Great location...secure parking
Within walking to restaurants, the French Quarter and waterfront. Very secure facility with gated grounds and parking. Glenn was great to work with. Would recommend.

My boyfriend and our two friends stayed in this lovely property for a long weekend. We loved it - great walking location to Bourbon and Frenchmen and be sure to check out Ruby Slipper Cafe for brunch! The place was well maintained and communication with the owner was easy. We’re from DC so the slightly rough neighborhood was not too intimidating - I understand how other reviews from different areas might be a little intimidated. Do not sleep on staying at this property - it’s an amazing find!

We had an awesome time in NOLA as we always do, but I cannot say that we enjoyed where we stayed. As some reviews mentioned before, the space has great potential, but it is a bit dated and unloved. Bedding and towels were worn and well used. Bathrooms v could use an update as well.Furniture a bit stained. Limited TV channels,

If you are driving to NOLA this is your spot. Secure locked parking. Easy walking to Frenchman st and Bourbon. We walked to Riverwalk and the warehouse district. Easy drive to Mid City for the park and music festival.
Lots of room, the loft was good for our adult daughters. Fully stocked kitchen. Lots of security. Would stay here again.

This was the worst of our many experiences with VRBO or other such rental experiences all over the US and abroad.
First, a few positives: We were grateful that the owner allowed us to check in early (by 2pm), and that he met us upon check-in and shared a few tips (e.g. location of grocery store, and not be out between 12am and 6am - to stay safe.). Also, the garden is beautiful, and the place is bigger than we expected.
Yet, during our week stay, we discovered that the apartment:
(1) had not been well cleaned (or at all?)
(2) was not well maintained
(3) lacked basic cleaning and cooking supplies
(4) was FLEA INFESTED (and causes very painful, itchy bites)– perhaps brought in by rodents (we saw a small rat or mouse run from the trash can to chimney in the kitchen).
Upon arrival, we found a dried-out lizard on the kitchen counter, and a live cockroach on the floor; a dirty sock and T-shirt under one of the beds, and spills in the freezer that hadn’t been cleaned up. Also, most dishes were in the dishwasher and weren't fully clean.
There was water damage with pealing plaster in nearly every room – especially in the upstairs bedroom. The doorknob to the Main Bedroom was broken, and the soap dish in the Main Bathroom fell off the wall from a shoulder simply brushing against it.
To clean the dishes, there was only dish soap. No dishwasher tablets. No sponge nor wash cloth and no dishtowels nor paper towels. Also, the only sharp knife in the kitchen for cooking was very rusty.
And FLEAS! By the 2nd day, we had very itchy and painful bug bites around our ankles. Two days later, we spotted a flea, and upon looking more closely, found them EVERYWHERE.
On day 2, we asked the owner for a kitchen sponge, a cooking knife, a screwdriver (so we could fix the doorknob) and adhesive to re-attach the soap dish (a first step before caulking). He brought us the knife and screwdriver – but not the sponge nor adhesive. We fixed the doorknob and bought the $12 adhesive to reattach the soap dish, and stopped using that shower so it didn’t get wet before the owner could get it caulked to prevent more water getting behind it. He didn’t thank us nor offer to repay.
As for fleas and rodent, he blamed previous renters who had “often left the door open” (though he gives no instructions to tell a renter not to do that). He said he’d set a trap and take care of the fleas before the next guests arrive. And to help us in our final 24 hours of fleas? Nothing.

A few hiccups
My recent stay at this NOLA location was a good one but not without its issues. So that this ends on a positive note, I will start with:
CONS ~
My dad had the downstairs bed/bathroom. His area was decently cleaned but the upstairs, not so much. It wasn't filthy but there was clearly more that could have been done. The beds were INCREDIBLY uncomfortable and it was apparent the comforters hadn't been laundered, I wondered about the sheets too since they were both covered in long strands of hair!! The first night, we slept on top of the everything fully clothed and on top of my airport blanket. The next day, I washed a the sheets and simply removed the comforter altogether; there was nothing to be done about the discomfort of the old, springy mattress, so we slept on the edges of the bed.
The WiFi was quite spotty and the TV kept cutting out when trying to watch a movie.
Luckily, I always bring my own bath towel as the ones provided were very stiff, scratchy, and thin. Buying just a few nice towels would be a nice touch. 👌
PROS ~
Check-in and out were really simple, flexible, and convenient.
Glenn was very responsive before arrival. And friendly when we met and spoke again prior to our departure. (We didn't interact with him much during our stay).
There were previous complaints about the water pressure in the upstairs shower. Perhaps it had been resolved, as I had no issue with it. I thought it was great, in fact.
LOCATION! The property is off the "party" path which was awesome. It was essentially a very pleasant mile walk to Bourbon Street and the other surrounding areas. While my aged 75 years father walked a bit slower than me and my husband, he enjoyed the nightly walks to Bourbon. After the first two days, the Uber costs were stacking up and we decided to try the walk instead ... jackpot! We discovered a really good Thai restaurant (Budsi's Thai Place) a block in one direction and an awesome breakfast spot (The Ruby Slipper) a block in the other direction. For both, the food was delicious, the service was exceptional, the prices were fair, and the walk there was great exercise to earn and burn the great meals we had there. 😉 We visited both places multiple times. DON'T MISS THESE GEMS!! To note, we also walked to the French Quarter and Jackson Square. A bit of a walk but doable and pleasant to boot. It was cool to see the neighborhoods.
Overall, this residence wasn't bad. You're now prepared to enjoy your stay here

Could be nice - if not flea-infested, cleaner, better stocked & maintained

Great Location, Upstairs Needs TLC
We loved the location and we did feel safe in the area. The pictures don’t do the bottom floor justice. It was amazing! The master bedroom and bath were awesome. Large ceilings and a great place to gather.
The upper floor is a bit uncomfortable. The bed in the loft had a broken middle support. The shower had very low water pressure.
We had some AC issues when we arrived but Glen took care of it quickly.
Overall, a great stay!

Glenn was wonderful and we had an great stay in New Orleans. The property was very clean and we enjoyed sitting outside during the warm weather. Typical to the Marigny, the street can be a little noisy late at night on the weekends.

Faubourg Marigny - Glenn D, Recommended
Accommodations were clean, and comfortable. Mr. Glenn was a great host, and the location was great. The trolley at the closest stop was not operational during our stay, but everything that we wanted or needed was within walking distance. Would certainly book this listing again.

Very nice space and great location
The spot is very nice with one master bedroom downstairs with a nice bathroom and a second bedroom upstairs with two beds and then an extra bed in the loft space and a bathroom up there. Kitchen is modern and nice and the living room is comfortable. There is a nice yard to sit outside as well and it is very secure feeling. Of course getting out is why I go to New Orleans, and this is a great place for this. There are fun and interesting places nearby, great breakfast places, bakeries, cool bars and dive bars all a short walk away. It is a very quick walk to Frenchman Street and then over to the Quarter. The other direction you get the Arts district and the Bywater. We walked and biked almost everywhere and rarely used our car, which was parked in the gated and secure yard. We had an awesome vacation. Our host Glenn was great and easy to communicate with.

Just outside the French Quarter
I chose this property, in part, due to easy access to the street car line. Same hasn’t been in operation for several years, but the property is still listed as “on street car line”. Being over 60, excessive walking is no longer easy or pleasurable.

Not a brand new condo (hey you're in NOLA) but very comfortable.

Very pleased
Very pleased with our visit to NOLA. Glenn is a great host and the property was very comfortable. We had more amenities than we actually used. It is a short walk to Bourbon Street and even though one of our UBER drivers said we were in the hood we, two senior ladies, felt very comfortable and the local were very pleasant and helpful.

Authentic French Quarter Feel
We enjoyed our stay very much. Plenty of room to spread out yet cozy and comfortable. It was a pleasure to stay in a place with so much character. The home is conveniently located within walking access to many of the local sites. The home owner was very nice, helpful and knowledgeable about the area. We'll be back for our next trip!

Great Location for the French Quarter
The property is located very near the French Quarter and within easy walking distance to Frenchman Street. Also there is a grocery store within about 4 blocks of the property. Glenn was very accommodating. We thought we would have trouble getting to the property because of a impending storm in Minneapolis which would have delayed our ability to arrive in New Orleans on the date scheduled. Glenn was very willing to work with us to accommodate our delay. Fortunately we were able to get through Minneapolis before the storm hit. The property is in the older section of New Orleans and the circular stairway to the second floor is somewhat challenging for getting suitcases to the second floor. Would be a particular problem for people with back or knee problems. Other than that, we had a great time.

Girls Trip
Glenn's house was perfect for the 5 of us. Glenn was very friendly in messages and phone calls. We didn't have a change to meet him but he was very easy to reach and he answered any question we had before we arrived.
Location was great! 1 mile 20 minute walk to Bourbon Street and everyplace around Bourbon Street. 7 mile walk to St. Roch Market, which is a great eatery. Ruby Slipper Cafe is a 4 mile walk, we had breakfast there and it was good. 15 minute walk to Frenchmen's Alley.
Neighbors were very friendly and spoke to us as we were out walking. Even though a couple of our Uber drives said we were out in the hood. It never felt like it was a bad area.
Thanks Glenn for a letting us stay at our house.

On a scale of 1-10, this place was a 10
This place was such a good pick. It was in the middle of everything. It was within walking distance to the French quarters and bourbon street. Glenn was very friendly and flexible. If I ever come back to New Orleans, I will definitely be booking this place again.

Great location!
The location is fantastic! Walk across the street to catch the street car, and the bus stop is only about 200 feet from the house. A well stocked grocery store called Robert is a couple blocks away (located on St. Claude and Elysian Field). They have beer, groceries, and a very nice deli section. We bought sushi and rotisserie chicken from there to eat at the house. Both were delicious and affordable. It was a nice option since we were there for a full week and get tired of eating out and the expense of it.
The price for the place is really good considering the location. With the reduced rental expense, the furnishings are older, stained a bit and worn. The owner does not supply salt, pepper, sugar, oil, coffee, etc. If it's there, it is because somebody else left it. We were okay with that, but just want to leave it in the review so you know to bring it or buy it.
It was nice having a cocktail in the afternoon sitting on the porch overlooking the green garden area. Very relaxing after a day of wandering through the crowds of NOLA.
Frenchmen Street is a 10-15 minute walk from the house and Bourbon Street is about a 10-20 minute walk to get to the restaurants.
Glenn was nice enough to let us stay at the house until 4:30pm for our 7pm flight, since it was not rented right away. We appreciated that so much!! Richard works around the grounds and lives on site and is a wonderful young man with a great sense of humor.
To sum it up, the place looks a little run down, but considering the rates and location and it is very comfortable, we will definitely stay here again!

Perfect Girls Trip
my girls and I arrived a day after Mardi Gras so it was calmer but still A TON to do and be a part of. Glen was extremely informative, friendly, and helpful to make sure that our stay was nothing short of perfect. it is gated on the outside and you have keys to your apartment so we always felt safe. The location is ideal because it’s just far away enough from the hustle and bustle of bourbon, but just close enough to be within a good distance of everything you need to reach so uber’s are cheap. The apartment itself was very spacious with a fully equipped kitchen, heaters in case it got chilly, and even had a washer and dryer. if the spiral staircase intimidates you, it’s okay. It was actually not that bad and not as hard as it seems to get up. Upstairs there is a full bathroom a lot area with a double bed and another room with two double beds. The beds and pillows were heavenly. Perfect for travel groups and families. whenever we had questions Glen was always quick to answer through text or phone. I miss it already. Can’t wait to go back!!

Place could use some updating, Glenn was very nice.
The place could use some updating and repairs (paint, electrical).
The spiral stairs were a little dangerous for us mature folks.
Location was very good, close to French quarter (within walking distance).

Fun! Fun! Fun!
We had a great stay. Great location and the owner was very helpful in suggestions for things to do and see as well as places to stay! The spiral staircase is a little noisy, but not a deal breaker. It was a short walk to all you want to see and far enough away to not be too loud and crazy!
