Nestled in Sonoma County, this attractive cottage for $425 per night is a great choice for your next trip. Fox Kit Cottage offers an exciting ocean experience in sumptuous comfort. As you scroll through the pictures you will see there is nothing in Bodega Bay like it. Well-appointed, it has two bedrooms, one with a queen-sized bed, the other with two twin beds, and one bathroom. It is perfect for a romantic getaway or a vacation for a small family. With its remodel in 2011and further enhancements in 2018, the cottage continues as an upscale retreat for its owners and guests. Sitting above Wright’s Beach, views dominate from nearly every room, and intense ocean scenes are customary. From the beautifully designed deck and spa, you will relax, unwind, and feel what the power of the sea can do for your soul. The ocean is not the only attraction. There is wildlife everywhere. Birds, whales, and fox (the cottage’s namesake) are just a sampling. From two short paths – Monterey Pine Path, and Bluff Path, you will enjoy the coastal landscape and incredible views. The spacious lot hosts a majestic, intricately intertwined, 40-year old Monterey Pine tree, with a path under its canopy and a stone bench to sit and admire natural arbor artistry. The Bluff Path takes you down to a bench amongst the freshwater springs, flowering foliage, with the vast ocean below. Furnishings reflect a commitment to clean contemporary design, local art, and attention to detail. Amenities include quality bedding, thick bath towels and robes, and natural toiletries, setting this home apart from others. We loved this property! The pictures can’t do the view justice! There’s nothing like watching the surf and sunset from a spa, a balcony or comfortable sofa! We so enjoyed the layout of the cottage and all the amenities.
We have to mention Meg, the neighbor who welcomed us so sweetly with a homemade treat! She was so friendly and helpful and added to the enjoyment of our stay! We will definitely be coming back!

What an absolutely sublime coastal property the Fox Kit Cottage is! Immediately we wished we’d booked at least 3 nights because two full days at minimum is a must.
The cottage felt more like a small home in that it was spacious and well appointed. The kitchen was fully equipped, and we didn’t need to purpose half the items we brought along (such as pots, measuring cups, etc.). A delight to prepare meals in, truly!
On top of the thoughtful kitchen was the comfortable bedding. My mom had the master bedroom as she’s recovering from knee replacement surgery. She loved her bedroom and cozy queen bed. I was in the second bedroom on the bottom bunk. What a restful little room with its high-quality foam mattress and window ocean views to wake up and gaze upon. I was impressed.
The living furnishings were all comfortable too and the home was pristinely clean. I have rented many homes globally and this by far supplied the most “livable” and versatile furniture (plus plenty of toiletries and other conveniences like paper towels and tissues). Fabulous and considerably sized bare wood dining table too. Loved it!
And of course, the cheery on top was the impeccable, unobstructed view of the Pacific Ocean, in all its magnificence. Taking it in from the amply sized hot tub was an enormous bonus too. We spent a lot of time soaking, and it did wonders for my mom’s healing knee.
What's more, check-in and check-out was a piece of cake!

This cute little house was so amazung to stay at. We were only there 2 nights and wished we could have been there longer. The view from the hot tub was so incredibly beautiful at sunset and so relaxing. We will deffinetly be going back at some point.

Ocean air, clean well appointed place, comfortable beds, incredible views, beach walks, sweet neighbors and a magical Monterey pine made this a perfect place for a restorative stay. Nature put on a five star performance as well; we enjoyed sunrises, sunsets, beautiful days and cozy nights.
We also loved exploring Bodega Bay and enjoying the fresh seafood.

My husband and I stay in multiple oceanfront properties every year all up and down the CA coastline. Fox Kit is one of the most stunning views we have had from our deck. The rugged rocks below make for some pretty spectacular crashing waves and, overall, the property is very private and peaceful. As other reviews have stated the ceiling in the bathroom is low but, even though we are both tall, it really wasn't a big deal and in no way detracts from what a great place this cottage is...inside and out!

We enjoyed our stay. The cottage was clean and charming, with many thoughtful touches, and the view is spectacular. Unfortunately, we weren't clear that the bathroom is pretty far from the master bedroom, and is a bit cramped. Also, the master bedroom is pretty dark.

This charming little beach cottage was the perfect place for my husband and I to relax and unwind for our post-wedding mini-moon. The property was very clean, kitchen had everything we needed to prepare our meals, and the views from the patio and hot tub were absolutely stunning. We will definitely be back for our next stay-cation!

What a beautiful home with all the amenities you would need for your stay. The house was newly remodeled, which made it very comfortable for my family with two kids ranging in age from 3 - 12. The deck with a hot tub overlooking Wright Beach was a great way to enjoy the sunset.
I highly recommend this place if you want to get away from the bustle of Bodega Bay during a holiday weekend. You won't be disappointed.

We had a great stay at Fox Kit Cottage! The view(s) is incredible even when it's cloudy. We got to see 2 amazing sunsets from the hot tub while we were there.
The cottage was spacious enough for our family of 4. Overall location is excellent. We went into Bodega Bay multiple times and up to Armstrong Woods another day. Plenty to do nearby or if you just want to relax and look at the view this is the place to be!

This place was such a gem. Location could not have been better. 10 minutes into town, just far enough out for a very peaceful stay. Neighbors were so nice. Deck with hot tub overlooking the ocean. Succulent gardens, bending trees, evening whale watching from the deck. Very close to Wrights beach if you want to put your toes in the stand or just fix a cocktail and observe and people watch from the deck or hot tub. Would recommend highly for a quick getaway, anniversary, birthday or just a girls weekend away!

The view and location were AMAZING! I have never stayed anywhere with a more scenic and gorgeous view of the beach. The hot tub was fantastic as well. The beds and couches were all very comfortable, and the kitchen was well equipped. Would highly recommend!

This was our second time booking this home, and we loved it the first time but unfortunately, as soon as we entered, there was a beeping noise the entire time. I met the neighbor next-door, and the neighbor was going to reach out to the homeowner and we also reached out to property management. The property manager was supposed to send someone out but unfortunately the beeping continued our entire stay for three days.
If it wasn’t for the beeping, this place would have been perfect! Sitting in the spa and looking up at the stars at night time was absolutely grand. The location of the place with those amazing sun sets on the ocean, morning coffee on the porch hearing the waves crash was spectacular!
If property management could fix that beeping, and or send someone out in a timely manner to fix some thing, this place is highly recommend

Perfect cottage with wonderful ocean view to rent by couple, friends, or small family. Completely equipped. The only possible drawback is the shower--fan not near powerful enough to dry it out (walls dripped water and puddles on the floor when we arrived and the whole time of our stay). We used Clorox wipes each time we wanted to use it.

The location and view are just beautiful. The property is very nice. Only 2 issues. The TV was to have had you tube TV for regular TV viewing and it didn't work. The other issue was the lock box for the key. It was very easy to get the key out but very difficult to close it when returning the key.

I stayed here with my parents and we absolutely loved the location of the house and the outdoor space. The view is unmatched. The outside landscaping is like nothing we’ve ever seen before. When we arrived, the power was out due to high winds. I know this is uncontrollable, but for those who plan to work from the house, it is good to know in advance that this specific location can lose power occasionally. The WiFi was also out for 2 out of our 3 days. The hot tub was 60 degrees and dirty when we arrived, either due to loss of power or the previous guests didn’t put the cover on correctly and it blew off. I messaged the host starting at 4pm, but didn’t hear back until 9am the following day. This seems to be somewhat abnormal since previous reviews say the host is very responsive. Once I heard from her at 9am, she was very responsive and sent someone immediately to fix and clean the hot tub. She also reached out to the internet company to inquire about the WiFi being down. Overall this is a wonderful and beautiful house right on the bluffs. A very magical location. I do think just a few things would benefit from a little TLC. The water dispenser was broken on the fridge, the vent on the microwave was broken and taped on so when I opened the door it fell on me knocking my coffee out of my hands and spilling it, and the pillow shams on the twin bed had some pretty big stains which appear to be from makeup. These are small issues in my opinion, but if they were addressed and fixed it would make the experience that much better. Overall it was a great opportunity to stay on the beach, but a few hiccups turned what could have been a magical experience into just a comfortable and pleasant stay.

I was immediately struck with how beautiful the entire property is. There is a tree that sits next to the house that is worth going for alone. Giant Hot Tub with world class views. Friendly and safe small neighborhood. As a writer and photographer it is a dream!

In communication initiated by the property manager on Saturday morning prior to arriving to advise us the water heater was not functioning.
We choose to proceed with our stay, at a discounted price. We did not use the hot tub because rinsing off was not an option with only cold water shower.
