Nice size and fully equipped cottage for six people to stay for a weeklong family reunion near the beach. Our dogs also really enjoyed the ocean, quiet neighborhood, park and beaches to walk. The host is very friendly and helpful. We had a wonderful time. Highly recommend.

If your looking for a quiet getaway in RI this is it! The property location is beautiful! It is right near the water. You can launch a kayak/Canoe derectly across the street.You can also watch the sunrise over the inlet from the bay window in the living room. The house was very clean and comfortable. It was more spacious then it looks in the pictures. The back deck was perfect for grilling and relaxing! The beds were comfortable! Mike was very helpful and attentive and made sure we had everything we needed. We definitely want to visit again!

The home was bigger than we expected. It had 3 separate sleeping areas and a nice big kitchen and living room. A great location with an awesome view of the water and nice neighborhood for walking. Close to activities without being in the middle of all the chaos.

We enjoyed our time here, morning coffee with a view of the water was very relaxing. We toured all over Newport, Providence, Bristol, New Bedford and this was a convenient location for all.

Older home, but very clean and fit the online description. Beautiful view of the bay and neighborhood. Very responsive host, provided very detailed information about the area and restaurants.

What a wonderful stay we had! The place is incredibly clean and truly pet friendly. Nice space downstairs, and the back deck is huge, with a nice gas grill. The view of the inlet from the giant bay window in the living had an egret that greeted us daily. Michael, the host, gave us the space we needed and also said hello on the street when we were walking our dog. He’s a wonderful person, and we highly recommend this place!!!

While the cottage could use a cosmetic update or two, it was absolutely spotless and had everything we needed. The location was perfect -- not only with water views and water access, but close enough to the highway and the local sites. We were there in the cooler weather, but I can only imagine how great it would be stay there during the warmer months between the water and the expansive back deck. Our host, Michael, was always available and communication was easy. We'll definitely stay again!

This is a lovely vintage cottage home perfect for my quiet getaway for reading and writing. The kitchen has all the essentials to prepare meals.

It was our first family trip to Rhode Island. We decided to go VRBO, because the thought of four days in a hotel room was not pleasant. This little place was perfect. Mike, the host, could not have been more accommodating as check in procedure was seamless. We went in February and lots of places were closed but we got good tips of where to go and eat and we had a fantastic time, he’s very gracious and understanding professional. I even forgot my charger and he popped it in the mail in no time and refused payment for the postage. I will stay again no doubt. The house is cozy. It looks like a former cottage that’s been redone. It’s rustic. It has character. If you’re expecting perfection, and you want architectural digest-like digs, this is not it. However, it was neat is a pin, ad in eat off the flour clean…Everything was there that we needed and Mike’s hosting was outstanding.

There are so many great things about the house. It really reminded me of my childhood. The view out of the bay window when the sunrise and sunset worth it. The neighbor are friendly had a someone who was remodeling a few doors down came over and talk and was friendly. The neighborhood is very quiet. The beach is maybe 4 blocks away so very close. Food works is a restaurant amazing breakfast, Anthony’s seafood. Mike was so helpful and friendly. I have stayed in a few VRBO and by far Mike was friendliest great host. I would definitely stay here again in future 5 stars.

This sweet, cozy cottage, with a spectacular water view is the place to stay if you want to experience the quintessential New England village. Where do I start? As you drive into this quaint neighborhood you will notice darling houses on both sides. As you get closer the serenity and calm sets in. The house is situated so that you can see the water from the living room bay window. You will see colorful row boats and canoes dotting the shoreline. The house has a very large main floor with a beautiful deck area and fenced yard. The landscaping and shrubbery provide a completely private setting. The kitchen is fully stocked with everything you need to cook. There are plenty of luxurious bath towels, pillows and blankets. You won’t hear a sound when you doze off to sleep each night. Literally minuets from the house is an adorable coffee shop, that has homemade muffins and and specialty items. Treat yourself to lunch on their water view back lawn. There are so many local restaurants within easy reach to the house. Easy access to Middletown, Newport, Cliff Walk and shopping. Mike was a wonderful host and went out of his way at every turn. He and his wife left us candy, roses and a card, as we arrived to celebrate our 30th Anniversary. That was an incredible welcome and made us feel very special. Mike recommended an outstanding seafood dive, (best food on the trip)!!! And a supermarket where we were able to purchase steamed lobsters for a bargain price and enjoy them outside on our deck. I can’t say enough about Mike and the house. We had such a relaxing trip and can’t wait to come back. Thank you Mike for making this such a memorable road trip for us.

Awesome, clean, spacious living area, nice backyard deck, and view of the water. Only two things I would like to see, first, would be better shower enclosure. The mat wasn't anchored. Unfortunately, 2 for my family members slipped because the bath mat slid and they got a little banged up. Second, the narrow, curved stairs was hard to navigate at night. And maybe a shelf or side table at bathroom sink.

Mike’s home is just right for spending time in Portsmouth. The views of the cove are spectacular and the property was so well-suited for our family of four to be comfortable. Mike is an attentive and thoughtful host and was easy to communicate with. We were in the area for a wedding in Newport but loved coming home each night to the water, the stars, and the cozy cabin.

We really enjoyed our stay at this lovely house. Mike is very responsive and super easy to work with. The house is extremely clean and comfortable. It is spacious, with a nice deck in the back. We love the view of the water from the living room window! So peaceful and relaxing!! And our dog loves his daily walk along the nearby beaches. Mike provided a lot of helpful information about things to do, places to visit and also recommended nice restaurants in the area. It is much appreciated! This was our first time in Portsmouth, the area is beautiful and more space in the house than we had expected. It was a relaxing trip, perfect location close to a fun playground and within walking distance from a beach. Lots to do nearby and we really enjoyed our stay! Also, pet friendly a big plus!

Had a wonderful week at Mike’s place. The house was exactly what I’d hoped for, and the location was even better than expected. Plenty of things to do, see, and eat within walking distance. The backyard, with a large deck and privacy fence, was a huge bonus. Hope to come back someday!

Overall the house was clean and had a picturesque view from the front window. It was convenient to all things in Rhode Island. Michael gave great suggestions and was easy to communicate with. Since it’s an older home, it doesn’t have central AC, so you do need to run the wall units and fans constantly which can be a bit loud. The kitchen was stocked with cookware, but not spices, cooking spray, etc, so just plan ahead.

This is a small older house across the street from the bay. Super clean, responsive owner, everything we needed for a week was in the house. We grilled four out of six nights and the gas didn't run out. The back deck is super. We could have paid twice as much and had bigger rooms and a second bathroom but for what we paid we got so much value. The view overlooking the water is just great. The neighborhood is quiet, friendly and convenient.

We enjoyed our stay so much and contact w host super helpful and informative . House is older and not updated much but very comfortable, quaint and super clean. Host does a great job of making you feel comfortable and taken care of, from clean spotless white fluffy towels to great deck w plenty of seating. There isn’t a ton of personal stuff on walls and shelves which I loved, but enough to be decorative and give a homey feeling. My only “complaint” would be mattresses in bedrooms upstairs being slightly too soft and may be a bit worn out. Post supplies with plenty of window air conditioners, and fans when weather is hot. Kitchen is well stashed with what you need, and refrigerator and freezer in perfect condition. We are definitely coming back, may be already in the fall.

My family and I enjoyed staying at this house. It's about a 20 minute drive from downtown Newport, but the drives were never bad. Close to grocery stores and plenty of views of the water. Michael was a great host, as he answered all of my random questions. He also gave me a recommendation of a place to take my grandmother for her birthday dinner! The bath towels were incredible. House was super clean. It is clear that this house is an older house, with older house charm (ex: narrow stairs, old house noises), but we loved every minute of it!
