Our family needed a house that could sleep everyone, provide some space and privacy, was close to the beach and offered fun amenities like a pool, spa and pool table. Livin’ the Dream delivered!
With a large family group of 8 adults, 2 teens and an elementary schooler, finding a good fit can be a challenge at times.
We loved how the rooms at Livin’ the Dream were spaced out so each couple could have privacy and parents could watch over kiddos easily. The kitchen was great and tables ample enough to feed our family. Seating in the main room for movies was doable, but a little tight due to the size of the room. The seating provided was moveable and comfortable though.
The decks were great—though watch out for splinters on the top deck due to weathering. Lower decks aren’t as weathered so they have fewer splinter hazards.
The spa was nice and maintained well. The porch swing was really comfortable and we had wonderful breezes that were refreshing.
The pool was lovely and the back yard was very private and secluded-feeling. The front yard has the best grass and landscaping of the block! Beautiful grass and pretty flowers.
The walk to the beach was short and pleasant. Easy to walk and comes out next to a lifeguard—nice!
Bedrooms were nice, though pillows were flat. Bring your own if you want fluffy one!
There were a lot of pool toys and a nice beach cart at the house, which was great! We contributed some noodles for the next crew to enjoy. :)

We chose this house to gather together and celebrate my sons marriage with a vow ceremony and catered dinner. It worked out perfectly and the house was so comfortable. We were not blessed with great weather but enjoyed our time so much.

Previous guests
Sadly, the guests staying the week before us were not who was expected according to housekeeper. This made the cleaning process difficult . For example, dishes were put away that had not been washed. Other than not being as clean as we expected, we would rent this property again. The house, pool and grounds are lovely. We especially enjoyed the trees and foliage. The beach is also a short walk away and shopping is very convenient.

Great House - Read your contract
The house was great- pool and hot tub clean, rest of the house clean. The kitchen was mostly well stocked and water pressure was good in the bathrooms. It was nice to have linens provided. There was also a great beach cart which was a surprise. It's close to the beach access but still felt like more of a hike than we'd anticipated but we'd stay here again. The decks were nice- there was a swing close to the hot tub and two Adirondack chairs on the top deck. It could use more seating on the decks and the Adirondack chairs are very dark so they got hot easily. Not a huge deal. The house was nicely spread out- we had three families (6 adults 6 kids) and it was great to have all the room. The deck and stairs could use some love- we had to hammer down two nails and one of the kids got a splinter (surprised we didn't have more.)
This is managed by an outside property company. They were quick to respond to the fridge downstairs not reaching temperature and one other issue. The cleaning fee changed between booking on VRBO (June) and signing the contract (October). Two days before checkout we were told we had to be out at 9am instead of 10am. I was informed this was a change due to extra cleaning but went back and forth with them about what is in the contract. None of this had to do with the home. The home was beautiful and we'd stay here again. I'd read the contract closer next time.

Perfect 🥰
Great location only a few minutes walk to the beach. It is inside a quiet and friendly neighborhood. The house was pristine and exactly as pictured. There was plenty of room for everyone so we didn't feel crowded. Pool was clean and there were pool floating chairs (donuts) in the closet. We are thinking about renting this property again next summer.

We loved this house, it was just 2 blocks to the beach and had everything we could ask for, from a pool and hot tub to boogie boards, sand toys and a beach wagon! The only problem we had was with the living room TV, the sound would decrease and increase on its own. Other than that it was perfect, we are hoping to rent it again next year.

Beach, pool and food fun!!!

The TV's sound is awesome for movies but just to have a tv show on in the background, we just wanted basic stereo sound and it was hard to tweak the system to sound like a normal television.
Overall an excellent house, lots of fun and a fantastic week. Thank you!!!

Perfect spot with loads of room to accommodate our family. We spent all our time in the pool and our little girls were "mermaids" all week. Also, perfect spot to celebrate our daughter and son in law's birthdays.

We loved this house, so many great memories were made here! The house is situated in a perfect location, it is on a private lot yet so close to the beach.
We are all cooks, so we loved that the kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to make our elaborate meals. The pool is huge as is the pool patio , there was so much room for our entire party to play altogether. We enjoyed the spacious multiple decks and of course the hot tub! Kids and adults loved playing volleyball in the afternoons as well as basketball.
Our only observation is that the patio furniture was a bit scarce , there weren't enough chairs to accommodate all of us. We carried our own beach chairs up and down the steps when we wanted to sit together. We also love to eat outside, and felt like an outdoor dining table would be ideal on the top deck.

Summer 2019 in Corolla
My group (9 adults, 6 children) had a great time at this property in July 2019! The house was very similar to the pictures provided online (updated/clean), so we got what we were expecting. The six bedrooms and bathrooms were great. The furniture in the house was very nice. The pool and volleyball court were both nice features (the pool table and hot tub also got some use). The upstairs area was very clean and open, with lots of seating for meals and relaxing (and the sweepable floor was beneficial). The walk to the beach wasn't bad, because even though you are three blocks back, it is very close to the access trail (only takes 5 min walk to be on the beach, and the beach wagon at the house made transporting gear very easy). Additionally, there were some beach/pool toys including skim boards, pool noodles, basketball/volleyball, etc. available at the property (while not necessary, it would be an added benefit if a few more beach chairs, functional boogie boards, and bikes were available). While there were plenty of seats down at the pool area, there was not much deck furniture (beyond the swing), which would have been nice for outdoor meals. Overall, we were very impressed with the house and the whole rental process, feel like the house met our expectations from the online listing and was well worth the money, and would consider renting this house again in the future (as well as recommend it to others). Thanks for a great vacation!

The house was great once we got issues addressed after our arrival. The house was not clean. Crumbs on the floor and stairs. Bathrooms were very dirty and did not appear to be cleaned at all! The shower in the master bath was broken and would only put out cold water. The rental company sent someone out the 2nd day there to clean. It was disappointing that the plumber to fix the shower didn’t arrive until our third day there.

This year we rented 2 houses with Shoreline and I must say, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful throughout our entire experience, beginning with the numerous questions I had prior to signing the rental agreement to our arrival at the properties and handling the few small issues we had. The houses were well maintained and fit all of our needs. We're already starting to plan next year's stay and will definitely rent from them again!

Had a wonderful week with family at this home and having been to OBX many years in the past this was one of the best homes that we have stayed at. The real estate agency was great we had to call them because the refrigerator wasn't closing properly, they came within 10 mins and it was just an adjustment with a shelf. House was perfect for our needs and clean and beautiful. Took great pictures on the beautiful landscaped lawn! Just wish it was one Street closer to water because a little bit of a walk for our parents and children.

Our entire stay was excellent. The house was spotless when we arrived and we had everything we needed and more (board games, dvds, pool/beach equipment, etc.). The pool was clean and our kids had a blast in it everyday. The beach was a short walk although hauling our gear over the dune was tougher than expected. Shoreline OBX was very easy to work with; checked in late but were easily able to get our entrance code without delay or speaking to anyone. Our rental gear was waiting for us. Overall it was an enjoyable and stress free week, due in no small part to a great house and easy logistics.

With two families including 5 kids under 6, the house was a great match for us. The rooms were set up perfectly. The amount of kitchen items (bowls, pans, cups, appliances) definitely suited us well. It was also great to have so many beach/pool items already there. Though it was a hefty walk to the beach, the beach buggy helped to some extent. A little updating on the kid/adult games would be nice. Also a baby gate for keeping the little ones to one level would have been great! The one really downside was the amount of ants in the pool area. We have no idea where they were coming from, but they were everywhere. Overall the house was great for our families and we thoroughly enjoyed our week!

We've been coming to the East Coast for about 28 years now (sometimes the OBX and sometimes in SC. We always seem to have a great time. This was one of the nicest houses that we've stayed in - it was well laid out and the Great Room was one of the best. The pool and hot tub were wonderful! The Rental agency was terrific and always very helpful. The only thing that we weren't used to was the longer walk to the beach. It was the only thing we didn't realize when booking the house - other than that - it's a great house!

One of the best things about this house is how well it is maintained. By far the nicest looking house on the block. I am not sure if they switched cleaning companies but it was super clean this year. We have stayed in other homes in OBX and this is not always the case. I am so appreciative to the owners for sharing their home with us and look forward to future vacations there.

The property location was one of the highlights of our trip. It is not stacked next to another property like some of the other properties on the same road. The property was surrounded by trees which made the house feel very private especially while in the pool. We could hear other vacationers but could not see them. The house was also conveniently located in between the shops / grocery markets and the light house / park.

This was our 4th year staying at Sammer's Paradise and we have nothing but great things to say about the house. The owners do a phenomenal job keeping the house nice and we are so appreciative that they are willing to share it with us. We also greatly appreciated the welcome gift. My only recommendation would be to look into a new pool maintenance company. When we arrived the hot tub was over-flowing because they left a hose in it and they didn't vacuum the pool the entire time we were there. When they did show up they left hoses all over the middle deck. Not a big deal but If it were my house I would want to know. Also, the cleaning company didn't do that great of a job either but nothing that a few Clorox wipes and the vacuum couldn't fix. We can't wait for next year!!!
