Grande Bay Resort is a 48 unit resort directly on Cruz Bay and less than a five minute walk to ‘downtown' Cruz Bay with the ferry and all its restaurants, bars and shops. We have spectacular views of the water and harbor with St Thomas in the distance from the balconies. We are in the upper building within Grande Bay, providing more privacy and quiet than the lower building on the street. Use our condo as your base to explore the most beautiful island on earth..."Somewhere in the Sun"! The moment you disembark the ferry on St. John, our on-island property managers will acquaint you with your island home . Grande Bay Resort features a shared swimming pool and hot tub on a large sun deck, exercise room with treadmills, bikes, elliptical , and various weight equipment, free wireless internet, and 24 hour staffed reception desk and security. GREAT ROOM / BALCONY The rattan furnishings in the great room including a sofa, side chairs, occasional tables, dining table for four, entertainment center with flat screen TV with cable channels, and stereo. The sofa converts to a queen-size bed, so that this unit comfortably sleeps 4 people. Comfortable furnishings, artwork, accessories, and tile floors throughout bring everything together with a Caribbean flair. Through sliding glass doors off the great room you can enjoy al fresco dining or cocktails on the 80 square foot, tiled, covered balcony with a view to Cruz Bay harbor and, in the distance, Pillsbury Sound between St. John and St. Thomas with its beautiful azure water and sailboats tacking in the wind. Enjoy the view with your beverage and snacks on our new drink rails and high back chairs! NEWLY RENOVATED KITCHEN! The fully-equipped gourmet kitchen is newly renovated and includes granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, as well as coffee maker, blender, toaster, teapot, dishes, glassware, cookware, and utensils -- everything you will need to prepare snacks for the beach, exotic island drinks, or a gourmet dinner. A breakfast bar overlooks the kitchen and separates it from the great room. ONE BEDROOM SUITE WITH FULL BATH The tropical decor continues in the bedroom/bath suite which features a king size bed, nightstands with reading lamps, chest of drawers, and flat screen tv. The ensuite bath has a large granite-topped vanity and a tiled shower. All linens and towels - including beach towels-are provided and a washer/dryer and iron/ironing board are available for your use. STUDIO CONDO NEXT DOOR! However, renting a vehicle is optional because of the convenient location of "Somewhere In The Sun"! You are within walking distance of the eclectic duty-free shopping and dining options in the town of Cruz Bay. Solomon and Honeymoon beaches can be reached from the condo on a scenic 30 minute hike from the VI National Park entrance across from Mongoose Junction. Many of the water sport activities originate right in Cruz Bay, as well as a new “golf cart shuttle” service to Honeymoon Beach from Caneel Bay Resort.. Without a vehicle, you are within short walking distance of the VITRAN bus stop and the taxi stand, both located by the ferry dock. Local open-air taxis regularly provide transportation to the most famous of St. John's beaches on the north shore, including Hawksnest, Trunk Bay, Cinnamon Bay, and Maho Bay with the fun “Crossroads” destination. There currently is no requirement for U.S. citizens to have a passport when traveling to the U.S. Virgin Islands. If you wish to venture to the nearby British Virgin Islands, a passport is required. We always love to stay at Grande Bay because of it's pool and close proximity to town. We never need to rent a car as we can walk or grab a cab if needed.

Wonderful experience staying in Jack’s place in Grand Bay. The location is amazing, and the unit is spacious, well maintained, and overall beautiful. We had ample space for myself, wife, and small children to have a wonderful time staying here during our trip to St. John. Communication was great with property manager, who were very helpful as well. Would definitely stay at this property again when we come back!

Property was clean, all the amenities you would need. New full size washer, all the kitchen gadgets you would need, view of cruz bay. Nice for cup of coffee in morning and glass of wine at night. Beach chairs and coolers for your trip to beach...and perfect location to downtown.

This was a great unit, very well taken care of and a great location. It was clean and has everything you need, including towels, beach towels, dishes, beach gear and multiple beach coolers. It was quiet at night and we slept great. I faintly heard a single rooster crowing on one morning but nothing bothersome. Zero road noise. There is a solid rock wall literally right behind the unit so I think that blocks all the noise.
The washer and dryer were very handy to have, and they also provide Gain laundry detergent and dryer sheets. This was so handy and convenient. The smart tv in the den has standard cable stations and also Netflix, Disney +, etc. The sofabed was spacious and comfortable enough for my teen. It was creaky and loud when he moved but he says he slept fine. The king bed in the bedroom was fantastic and very comfortable with nice clean linens.
Parking in town can be a hassle, so it was nice to be able to easily and quickly walk to town from this unit. A little mini mart is a 2 minute walk up the street, and you don’t have to worry about any hills while walking to town.
The pool and hot tub are nice and refreshing, barely anyone in them so you’ll likely have them to yourself. The views from the unit are nice, and even better from the pool deck. The sunset views of Cruz Bay were gorgeous to gaze at every day.
We bought $2 gallons of drinking water from Love City Ice in the lumberyard parking lot, and they’ll refill your empty jugs for $1. The parking garage under the unit has an ice machine for the days you pack the beach coolers.
The lady at the front desk was such a pleasure to see every day, and Rachelle was great and available to assist with any questions and requests.
The assigned parking spot in the garage was a challenge for our 4-door Jeep rental. It is a very tight parking garage and the angles of the garage made it very difficult to park the Jeep without scraping it up. The parking space itself is roomy, but getting into it was rough because it is between two columns, and there are alot of columns across from it as well. So you have to avoid hitting all these columns with your car while you try and angle into the parking space. Rachelle can find you another space if one of her units is available. Smaller cars and even 2-door jeeps will have no problem getting into the parking space.
We had a wonderful stay in this unit and will absolutely be staying in Grande Bay again on our next trip to St John.

Proximity to town and restaurants is excellent and the beaches are just a short drive away. It was a little difficult to find where the office is when you first arrive and where you park. Perhaps a property map would help.

Fabulous getaway
We had the most lovely time in St. John, and Jack's condo was the perfect place for us to stay. Great location, comfortable bed and easy check in process.

This unit was perfect for our use. Great to get up and look out at the water. Location is excellent for local establishments within Cruz Bay. Only negative was some roosters were located in the back that woke us up a little too early.

Grande Bay
Grande Bay is an excellent place to base your vacation in St John. It is in walking distance to all the restaurants and shops in Cruz Bay. The unit was lovely with everything you need in kitchen and bath. It was also well fitted with coolers, beach chairs and plenty of towels. The concierge was very helpful and answered all our questions. Thank you Jack for the hospitality.

Since we are a family of four adults, we chose to rent both the studio and one bedroom condo and we were very comfortable. The condo had everything we needed from beach stuff to kitchen stuff. Would definitely recommend!!!

We were late on booking and were able to get a one bedroom for a family of 4. It was a Thanksgiving holiday so our fault. However, we were able to make it work and had a great stay as usual. The only thing I would say is that the unit attaches to a studio and you could hear the other guests pretty well through they are joining door. Other than that everything was great.

First class accommodations!
We loved the location and was perfect for restaurants and night life. Pool and hot tub were great. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. We had a great relaxing vacation!!

We were looking for a great last minute getaway. We had never visited USVI and we really wanted to play it safe. Location is within walking distance of the ferry, coffee shops, and restaurants. There are also several places to grocery shop. The Grande is a super property and we really enjoyed our stay

Our family thoroughly enjoyed our stay. This was our third time staying at Grande Bay, but this first time in this unit. The unit was clean and exactly as advertised on VRBO. The owner was very helpful through the booking and check in process, and the support staff at Grande Bay was excellent as always. All of the furnishings were in excellent shape, and we really appreciated having access to some of the items in the storage locker (coolers, chairs, etc.) that made daily excursions much more convenient. The location in Cruz Bay was perfect for walking to dinner, drinks, and stores, and the taxi stand at the ferry dock made getting around the island simple. The pool deck was an excellent place to watch the sunset as well.
