Nestled in Kansas, this charming house for $208 per night is a fantastic option for your next break. Come and relax while you discover nature at its finest at our cabins at Lake Wabaunsee. Lake Wabaunsee is a beautiful, clear, spring-fed lake in Northeast Kansas. This cabin is a completely furnished luxury cabin that sleeps six on the upper level. The upper level features three bedrooms, two full bathrooms (including an in-suite bathroom in the master bedroom), a spacious living room, an eat-in kitchen, a laundry room with a full-size washer and dryer, a front entry porch, and a spacious back deck with a scenic lake view. An added bonus for this cabin is the boat house. This makes an for ideal location in which teenagers can hang out. The lower level features an additional bedroom and bathroom, as well as a living, dining, and kitchen area. It also features covered and open-air decks which overlook the lake. The lower level can accommodate an additional four people comfortably.The upper and lower floors are always rented only to the same person or group. There has been some confusion, if you rent it you have the upper and lower floors as well as the boat house. This cabin is located at an ideal spot on the lake to watch the slow parade of boats that cruise around the lake. This cabin and boathouse are in a 'no wake' cove across from the free swimming beach. The docks provide easy access to boats for the passengers.

This place was perfect for our family Christmas. There is enough space that you do not feel like you are on top of each other. The game room was great. It was too cold to use the water toys but it was nice to sit and relax at the deck of the boathouse. Beware there are a ton of stairs to get down there, but my 80 yr old mother in law was able to get down and back. There is a café and bar there at the lake that was good and homey. Jim is quick to answer any messages. He also made arrangements to have the Christmas tree put up for my nephew to decorate. We plan to rent again this summer.

We stayed at this cabin the Friday and Saturday of the weekend my daughter got married in Alma. It was a great place to get away from all the wedding hustle and bustle. It was very quiet and peaceful. There were quite a few cobwebs we had to break through on the front porch that maybe a quick swipe with a broom might have eliminated but you are at the lake so bugs are to be expected. Otherwise a very nice property!!

Nice and quiet, nestled in the trees. Access to lake a bit of a trip with the many stairs, but very doable. Beautiful scenery and very relaxing. Lovely home and unique boat house. Cell phone service was questionable, although Wi-Fi in the house helped some. Very friendly people in the area and we would definitely return again sometime!

not happy with quality. ok for fishing trip not family. Smoke alarms were not working and a worker was there to fix tile while it was rented. did not let us know ahead of time. Host never replied to questions.

Our family loved our long weekend at this lake house. The house has plenty of room for a large family and the pool table is a great amenity! We didn't stay inside much though as the boat house is a fantastic place to swim and kayak. We will definitely be booking again!

My family and I had an amazing little getaway at this cabin. It was just perfect for us. We loved the whole cabin and the location. We spent quite a bit of time at the boathouse, the view was beautiful.
The cabin had everything that we needed, although I couldn't find measuring cups. We had kids with us, so we utilized the washer and dryer.
We enjoyed playing pool, sitting inside of the air conditioned boathouse, grilling and roasting marshmallows for smores and sitting around the firepit. The host was very nice and always responded to my messages.
As long as this property is a vrbo, we will be back! We are already planning our next stay.
The only downside for us, would have been the many steps down to the boathouse, mainly because of having to carry a 2 year old and 7 month old and all of their stuff. (It's quite steep, but we got our exercise!)
My daughters loved kayaking, although getting the kayaks in and out of the water was quite a feat.... it was worth it! We were concerned about whether or not there would be lifevests. We were happy that there were plenty, in all sizes.

Good location next to the lake with a nice view. Multiple items of information were contradictory or in adequate. It looked like it hadn’t been rented in a while. It was not very clean. We still had fun.

Great two level home where our kids claimed the basement and learned to play pool and poker there, in between kayaking and fishing. Comfortable beds. The checkout cleaning list was not overwhelming.

We always love this space. Clean with room for kids to run around, great dock with kayaks. The only complaint is that the internet connection is bad. I suppose If you're hoping to unplug it's fine!

I took my boys (23 & 18) down to the lake for a boys weekend getaway. We could not have asked for a better home and location than this. We absolutely loved every single thing about this house and location on the lake. Caught lots of fish, played pool, cards, sat outside by the firepit and grilled some steaks and brats. Jim was very easy to work with and we just loved everything about our stay. Even had dinner one night at the local lodge, which was fantastic! Just can’t say enough about how great this little hidden gem was for us. Thank you Jim for sharing your place with us.

House was nice. Needs a few updates. Kitchen light didn’t work. The listing needs to include the list of cleaning that has to be done prior to leaving. Strip beds, used towels in bathtub, sweep, vacuum, take all trash to the road. When you pay a cleaning fee, I don’t feel like we should be required to do all that. I understand towels in the tub and garbage, but sweeping and vacuuming seems like something I paid for.
The owner was reachable the first 24hrs after that I could not reach him through the VRBO or his number. Internet did not work so no wifi or Netflix as listed.
Overall the stay was great and we made do with everything. We had a great stay. The above mentioned cleaning, internet, and communication is just my experience and opinion. Otherwise it was great.

The cabin/lodge was very clean, inviting, and comfortable for me, my wife, and three kids. The boat house was great to sit and relax, fish, and swim off of. The kayak was fun to take around and the lake was very quiet and relaxing overall. It was exactly as listed and we had no complaints. I could see the parking being difficult with more than one vehicle.

Comfortable and Easy
We used this as a base of operation for a Flint Hills photoshoot. Photographer, assistant, directors and models.
The property was very clean and it was great to have space for the teenagers call their own. Everyone had a bed and slept very comfortably. A bit disappointed in the boathouse. The pictures and description led us to believe this would be more accessible than it was. We were unable to get to the kayak (which was quite dirty) and the stairs/boathouse were a little dirty for photos—guessing nobody had been there for a bit. We were able to adjust our plan and take pics on a small, public dock a short ways down the lake. In general, for the money and location, it was a perfect solution!

Beautiful setting
The laundry room floor was sunken and mushy, and was leaking into the basement. The downstairs toilet was not working. The railings around the dock did not seem secure, and the 81 steps from the house down to the dock needed work. We definitely left the house cleaner than we found it. None of this ruined our stay, but some better upkeep would be appreciated.
Overall the property was very comfortable, with comfortable beds and seating. We loved hanging out on the upstairs deck at night. The kitchen appliances worked well and there were adequate supplies in the cabinets. There were plenty of towels and wash cloths. The kids loved the pool table and jumping off the dock.
The lake itself is very clean, beautiful, and a perfect place to swim, kayak, and hang out.

Lots of room
There was lots of room to spread out our larger group. The wooded area behind the house is cool. Those steps down to the lake definitely aren't for the elderly but the view of the lake is worth it. Make sure you go across the lake to the sand beach for swimming.
