About this condo rental
Nestled in Wild Dunes, this charming condo for $864 per night is a great option for your next vacation. Beachfront - Location, Location, Location! 401 Summer House condo is on Isle of Palms, right on the beach! Back on VRBO in 2024 for the full after three years of exterior upgrades! Our building is ocean front and with the consent exposure to the wind and salt, it was time for our building to have a structure and foundation evaluation. Following the engineering report, it has been newly renovated over the past three years now only has the metal structure be reinforced with multiple coating and the foundation newly poured concrete footings, but the walkways and balconies, elevators, stairways, lighting, and exterior ceilings have been upgraded! It's like brand new! The ocean views will greet and astound you the second you walk off of the elevator! This vacation beach house is in the Award Winning, private, gated golf and ocean club community, Wild Dunes in Isle of Palms, SC. This very private, spacious, end unit condo directly faces the beach and is situated so that it is closest to the beach. Stunning ocean views up and down the shoreline. The unit 401 is located on fourth floor of a five-story building, high enough for spectacular views. This oceanfront condo directly faces the beach and is situated closest to the beach with other units fading away behind it from the ocean for maximum privacy and stunning ocean views. The oceanfront balcony runs the width of the unit and has access from the large open living area as well as two of the three bedrooms. Recently remodeled, this beautiful condo is decorated with coastal-style furnishings and we stay there often ourselves. Before buying this condo, we rented one of the Summerhouse condos every summer. So I have our condo how I’d like to have it as if I were renting it for my family, including a keyless entry door, a storm glass front door, a Keurig, coffee pots, kitchen spices, large pots and slow cooker, beach chairs, master closet open for use, movies/books/games, double ice-maker refrigerator, and x-large washer/dryer. There is a Harris Teeter grocery and package store on the island as you first come off the Connector, which is very close and convenient! The space includes a dining room, pantry and dinette in the kitchen, laundry room with washer and dryer. There is wireless high-speed internet; four (4) flat screen TVs with Blu-ray players; HBO/Showtime channels; comfortable couches & cozy chairs with light blankets to cuddle-up for a good movie after beach hours! There are plenty of books, games, and puzzles for your enjoyment! The main area has a smart TV, so don’t forget your movie APP account login, like Netflix. Private, residents only swimming pool with spacious sundeck and beach walkway with showers for beach access. Convenient elevator access from parking area below. We have beach chairs available in the condo for your use, and IOP beach chair company offers their own umbrellas and beach chairs to rent as well. Plus, they conveniently set them up and take them down for you each day so you don't have to! You can also rent bikes, boards, beach carts, and more through them for your stay! Go to iopbeachchair.com BEDROOMS - The three bedrooms each have their own bathroom and TV/video players. Two bedrooms have King beds, sliding glass doors to the balcony, windows with ocean views and bright early morning sun, but also blackout curtains! The third room has two (2) Full beds, add’l VHS player with children’s video library. Extra sleeping: couch is a pull-out Queen bed (comfortable too!) and a bench with a pull-out twin bed. All bedroom closets are available for your use. Pillowtop mattresses with quality protector pads; plenty of pillows; two portable fans; all linens and towels are provided. BALCONY – If not on the beach, our favorite place is the balcony. It overlooks the ocean and you can see up and down the beach. It can be accessed through the living room and two bedrooms. Watch the dolphins, boats, and children playing on the beach. Bring your binoculars to watch the dolphins trail behind the shrimp boats or the cargo ships far out in the channel. Relax with a good book and when you see high tide, you know it’s time to get out for body surfing. KITCHEN - The clean, white kitchen is fully equipped and ready to entertain. It's open to the dining room table and living room. WASHER/DRYER – x-large Samsungs The condo will be professionally cleaned prior to your arrival. Check-in time is 4 PM and check-out is 10 AM. No pets or smoking allowed. In fact, Wild Dunes does not allow renters to bring their dogs, only property owner dogs. When our condo is not rented, it begs my family to come stay, but with hunting season approaching in Tennessee – that’s a tough call for the guys. I, myself, go down frequently and make improvements with each visit. Door handle on screen door fell off upon entrance to condo. Several kitchen cabinets broken and difficult to open and close. Kitchen drawer broken and unable to close completely. Kitchen dirty. Needs updating.

This was our second time vacationing here and we absolutely love it! The condo is beautiful and in an amazing location. The balcony overlooks the beach. You are very close to the pool. And the beach has just the right amount of people. Not too crowded at all. We used a local chair/umbrella rental company, so had a reserved spot of our own on the beach every day. Love the area. The condo is perfect for our family of six and we can’t wait to return next summer!

Property was exactly as described. It was equipped with everything we needed to have a great week in Wild Dunes. The panoramic view from the balcony was a favorite retreat after a long day at the beach and pool. The biking paths in the resort were much nicer than I had expected and we enjoyed exploring.

Our stay at 401 Summerhouse was perfect. The communication was excellent, the location was exactly what we wanted, the condo was lovely with a well appointed kitchen. We spent most of our time at the condo sitting on the balcony looking at and listening to the ocean, the beach, the birds. We hope to go back in the future.

Our stay at 401 Summerhouse was perfect. The communication was excellent, the location was exactly what we wanted, the condo was lovely with a well appointed kitchen. We had an amazing week in this condo. It was perfect for our family of six. The proximity to the beach and pool is perfect. And the surrounding area is beautiful. Beach not too crowded and was very clean. We have scheduled again for next year. ☺️

It’s located inside Wild Dunes, its prime season the beach isn’t crowded and they area feels safe and homey. Julie was awesome to work with. We had two families, teens ans adults. Super short walk to beach, the teens loved the pool at night, we walked the mile up to Sweetgrass Inn for ice cream and drinks at Hudsons Market a few times. There are restaurants in wild dunes and isle of palms, we mostly ate in Charleston and Mt Pleasant for dinner but you could stay on the island the whole time if you wanted we had too many in Charleston we wanted to try. Our stay was great, we will definitely recommend!

The beach itself is gorgeous and so easy to walk. I understand now why they call it “Wild Dunes”, it’s breathtakingly pristine on this end of the island. The owner texted me a few days into our stay to be sure that everything was meeting our expectations, which I thought was so nice, and again before we left to let us know we could add a day to our stay if we wished. She was also quite flexible with our check in and check out times which we very much appreciated. Thank you, Julie, for a wonderful stay. I would definitely come back here again!

The owners thought of all details and offered so many extras like a coffee bar, bath shampoo and soap, and even had a basket of cooking spices. The decor and amenities were spot on. I can say enough about how accommodating and thoughtful Julie was for our stay. Not too forget the location is prime for beach access and the pool. We were celebrating a milestone birthday for my wife and we sent her ahead of the family for a few quite days. The owner had flowers and a bottle of wine waiting for her. She enjoyed the views from the master bedroom and the early morning walks on the beach. The condo easily accommodated the rest of the family. We topped the week’s stay with a birthday celebration and night out. The condo was clean and had everything we needed to make our stay successful. What made it special was our gracious host and the location. I would recommend this location to anyone looking for a great beachfront stay.

Great Beach Getaway
The condo is in Wild Dunes Resort which is a beautiful gated community. Beautifully decorated with a cozy beach house vibe. Comfortable furniture and beds. Well stocked kitchen. Amazing views from the balcony. The beach never disappoints. Everything you can possibly want is in close proximity. Even with the pandemic, we still managed to visit all the sights and enjoy all that Charleston has to offer. This vacation was exactly what our family needed. Julie is very accessible and a pleasure to work with.

Great Place, well equipped.
Even though we only had 2 sunny days we thoroughly enjoyed our week. Condo was well equipped with pots pans and all utensils for meals. It also had several boogy boards, beach chairs for use and sand tools. Lastly it was very nice to have net flicks and other similar services available to watch movies. Did not expect those. Brought more than we needed to.
