The SPACE Behind a classic white picket fence, a lush front courtyard with blooming roses, fragrant lavender, and a shaded bistro table is a welcoming approach to this exceptional property. The entry sunroom has something for everyone: a four-top table, plenty of games, and a twin-trundle day bed. With volume ceilings adding grand scale to the bright, big, and cheerful interiors, large windows, hardwood floors, classic trim molding, and Victorian details further define the character of this traditional 1,700 square-foot home.  The living room with a corner sectional-sofa sleeper offers plenty of seating around a large, flat-screen smart television with cable tv and Netflix. Modern technology is efficient here, with reliable cell reception and fast WiFi. The Bluetooth sound system and "DIY photo booth props" add another (and potentially hilarious!) layer of fun memory-making. The gourmet kitchen is a favorite with those who love to cook, offering granite countertops, a farm sink, a stainless steel refrigerator, a 5-burner gas range, loads of dishes, cookware, utensils, colorful plastic dishware for the kiddos, and "spa-safe" plastic wine glasses for the grown-ups. It's all there! Kanaloa's Seafood Market is just around the corner, too, so be sure to check out the fresh catch of the day for tonight's home-cooked meal. The dining room seats up to 10 people at a long, wooden table with custom lighting overhead creating great ambiance. In addition, the antique sideboard creates a convenient zone for delicious meals waiting to be served. Not cooking tonight? There are great restaurants with locally sourced ingredients, outside dining on the State Street Promenade, a theatre, and great shopping in Paseo Nuevo Mall in the next block.  Two guest rooms with queen-size beds share a Jack-n-Jill style bathroom with dual sinks and large, walk-in tile shower. The third bedroom features another comfy queen-size bed, generous size closet and a door to the back yard making it perfect for anyone seeking a little more autonomy with a private entrance.  The second bathroom adjacent to the kitchen offers an authentic claw-foot tub with a drenching shower head.  The professionally landscaped backyard boasts a large patio and peaceful space surrounded by a tall, private fence and a massive century-old avocado tree. Please pick the avocados when in season! Whether enjoying gathering together around the extended dining table that seats twelve or just soaking in the hot tub after hours, the backyard space is private, shaded, and offers plenty of off-street parking. The hot tub is fully enclosed with a latched gate so don't worry for a second about the little ones safety. Central air-conditioning, a queen-size air mattress, plush bathrobes, and a laundry room, are the final punctuations to this downtown charmer.  Finally, check out the extensive Welcome Book (at the house and linked in your welcome message) which offers a vast array of things to do, places to see, travel tips, outdoor activities, and local happenings like weekly Farmer's Markets, monthly Maker's Fair, annual festivals, and experiences not to be missed in this fantastic coastal playground. My family and I had a perfect experience at La Maison! The host was so helpful and a wonderful communicator. She has the house set up so welll for guests. And the house itself is super comfortable, with a perfect location in town. The beds were wonderful! Can’t wait to come to back !

I picked La Maison based on the location so our family (three generations) could walk easily around downtown. It was great to have the convenience of great local restaurants and shopping within a close distance but far enough (a block away) from the main area. Rachael was very communicative. It was a pleasure to stay here.

Our party of 5 women friends stayed here for three days and we really loved it. the home is clean, extremely well-appointed, lots of amenities and just a block from downtown State Street, so everything was available to us. For a street so close to downtown, it was very quiet. We enjoyed the seating on the patio (although we never did get in the hot tub!) and the dining room and living room were super comfortable, too. All of the beds were comfortable--even the trundle. We definitely recommend, and will stay here again next time we're in Santa Barbara.

The home was fantastic for our group of 5. Location was great, place was super clean and nicely decorated, and way bigger than it looked from the street. We only had one short night to spend there, wish we would have had more time to explore the area.
