About this house rental
Not just a vacation rental, but a beautifully designed home. You’ll love my place because it is 50 feet from the sea with great snorkelling and shelling. My place is good for couples, friends travelling in a group and families (with kids). We custom built this home in 2015. It's a great spot to stay put or as a base to explore the island. Most guests say they are happy just staying right in the house or on our beach.
We have amazing biodiversity right in front of the house and it is common to see spotted eagle rays, dolphin, turtles, juvenille sharks, nurse sharks, mutton snapper, grouper, dolphins, stone crab and more.
Close to Rock Sound airport (15 mins) and Governors Harbour (30 mins). 5 minutes from the quaint town of Tarpum Bay. There is a great local bar/restaurant a few minutes away as well as grocery stores and conch salad stands.

Baha Mara was exactly what we thought it would be. Check-in was extremely easy. The house was very well insulated, and we kept the AC on at 80 degrees when we used it. The beach was perfect for our grandson to swim around. He even found a couple of baby octopus. We hope to rent this house again next year. We loved it!

The house and kitchen were immaculately clean and well equipped and Joanna was very responsive and helpful whenever we had questions. I love this area of Eleuthera for the views, shelling, snorkeling and observing wildlife. From the kayak I saw nurse sharks, sea turtles and many species of birds. The location in the middle of the island is also convenient for enjoying multiple areas. I can’t wait to return to this slice of heaven!

My family and I travel internationally quite often, and we've stayed at a wide range of vacation rentals across the Bahamas and beyond. I can honestly say this property is one of our favorites.First and foremost, the location is ideal. Baha Mar is clean, safe, and tucked away on the quieter, more serene south end of the island. It’s perfect for anyone looking to escape the crowds and experience the natural beauty of Eleuthera in peace. While you won’t find big waves on this side of the island, you're just a short, scenic drive from Surfer’s Beach—one of the top-rated spots for catching waves and enjoying a more adventurous day by the ocean.What you do get right at the property is unbeatable access to calm, crystal-clear waters perfect for snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking, or simply floating and relaxing. The beach area is private with only one next door and a few more down the beach. It makes it feel like your own slice of paradise. The kids and I enjoyed exploring the shorelin, turtles, so many fish, and even sharks just off shore. Bring water shoes as it is rocky in places.The house itself is beautifully maintained, well-equipped, and thoughtfully designed for comfort. It’s spacious enough for families, with great communal areas to gather and enjoy meals, game nights, or just sit and take in the view. The kitchen had everything we needed, and we cooked and grilled out each night.If you're looking for a relaxing island getaway away from the crowds, this is it.
