About this cottage rental
Nestled in Carolina Beach, this charming cottage for $295 per night is a great choice for your next break. Georgia On My Mind is a four bedroom home close to the beach and the sound. It is well equipped with everything you will need for an enjoyable beach vacation. Our kitchen is fully stocked with all kinds of gear including a coffeemaker, Kuerig, a toaster, and plenty of pots and pans. Each bedroom has its own closet or dresser so you can unpack and feel right at home. Outside we have a nice secluded patio set, hammock hooks, and gas and charcoal grill to cook out. There is even a play shed in the backyard with a chalkboard wall, toys, games and couches for the kids! For outdoor activities, the house is equipped with a new golf cart ( $200 rental added to your booking fee), 4 bikes, 4 paddle boards, and two kayaks. It is a short walk to the ocean and just one block to the sound and marina where you can put our kayaks and paddle boards right into the water and enjoy a day of exploring the sound side. There are numerous shopping and dining options close by or within a short driving distance by car or golf cart! Our beach house is in a perfect area to enjoy all aspects of Carolina Beach. The ocean, the beach, the sound, the shopping, and the dining are all within reach when you stay at Georgia On My Mind!

This truly a beautiful, thoughtfully appointed, family and four-legged friend, friendly cottage. The ocean and sound are easily accessed on foot, by bike, golf cart or a short drive (a few blocks). I only wish we had more time to relax and enjoy the cottage amenities (firepit, eating outside, hanging out on the screened in porch) and explore the local area, though we did make it to the NC Aquarium, Fort Fisher AWD beach access, and took the ferry to Southport for a day. Hoping to come back soon for a longer stay. Thank you so much, Bob and Mimi!

We had a great week staying in this home away from home! The house was cozy and well-maintained, with comfortable furnishings that made it feel like a home away from home. We had a great week here. We loved the fenced in property for our granddaughter and grandpup, and the house had everything we needed (we like cooking at home often when on vacation). We were not able to access the playroom but we only had 1 child in our group so it wasn't a negative issue for us. Housekeeping was still on premises at 4pm (check-in) but the owner answered the inquiring call on the 1st ring. For the price...this house & amenities are hard to beat!

Overall the house and property were extremely nice with high quality amenities from the bedding/furniture to the kitchen utensils. The house is well maintained and clean. The childrens playhouse was well used by the children. Just a short walk to the beach, it is in a great location with some peace and quiet.

- the golf cart is a great feature. Super quick to get to the beach without the hassle of walking in the heat lugging all your gear! The house is a bit of a walk to the beach, so def get the golf cart
- the kitchen is well stocked with pots, pans, toasters, cups, cooking utensils, etc. We cooked a ton.
- the property has great outdoor space with a picnic table and seating, and a fire pit. There is a ton of shade, too, which is nice. It can use some TLC to cut back the overgrowth and clean up the fallen leaves, berries, etc. Also, there are a TON of mosquitos. My son and I are mosquito magnets so within 5 minutes we were eaten alive.
- we really enjoyed the paddle boards. You can take them down to the marina and drop in (hang a right out of the house and follow the curve to the left)
- the outdoor shower was great to clean up before heading in. It even has hot water, which is a bonus.
- we only used two bedrooms, and the beds in the first and larger rooms were comfortable. The bedroom downstairs is detached, I probably wouldn't have used it. It's nice but smells like an old basement

Family gathering for UNCW graduation celebration. The house has enough cozy spaces to be together but not all in one living room. The front porches are beautiful place to read, have a cup of coffee. Kitchen is really well equipt. We cooked meals for 10. Great dining table for meals and game night.

Rent the golf cart. Our family enjoyed evening rides around the neighborhood. Easy walk to beach and waterway.
I’d rent this house again. Decorations are very well thought out throughout the whole house.

The only thing I’d say is that I wasn’t expecting the 4th bedroom to be completely separate from the rest of the house and to smell horribly of mold. Everything else was great - and we made due with the three beds. Would stay here again - but I wouldn’t count on using that fourth bedroom.

The upstairs interior was well appointed with the major issues being a very small master shower and toilet that needs to be repaired or replaced. The master bed was extremely uncomfortable with no support as there was no box springs on an old coil mattress.
For the exterior, the golf cart had a bald tire, failing brakes, a tail light out and wouldn't hold a charge. The downstairs furniture was filthy and unusable unless you want to clean it. The string lights on the upper deck didn't work. The backyard is very overgrown and unusable. The firepit had no wood and no seating.
The downstairs bedroom isn't really suitable for adults and subpar compared to the upstairs living space.
Overall, the interior was one of the most well appointed rentals we have ever stayed in but more attention needs to be paid to the advertised amenities.
