Royal Escape is a great base for exploring the central and northern end of St Lucia. It’s quiet but not too far from some good beaches and Marigot Bay. Pat is a very caring and helpful host with lots of good advice as to places to visit. Definitely recommend hiring a car if you’re staying at Royal Escape. Recommend Anse Cochon for beach and snorkelling, Rum distillery tour and Millet bird sanctuary walk.

The host is great (as all the other reviews have outlined) and is the best thing about this place. The location is around 30mins from the airport in Castries and a bit more than an hour from the international airport to the south. You really need a car to make this place work for you, or you are going to be walking a lot up and down hills!
The parking is outside the facility, but right opposite (not within the secure area).
Everyone raves about this place but the reality is that it is quite an old place that hasn't really been updated for many years. The communal area inside (kitchen/living room) is huge but has no AC (there are only ac's in the bedrooms) and so is not very practical to use as it's very hot (1 moveable fan is supplied which helps a little!). The furniture and kitchen is all dark wood and dated. The kitchen has enough equipment to make your own meals if you wish (and basics are supplied).
There is no view from the ground floor rooms or facilities. The swimming pool is quite small.

Ms. Pat met us at the house, gave us the grand tour of the facalities, which is nice and big and very clean. We swere there for four days each morning was a big lovely and bery filling breakfast.. We had two children and she made sure those kids were satisfied. Ms Pat would have arranged a driver to pick us up from the airport and Randy(our driver) became our destinated driver for the four days. WoW!! he never seemed hurried, he was very patient seeing we had the kids .... he really gave us the ideal tour of St. Lucia. Back at the house Ms. Pat was a real sweetheart, always ready to hear how our day was and give us suggetions for our next outting and interact with the kids. She even took time she took us to the store. The area is really quiet, so if you are there for rest you definiately will rest whether in your nice AC room or by the pool.
