This is a big, stunningly beautiful historic home IDEALLY situated on Chartres Street near Esplanade Avenue and Frenchmen Street in the historic Marigny Triangle. Live large for less!!!!! This historic home as it all -- People watch from the splendid balcony; Brass bands set up and play down the block --- bars, restaurants, clubs, music.. it's all right here! It's a palatial 2500 square-foot 2 bath home with a 60-foot center hall (8 feet wide!) large veranda overlooking Frenchmen, Chartres and Kerlerec streets. Your entire living area is on the 2nd floor accessible by a flight of stairs (13 steps). There's a large kitchen with stainless steel appliances, large dining room, large living room, 60' TV w/ cable, WIFI, washer and dryer, central air and heat, ceiling fans all over the place, sparkling hardwood floors, great view of Frenchmen and Chartres streets from the huge veranda ... and linens (sheets and towels) are provided. Two bathrooms, two clawfoot tubs with showers... One of the bathrooms is as big as most bedrooms! This house is even bigger than it looks in photos and video. If you look really carefully, you'll see this house in the classic movie 'Easy Rider,' and you can catch it every now and then on 'Treme.' Guests have included a former Louisiana governor, a New Orleans police chief and a distinguished documentary crew from New York filming for a major network. GREAT location!!!
Spacious, clean, well kept. Was bigger than expected! There was plenty of room for our large group, and plenty of common space.
Awesome historic building with plenty of charm.

My college roommates and I headed to New Orleans for jazz fest. We needed a large place (5 bedrooms) with a kitchen and living space. This place was terrific. The owners are friendly and extremely responsive. The home is clean and well-stocked. Best of all, it's just around the corner from Frenchman Street which is an unbelievable area for great jazz. Thanks to Jonathan and Qing for a wonderful weekend.

Jonathan and his wife were great hosts and met us at the home when we arrived. The home is in close proximity to so many locations. We were able to to places like House of Blues, Cafe Du Monde, Jazz Museum, restaurants, bars with live music, etc. We could hear music from the home at night so be prepared for that if you are a light sleeper. Overall, I highly recommend.

Great location and plenty of space for our family with adult children. Close to the action of Frenchmen's Street with some associated noise but not as loud as I feared it might be. Loved sitting on the front verandah watching the world walk by.

Phenomenal Family Wedding Weekend
We had a family wedding on Bourbon St. Two families ages 26 to 62 from New York and London shared this rental. It was clean and comfortable -- everything you need! It is a bit of a walk to the main french quarters (15 - 20 minutes) which is fine for walkers (like us). Only downfall (which is not owner's issue) is how loud it is at night from the live music only one block away and people walking in the streets being loud. However, it stops at a reasonable hour and does not contiue into the night. All in all we would rent again!!

Excellent in every way!
The house is very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Great location, easy to walk to New Orleans' sites, food and music. Jonathan is an excellent communicator and very engaged as a host. I would recommend this to anyone visiting NOLA and would definitely stay here again.

Great location and a great house!!
The Property was very clean. We had 6 people staying at the house and everyone enjoyed their stay.We used the balcony every night to enjoy the warm weather and listen to the music from Frenchman St. It also is a great place to people watch.
The house was just one block from Frenchman St. and a 5 min. walk to the French Quarters. We found a great breakfast place on Frenchman St. called Cafe Rose Nicaud.
Jonathon was a great host. We had one issue and he was quick to respond and take care of the problem. Would recommend to anyone to stay here. You will be glad you did!

Friends’ Reunion
Jonathon’s house in New Orleans was the perfect meeting spot for childhood friends. The four of us women found the house to be the perfect location for our get together. It is just a block from Frenchmen Street and a two-minute walk to the French Quarter. We all enjoyed sitting on the beautiful porch talking and watching the world go by. If the opportunity arises to return to New Orleans, this would be my first choice.

Great weekend in NOLA
Stayed March 7-10. What a wonderful home and location! New Orleans has many older homes with amazing character, and this did not disappoint! We loved the beautiful wood floors, the pocket doors, transoms, stained glass, and those amazing glass paned doors in the middle of the huge hallway. Very cool eclectic furnishings and so homey. Well stocked kitchen, fun claw foot tubs in bathrooms, plenty of space to spread out. The porch was AMAZING! We drank coffee on the AM, and wound down the nights sitting there people watching. Location could not be better - 1 short block to Frenchman's St. for some of the best jazz in the city, and a great, easy 15-20 minute walk to Bourbon St., Jackson Sq, etc. Was a little noisy at night from Frenchman's St., but we had no trouble sleeping. If noise bothers you I suggest bringing a white noise machine (or using app on phone). Ubers just a 2 minute wait every time we called one (used to go downtown at night for dinner, or up to Canal to take the trolley). Jonathan was a great host. I definitely recommend this wonderful unique getaway!

Perfect location! Charming and Comfortable Accomodation.
This was the prefect fit for our family! We traveled here for a wedding at St Louis Cathedral in Jackson Square, but wanted to enjoy more of NOLA while we were here as well. Jonathan’s rental was perfect! It was a short 10-15 min walk to Jackson Square (the center of the city) and only steps to Bourbon Street and other Historic sites in the French Quarter. The best part is that the house is right in the center of the vibrant music scene on Frenchmen. Our favorite thing to do after a long day of walking around the city, was to sit on the huge balcony with a beer and listen to the pop-up live music concert at the corner of Chartres and Frenchmen. So many amazing food options and live music right here, we never had to venture far if we didn’t feel like it. The house has tons of space and all the comforts of home so my family was able to spread out and relax. As other reviewers mentioned, the street noise continues into the early morning, but this just added to the charm of the place. We couldn’t think of a better place to stay. To top it all off Jonathan is a super responsive and gracious host. He met us upon arrival to make sure we got in ok and see if we had any questions. We had a very authentic New Orleans experience! We will definitely be coming back.

Great location, lots to do and see
House has lots of character and is close to all of the main tourist sights in Nola. We walked everywhere during the day and it’s a cheap Uber/Lyft/cab ride back home if it’s too late to walk. Just a block or so from Frenchman Street, so don’t plan on the party stopping before 3am... but that was fine by us. :-) We even joined an impromptu street dance party one night, just walked out and down to the corner where the band was playing. Exactly what we expected and were looking for from a Nola Girls’ Trip weekend.

We absolutely loved everything about this place. It was spacious and so comfortable, beautifully decorated and such a perfect location for what we were looking for. We were so thankful to Jonathan for his flexibility when we needed it and hope to return.

Perfect house, perfect location, perfect hosts
Start to finish- great VRBO experience. Jonathan was great to meet us for a very late check in and everything was set. Great beds, good pillows, plenty of hot water for a group. There are steps up to entry and the unit is all on second floor.
Balcony is a sweet spot for street music and the short walk to the music scene can not be beat. It is less than a 15 minute walk to get in to the Bourbon Street scene, but the Marigny area has so much to offer. When you do call a car, most Lyft and Uber rides were under $10.
We were able to store our bags while we enjoyed our last day, and Jonathan met us to retrieve them on our way to the airport.

Fantastic house in a perfect location!
We spent 4 nights in this wonderful home just a 2 minute walk from Frenchman Street. During our time we walked all over the French Quarter and took Uber to farther neighborhoods (never waited more than 3 minutes for an Uber!), but honestly our favorite haunts were right there on Frenchman street!
Jonathan met us on day one, shared a brief tour, and politely left us to get settled but he was only a text away if we had any questions or needed anything. The house is huge! Beds range from softer to firmer mattresses so everyone can pick their favorite. Rooms closer to the balcony hear more of the music at night, but honestly it wasn’t a problem. (I know, that was my room and I was asleep by 10 every night!)
Great location, spotless spacious home, attentive landlord...what’s not to love??
My only regret is we didn’t bring the rest of the family so we are (hopefully) coming back next year!

Loved this property!!
We completely enjoyed our stay at Jonathans property. The home is quite large, plenty of space and privacy for our group of five adults. It is literally in the heart of the music scene. No need to drive anywhere. We walked to great restaurants and bars with fabulous jazz music playing every night, literaly steps from the property. Even walked dowtown one day to visit Harrahs and have dinner. The balcony was our favorite spot to sit and have coffee or evening cocktails. Great spot in the evening to listen to the street bands playing a block away on the corner. Even the full time residents who live in homes surrounding were friendly and welcoming. Just a great time overall. Absolutely nothing we would change about the accommodations. The home and area exceeded our expectations!!
