Situated in Indian Rocks Beach, this charming house for $269 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. SANDY SHORES has three beautiful cottages: THE GULF THE PATIO (#508989) and THE GARDEN (see #508994) and has been in the Hall family for over 60 years, and is currently owned and operated by Myrtle Hall. Myrtle is German-born and moved to Indian Rocks Beach in 2000 when she married her late husband, Ned. Ned’s grandmother bought the Indian Rocks Beach property in 1946. Ned's father George Hall built the first, two-story building in 1952. The one-story Gulf Cottage followed in 1972. Ned's family lived here in the winter, and spent the summer in Ithaca, NY, where his father was the Golf Coach at Cornell University for over 40 years. Ned followed in his footsteps as a PGA Teaching Professional for over 25 years. He was teaching at the Clearwater Golf Club located in Clearwater, Florida when Myrtle, in Florida on holiday from Germany, met him in 1998. Myrtle and Ned, of course, had their wedding right in front of beautiful Sandy Shores! Like Ned, Myrtle fell in love with this beautiful property and its rich family history. Ned and Myrtle started to rent out their cottages in 2005 after a complete beautification and enjoyed every minute of sharing this lovely property with their guests. Myrtle carries on the Hall family tradition of hospitality at Sandy Shores and adds her special brand of German warmth. Her attention to detail and cleanliness makes Sandy Shores a unique and charming retreat. Surf, white sand and sun, coupled with quiet solitude, magnificent sunsets, and the shade of the Australian Pines make this the perfect getaway spot. You will enjoy one of the most beautiful beaches in the world - perfect for a morning stroll or an afternoon shelling expedition, as well as beautiful-maintained accommodations. Sandy Shores is a slice of Old Florida at it's very finest. The beach of Indian Rocks beach offers not only to the lovers of a quite vacation, but also for the ones, who enjoy some adventures and activities in this area. There just aren’t sufficient words in the English language to accurately describe our positive experience at Sandy Shores! We’ve been to Florida many times, but this is our first stay at a beach cottage. If you’re looking for a quiet, private, lovely place to disconnect from the world and enjoy all that the Florida gulf coast has to offer, then this is the place for you! Sandy Shores provides the best of both worlds, serenity and privacy, yet within walking distance to local eateries and entertainment. Myrtle is a most gracious host and always on site to make sure her guests are well cared for. We aren’t well seasoned travelers by any means, but we know a gem when we see one! Our stay at Sandy Shores was our first and it certainly won’t be our last!

We stumbled upon Sandy Shores while looking for vacation ideas. The host and property had glowing reviews so we took a gamble and booked
We were told to email Myrtle a week before our stay and to call her when we were about 30 minutes away. She met us at our room and proceeded to give us a tour of the property. She then told us that if we needed anything at all then she was only a phone call away. Then we were on our own
The property has EVERYTHING! We had packed all kinds of chairs and umbrellas and we never even had to unpack them. Our room was clean and comfortable! The property is filled with comfortable seating, beautiful plants and a variety of small lizards and birds! It was a little slice of paradise We’ll absolutely be back!

It was nice not having someone above or next to us like a hotel. Music across the street was tolerable and ended early enough.
Short walk out the door to the beach VERY nice.
Bathroom NOT meant for folks with balance issues.
Overall it was an excellent vacation. Host was available if needed but not a busy body.

We recently stayed in the Gulf cottage on Indian Rocks beach. The property and landscaping are beautiful. The cottage is very spacious and tastefully decorated. The outside has plenty of chaise lounges and tables. We grilled a few times on the onsite gas grill. One of the most memorable parts of our stay was taking the chaise lounges down to the beach in the evening to watch the beautiful sunsets happening right in front of us. We even saw some dolphins swimming. Truly magical and special. Myrtle takes pride in the property, and it shows. We loved the evening lights that sparkled red and green in the courtyard. I highly recommend staying here.

This is a little piece of paradise. The property was clean, safe and we had great communication with owner. Beautiful beach located right outside of our door and captain chairs overlooking the beach. Walking distance to mamy restaurants.

This is a great little property located right on the Gulf coast with excellent eateries right across the street. Myrtle is a wonderful hostess. The property is well kept and very neat and clean. My wife and I love IRB and are planning a return trip here for next year.

A true “old Florida” home with the beach as your front yard and surrounded by pine tress and sea grapes, this is a beach lover’s paradise. Often things look better in pictures and then when you check in, you wonder if you’re at the wrong place. This was ABSOLUTELY NOT what it was like here. The actual place was so much better than the pictures. EXTREMELY clean, great location and Myrtle was wonderful. Prompt to return messages. When we got there, she met us and showed us all around the property and the cottage we were staying in. I really like that she lives on the property. I can truly see why she has all 5 star ratings! We hope to return there again in the future.

Great Beach Stay
Had a wonderful time at beach here. The place was perfect for a long weekend getaway. It was right on the beach which was perfect as we had 2 little ones with us, and extra beach equipment if needed. Myrtle is very nice and attentive and was there us we needed anything too. Overall a wonderful place and experience.

Perfect and Charming Cottage
This is the best place I have ever stayed! Everything about it was perfect! The cottage was adorable and the grounds impeccable. The cottage had everything you needed. Myrtle was the kindest host. She provides beach towels, umbrellas, chairs, coolers, etc… The beach and sunsets were gorgeous every day.. Indian Rocks Beach is a cute little beach town. You can easily walk or bike everywhere. We went to Tarpon Springs and Johns Bay for an afternoon., But honestly it was so nice to just come back to Sandy Shores. We will definitely be back!!

AMAZING
If you are looking to stay near Clearwater, and want to take advantage of location. This is the place for you! My girlfriend and I stayed in Cabin 4 which had ocean views from the living room, not only was the room extremely clean it was very well organized. The location is prime, there was so much do to that we will have to come back to hit spots we wanted to go but ran out of time. You are 20 mins from Clearwater and 20 mins from St. John’s pass. The yard she has was absolutely stunning, you can tell Mrytle takes extremely good care of the property itself and it reflects in the yard maintenance that is done every day! One review can not even give you an idea on how wonderful this place was. If you are looking in this area, do not waste time and book this place with Myrtle! When we return, we will not stay Anywhere else moving forward. Thank you again for the hospitality Mrytle!

Sandy Shores Gulf Cottage is a wonderful, relaxing, stay on the beach in Indian Rocks Beach. Myrtle is a great host and makes sure you have everything you need for your stay. And her gardens are a relaxing oasis when the beach gets too hot.

Don’t hesitate - BOOK IT
To say that our stay was amazing is an understatement. We are already planning our next trip back because of how special this place really is! The whole place feels like a special little private oasis. Myrtle literally thinks of everything to make you comfortable. Beach front, all beach equipment provided, easy parking, plenty of towels, stocked kitchen, lounging chairs, plenty of places to eat outside, proximity to everything.,, this place has it all! I can’t wait to stay here again soon! If you have any hesitation, don’t, just book it now!!!!

This was a beautiful location. The cottage was lovely, with views of the dunes and gulf. So easy to walk to the beach. The hostess is wonderful. There was nothing we needed that was not provided. A place we would not hesitate renting again.

We were there for our 30th wedding anniversary and just wanted a quiet and relaxing time for ourselves. Everything and everyone was wonderful, couldn't ask for more. Such a beautiful location and home. My husband and I came for our honeymoon and enjoyed every moment of our stay! It was peaceful and had a private beach access! Another great point was the beach chairs and umbrellas provided. That was a nice touch since it was 90 degrees and sunny the whole week! The garden area was also very pretty. I loved the pineapple plants! The location gave us the option to walk to a few restaurants and a brewery in less than 5 minutes, but also be a short drive from st pete and Clearwater where you can have your busier experience. Definitely a gem of a place!
