adobe walls. These same sound proof walls insulate year round, keeping the casita cool during summer and warm during winter. The memory foam Queen bed is luxuriously comfortable and dressed with upscale linens, pillows and topper. The state of the art sleeper sofa is an “American Leather Comfort Sofa” touted by many guests over the last 10 years as, “The best night’s sleep ever” and “way better than most beds”. To experience Taos fully, one must spend time in the heart of the city. Lodging at “La Casita” provides guests the opportunity to enjoy all of this with ease and off street parking. You will feel like you live on “The Square” but are buffered with privacy and solitude when you walk through the front door. Wonderful, charming, authentic facility with forethought afforded given to every amenity that we might and did need. It afforded us a perfect location within walking distance to the heart of the Taos village. Since we have family in Taos, this will be our go to location whenever we return.

This casita was within walking distance of the plaza and many restaurants. Despite its proximity to everything, the casita was very quiet. The home was clean and cozy. There are multiple great hikes within 20-30 minutes of Taos.

This was our second visit to Taos, and it didn't disappoint. Our little casita was just right for my husband and me and our dog. It was quaint inside, and very, very comfortable, particularly the bed! We have always found Taos to be a restful place, serene and peaceful. We enjoyed walking around the town, as we were a block away from the Plaza.We found great coffee at Noula in the lobby of La Fonda Hotel. Great mochas!! We also enjoyed the artists' co-op with beautiful displays of local art. Good restaurants are also nearby or a short drive away. One night we had dinner in Arroyo Seco at Aceq, which offers a causal but unique dinning experience. Honestly, neither of us were ready to go home. Thank you for a 4 glorious days!

We arrived at La Casita in the dark, so made easy arrangements with the property manager earlier in the day. We walked to a nearby pizza/brewery for dinner, and to other shops and eateries close by throughout our stay - the location of LC is excellent. This little place is comfy, cozy; immediate hot water; working appliances (we used the fridge, stove, oven, and laundry room). We didn't use the fireplace, but it looks nice and has easy directions. We skied up at Ski Valley 2 days and the drive from LC was easy too. Overall a great stay!

We rendezvoused between Denver and Lubbock. When we arrived everyone in the party said "better than we expected" and when we left said "we would do that again - and we often don't say that!" Location could not have been better - we skied, shopped, ate out and loved the museums. We cooked in the kitchen and had all we needed. Host accommodated our special request. Use of the fireplace was much appreciated!

We highly enjoyed our stay at La Casita! It was an excellent location- next to a Mexican restaurant for happy hour, 2 blocks from the square, and within a10-15 minute walk from dozens of restaurants, bars, and shops. La Casita was clean and had all of the amenities for us to cook, be cozy, and have space to rest & relax. Dog friendly was an added plus :) the caretaker was very helpful and very resolution any questions, which we didn’t have many because we were given many instructions & info in the home. Would recommend to anyone & would consider staying here if we return!

I’ve always wanted to stay in an adobe house . This was worth the wait. It’s adorable. The interior is cozy and decorated modern southwestern . It’s just a block away from all of the wonderful shopping at the the Taos Plaza and surrounding streets. You can walk almost anywhere ,but do drive out to Taos Pueblo and take the very informative guided tour . I hope to return here one day .❤️

Outstanding, literally a block off the plaza, maybe two to Bent street. What a beautiful property whose pictures only tell a portion of the story. I was last in Taos from 71 to 74 in my late teens to early twenties. Found my first casita one block up from where we stay. If we return this is the only place we’ll stay if it is available. 5 Star’s 🌠

CONs: No AC or dishwasher.
Temp is often 80+ degrees. Fans and open windows help.
This is a unit in a small complex of similar small units very close together. Shared parking area is tiny and often occupied by outsiders who routinely occupy spaces or block access.
No outdoor space to enjoy air and nature. Small window feel confining. Noisy neighbor (who claimed HOA president!) talked loudly on speakerphone for 3 days.

Very nice visit.
One thing you need to take care of is the small drawer just to the left of stove. It is not connected on the back and I almost dropped the entire drawer the first time I pulled it out. Also, the bed quilt needs to be replaced. That one on the bed is old and looks dirty. I don’t think it was but looked it. These two small problems did not affect our stay. Was a great apartment.
