About this house rental
Located in Galiano Island, this lovely house for $191 per night is a fantastic option for your next vacation. Welcome to the Meadows! This is an ideal property for a family or couples to gather together and enjoy all that beautiful Galiano has to offer. Private and sunny, enjoy a barbeque in our covered patio, observe the birds ( and occasional otter) visiting our pond or just kick back and be entertained by the hummingbirds flitting about the established fruit orchard. We welcome one well behaved dog. If you have more than one dog, please reach out to us prior to booking. We have a $25 pet fee. Located on 10 acres in the mid-south portion of Galiano, we are close to spectacular beaches and award winning dining. Montague Provincial Marine Park, with its great trails and spectacular sunsets, is only a 5 minute drive away and is one of Galiano's favourite beach destinations. Our one story rancher comfortably sleeps up to 6 guests- featuring 3 large bedrooms with a king and 2 queens (one with an ensuite bathroom). We also have a couple of day bed areas, popular for napping and reading. Kids love our sandbox and rope swings and the whole family can enjoy outdoor fun with badminton and bocci ball. Inside, we have a growing selection of board games, puzzles and toys. We live nearby in a cabin on the property-close enough to give assistance if needed, far enough for you to have plenty of privacy. Thank you for a wonderful stay from the warm fireplace that you started for us Aussies coming from a 39 deg summer to BC winter... to the large house with ample space for cozy couch time to eating together with all the family at the large table. We appreciate the privacy as well as the access to Gord and Luerene if we needed any help. You home is lovely, comfortable and had everything we needed for our stay.

We try to visit Galiano at least once a year and this has become our favourite place to stay. There is more than enough room, the kitchen is well stocked and I love the heated floor.
While this trip was just the two of us we've often said what a great place this would be for a family to spend a week's vacation.
The owner is very friendly and helpful. We highly recommend a stay at this VRBO.

We had a fantastic stay at Gord's property. Everything was a short drive and the lawn was huge with a swing, badminton net and great covered patio. Kids loved it.
Gord made sure we had wood for the fire and that we had everything we needed.
We're looking forward to going back.

We had a wonderful time with our family at Gord and Laurene’s place. It is peaceful and serene and offers many activities to enjoy while there. It is close to the ferry and many walking trails. A vehicle is needed to get around the island.

The location is good. The property is on a somewhat busy road, but is set far back and so is private and quiet. One of the best swimming beaches on the island is a short 5 minute drive away. Unlike many properties on the Gulf Islands, the water is clean tasting with no noticeable smell or taste.
The hosts are very friendly and pleasant. They were very understanding of some last minute changes on our end. And thank you for the loan of the canoe paddles!

Right in the middle of the island and on its own little access road off the main highway this was our perfect base for the wedding we attended. We could scoot up to bodega ridge, or quickly to the harbour or shops for coffee or a bite to eat. House was large and fit us 6 easily, could have fit more too.

Relaxation on Galiano Island
The house was spacious and very well equipped for everything you might need on your vacation. I loved the pantry for storing all non-perishables in a place where they were easy to find. The beds were comfortable and the place was very clean. The owner promptly replaced the propane for the BBQ when we ran out. We appreciated our hosts' understanding of our reactive dog very much. You can tell they truly care about their guests' enjoyment - Thank you for a relaxing week!

What a great property.
We had a great stay at the Meadows. House is exactly as listed, and perfectly private. Had a couple days without internet but that’s no issue for us. Once it started working, it’s plenty fast enough for your teens to stay connected. Would highly recommend.

We were two adults with our college-age niece. There are five bedrooms, so we had a lot of choices. The beds were comfortable. The living and dining areas are big, the kitchen has everything you need. The wood stove was great and kept the house cozy and warm. We didn't use the yard this trip as it rained quite a lot. But there is a nice back porch and huge property all around. The house is near the trails we like to hike and not far from other restaurants and groceries, we found it perfect for our needs. The owners are very friendly. We thought it would be great to return with more family for a mini-reunion one day.

We loved our stay! Communication was easy, and the place is very spacious! The large, fenced in backyard was perfect for our active dog to run around in. And there is so much for the kids to do in the yard as well! We would love to come back one day :)

Excellent pet-friendly getaway for two families staying together
We had a wonderful stay with 2 families (4 adults, 4 kids) and 2 dogs. The layout was perfect for this configuration, with 3BRs at one end of the house and 2BRs at the other. The beds were very comfortable and everyone slept well. It would have been ideal to have an extra bathroom at the other end of the house (currently one bathroom and small ensuite on the 3BR side). The kitchen was well appointed and nicely stocked with key items (baking supplies, spices etc). We enjoyed the large yard, which was perfect for the dogs, though the ground was quite wet and boggy (in Feb). It would be fun to return in the late summer / early fall to pick fruit from the small orchard. The outdoor patio was lovely, and the younger kids enjoyed trying out the swings hung from various trees in the yard. The central location on the island made it easy to get to key spots across the island (Saturday market, high bluffs park, Bodega Ridge). We discovered a few small maintenance issues when we arrived which were addressed quickly. LTE Internet is weak in this part of the island and the house WiFi was not always strong, but that was a nice excuse and reminder to step away from technology for most of the weekend. Communication was prompt and friendly. We will return!

The house was bigger than I thought it would be.
The temperature was nice in the house when we first arrived and the house was clean.
Lots of space to roam around,big kitchen, plenty of games to play and lots of places to sleep or just sit on the big couch.
The garden is big and secluded and the deer are roaming around outside the fence, they might just even pose for a photo!
If you are lucky you can enjoy some fruit from the trees in the garden.
Gord and Laurene stopped by for a quick welcome and they are just lovely people...

The house was very welcoming and comfortable to enjoy a lazy afternoon or evening star gazing. Montague Harbour is an easy 5 minute drive and we visited there several times as well as exploring some other island spots. Everything was needed was in the house and when we did run into a couple of small issues, Laurene was very responsive and helped make our stay relaxing and enjoyable. Thank you! There were only 3 of us but there were beds we didn't even use and plenty of room to spread out and find a little private chill space. I'd happily stay here again.
