About this house rental
Nestled in Canandaigua Lake, this lovely house for $600 per night is a great choice for your next break. (Disclosure: We cater to families and laid back vacationers. If you are looking for a party house, we would not be your destination. We want to maintain a peaceful and enjoyable environment for our guests as well as our neighbors). Welcome to Lakeview Lodge! Canandaigua's best kept secret! This spacious rustic log home is tucked away on a private drive and sits on 3 1/2 wooded acres overlooking the beautiful and scenic crystal clear waters of Canandaigua Lake. On the main and second floor this home boasts 4 spacious bedrooms and 3 full baths with 1 half bath, 2 large living areas,, and a spacious newly remodeled kitchen. With an additional queen size sofa bed in one of the living areas that make this a home perfect for a large family. There is also a full second kitchen in the basement along with a pool table room and also a great teen hang out room with IKEA furniture. After a fun day at the lake or taking in one of the many local wineries or breweries enjoy a relaxing drink and take in the beautiful lake views on one of the two furnished covered porches. For cool evenings enjoy sitting on a beautiful flagstone patio with stone fire pit overlooking the lake and enjoy the breeze under the canopy of beautiful 60 foot trees. For your furry four-legged family members their is a fenced side yard that will keep them close to you. As for the kids there is plenty of land to roam with a ravine and seasonal stream to work out all that excess energy. We are on a private drive with only two other houses and minimal traffic. The gourmet kitchen has all of the amenities that you need to cook tasty meals including a commercial size grill for outdoor cooking. If you don't feel like cooking there are plenty of wonderful restaurants and the New York Wine and Culinary School within five minutes of our home. There is lake access to Onanda Park only a few miles away from our home which boasts areas for swimming, fishing, tennis, and hiking with waterfalls. In the winter months after a long day of skiing at Bristol Mountain (only 11 miles away) wind down in the eight person Jacuzzi or sit by a crackling fire in one of the four custom wood burning fireplaces throughout the home, including the kitchen. We are thrilled that you are considering a stay with us at Lakeview Lodge and look forward to spoiling you and making your stay a memorable one! Although we do not have private lake access our house is just a short drive to several areas where there is lake access. One is only 1.2 miles from our front door and the other is 6 miles south of us! Our extended family of nine (and two dogs) enjoyed a November break here. The house had ample space for everyone to spread out and do their own thing. The house has four fireplaces that make it ultra cosy! The hot tub was a bonus on cold mornings and clear nights.
The host was extremely accommodating for our departure and arrival times and even ensured we had the right equipment with which to cook our turkey by shipping a new roasting pan.
A very enjoyable stay with lots of space for the dogs to romp and roam!

Some quick info about the home: 3 bedrooms upstairs with 7/8 beds and 2 baths. Downstairs has 2 living rooms and 1 half bath, along with the kitchen and dining room. The home is situated on top of a hill with a view of the lake
Pros:

- lots of deer around to enjoy looking at every morning
Cons:
- this is an older home so you will hear everything going on throughout the house. It needs a lot of updating
- the home was absolutely FILTHY when we got there. Owner of cleaning company came out and had the home cleaned but it was still very dirty and in need of a deep deep cleaning - carpets haven’t been shampooed in a long time, mold/mildew in bathrooms, thick layer of dust throughout the house, dirty refrigerator and kitchen
- some equipment didn’t work, the electricity for the stove stopped working so the oven didn’t work, missing remotes for the televisions
- exposed electrical work throughout the house (dangerous for little kids)
- stink bugs mostly in the Master bedroom, apparently this is normal for being so close to the lake
- a lot of windows do not open properly
- master bedroom AC did not work (very hot room)
- small master bathroom shower
- some of the dining room seating is broken so we were limited on eating together at the table

We had such a wonderful time on our girl's weekend trip here!! Everything was clean and beautiful! We spent so much time snuggling up by one of the many fireplaces, and soaking in the hot tub. Perfect location for a girl's getaway!!

The location of the Cabin was perfect for us, and we loved all the dog-friendly amenities for our 4-legged kids. Mu husband and I could take off right from the cabin for long road bike rides on quiet country roads, while our parents could drive 10 minutes to a wonderful park at the north end of Canandaigua Lake to walk by the lake-shore. We loved sitting on the lawn each morning enjoying the view of the lake, and being able to throw the ball for our dogs. We also loved how quiet the place was, as that is critical for us.
We cooked in all but 1 night during our stay, as the renovated kitchen was just wonderful, and we also loved lighting a fire in one of the fireplaces during some of the evenings when Fall was in the air.
Sherrie was absolutely wonderful to work with! She was incredibly responsive, and even ordered a few things for the house that we needed, as soon as we asked for them. She is one of the best, if not the best, owner I've worked with when booking through this site!

Plenty of room for family of 10 and 2 dogs. Owner was responsive to any questions or needs that we had. Fully stocked kitchen and large table, inside the rustic log house. We enjoyed the view, fire pit, hot tub

The proximity to the town of Canadaigua was awesome and the view of the lake was breathtaking! The house was clean and quiet.

We really enjoyed our stay at this comfortable and spacious cabin. We gathered as four families and this cabin accommodated us comfortably. We especially enjoyed the pool room, updated kitchen, and fire pit. We spent time at lake Canandaigua and in the beauty of the surrounding area. There are plenty of grocery stores with a short drive. On arrival we has an unexpected challenge and the owner/manager was very responsive and helpful. We had a wonderful stay.

We had a family group including children, teens, parents and grandparents and everyone loved this house! Somehow felt like even more space than the photos indicate and everyone was able to sleep well. The fire pit, hot tub and pool room downstairs were all a hit. Easy in to town and lots to explore in the area. Great to have a big, modern kitchen and tons of fridge/freezer space for a large family group. Definitely would stay again!

We loved our stay at Lakeview lodge. We enjoyed the amazing scenery and the relaxed atmosphere of the house! The city of Canandaigua is lovely-beautiful parks, clean lake and great restaurants! We enjoyed family time in the pool room, the porches and the hot tub.

Perfect for family get together celebrating college graduation and attending PGA tournament. Plenty of room for all. Many areas to congregate in or just relax alone. Huge grill, did all of our cooking outside. We really enjoyed the hot tub. Lots to explore locally.

The view of the lake was breathtaking, especially at sunset! We gathered for Easter weekend as a family and it was so relaxing and peaceful. Everyone enjoyed the hot tub. We got a couple piano recitals, we stayed cozy by the fireplaces and even had an outside fire in the pit in the sunshine. We got to watch the deer wander across to the creek. Our dogs loved the fenced in yard. The Lodge had everything we needed to cook and have fun. We would love to go again!

House was perfect for my family, including a 6, 2.5, and 1.5 years old. The house had toys, pack and play for the youngest, and a good TV setup for “rest” time. Kitchen was larger than I had imagined from the pictures. Kids had fun picking out which bed they wanted from the many, many upstairs. Hostess was easy to get a hold of and very friendly. All in all a great weekend and very satisfied with our stay.

If I had to say..I think the landscaping could use some work. Lots of uneven ground. Also, deep cleaning in the house could also be done. The house was perfect for our 2 families, and a 4-legged friend. Probably the most pet-friendly home I have rented. The rooms were spacious, the house clean, the view amazing. And it was lovely to see the deer grazing at breakfast and dinner. Age range for our group was 17 to 85. The teen-agers and "young adults" appreciated the basement/game area. As 2 families stayed, we appreciated having a front porch and a side porch (for "separate quiet time"), the large kitchen table and the enormous front yard for fires, talking, games. Downtown Canadaguia is excellent; many wineries a short distance away; spent a day on Lake Canadaguia, as well as Keuka Lake. Took a day trip to Niagara falls. Definitely, no shortage of things to do or see!
We did have some minor issues with a few appliances--but the owner was very prompt and curtious in responding. Nothing that "ruined our trip".
The one major disappointment with the home is that the wi-fi was nearly non-existent. For a large house, expecting to house a large group, wifi was strongest at 6:30am when everyone else was sleeping. We kept being kicked off the wi-fi, and it was too hard to use. Even for the TVs which used wifi to connect to the streaming services. So, all in all, it was a very "unplugged" week, or we ended up using a lot of data on our device plans.
Other than that, this is a top-notch home rental.
