About this house rental
Located in Lake Placid, this lovely house for $450 per night is a great choice for your next break. Great family home located in the village of Lake Placid. Perfect for family or friend reunions, ski vacations, hiking trips or holiday getaways. Spacious, filled with antiques and fully-equipped. Just a block from Main Street and its numerous shops, attractions and restaurants. Walking distance to local public beach on Mirror Lake. Free shuttle bus to Whiteface Mountain 100 yards from house. Within easy walking distance to Olympic Center and ice rinks. 100-year old house with a lot of charm and comfort. NOTICE: Please remember that this is our family home and not a "party house". We respectfully ask all groups looking for such a rental to look for another property. Our neighbors' lives should not be disrupted by our guests' noise or activities. Also, this house is 110 years old so we strictly limit the number of guests to 10 (12 in summer). Please check bed arrangements on listing to make sure they will meet your needs. Ironman week rates are $750 per night with a 7-night minimum. 70.3 Ironman $550 per night with 3-night minimum. This old house was awesome! It was very spacious and comfortable. The location was perfect with a very short walk to the village and lake. Easy check in and check out. Would definitely recommend it!

The house is very nice, and the location couldn’t be better. Yes it’s old, with some things that are different from today’s standards, like separate hot and cold faucets in the bathroom sinks. But that’s also a part of it’s charm. Minor criticisms are that the parking is very tight for three cars, and a couple of instructions didn’t match. For instance, garbage bags weren’t where the instructions said they were. After spending some time looking everywhere twice I gave up only to find them at the bottom of the garbage can. But minor. I’d definitely stay there again. The owner was very nice and very accommodating.

This charming old house built in the early 1900s has been a family property for many decades. We appreciated the history, the many antiques, and the very convenient location to downtown. All 4 of us were comfortable. The hosts were very helpful with local suggestions and they responded quickly to our needs. A great find in Lake Placid!

The whole family enjoyed this well kept 1908 house. It was well kept and enjoyed several indoor and outdoor areas for us to relax. It’s location was very conveniently located on the north side of town making walking around the lake and into town very easy. We would look forward to staying at the house again!

We loved this unique family home with a fully stocked kitchen and barware for all our cooking and entertaining needs. AC units in all the bedrooms for sleeping comfort and a beautiful big porch and yard enclosed by cedar bushes!

We had a very positive experience with this home. Perfection
The history and love of this home comes exploding through. It was so charming, lovely, and welcoming for our family to stay in. The location made walking to/from Main St. a breeze and the communication with the owners was even easier. A pleasant interaction, a pleasant stay, and wonderful memories made. Will be back.

Gorgeous old house
This house is gorgeous! We just loved being in an older house with so many rooms! :) More than enough bathrooms, showers, bedding, towels...all of that for our entire party. The house was spotless. Check in instructions and communication with the owners was great. My family is actually now talking about renting this out for a family weekend after hearing about it. Highly recommend!

With a group of 11 this house was perfect for our ski weekend. Everyone enjoyed being able to walk into town and there was plenty of space for all. The owners were so nice and accommodating making check in and check out a breeze! We will be back!

Wonderful location in winter wonderland
Our extended family of seven, plus our dog, just enjoyed a wonderful Christmas holiday in the Huttlinger House. The four bedrooms on the second floor and the two bedrooms in the attic gave everyone ample room. Also, thanks to the wonderful radiators, the house stayed warm and comfortable, even as the temperature dropped to -17 F. We are a family that loves its fireplaces, and we kept the large fireplace in the living room hard at work. We were so grateful for the generous supply of firewood that got us through a very cold week. The house is situated so that the sun and dining rooms provide beautiful views down the street to Mirror Lake, and it's an easy walk to town. Thank you to Tierney and John for making our stay so comfortable and for hauling away even the Christmas tree after our visit!

Fantastic location steps from Main Street - comfortable historical home with lots of room to relax - all 10 of us easily around the dining room table and seated around the fireplace. 4 very generous bedrooms on 2nd floor. Kitchen is very well equipped. Owner was very responsive to minor issue we had. Great value and comfort for a crowd.

Great for family gatherings...
We enjoyed our weekend at the Huttlinger house. We had 5 kids ages 8 and under and 1 infant, plus 7 adults. We all fit beautifully and had plenty of spaces to spread out, play games, read, and build with legos. A perfect location right near the center of town with a peaceful walk around Mirror Lake helping us start our days. Thanks for a wonderful weekend with family!

An excellent choice close to Main St

A group of us chose the Huttlinger House as 'base camp' for a weekend of hiking in the high peaks. The charm and feel of an older home is evident the moment you walk in. The kitchen is large and well equipped and there are multiple bedrooms and bathrooms to accommodate the group. Main St. Lake Placid restaurants and shopping are only a few steps away, as are the water sports available on Mirror Lake. Parking can get crowded on Main St., so the ability to easily walk was a great advantage.
The owners are very responsive (email/text) and were genuinely motivated to provide an enjoyable stay.
The large front porch and the yard provided more than enough space for our entire group to enjoy time together.
As long as the group for annual trip doesn't get too big, there is no doubt we'd look to Huttlinger House first for our rental needs.

Great for a large or extended family.
We were a group of 8 (parents, grandparents, and 4 kids), and this house was perfect. Plenty of room for everyone, and well-equipped for a big gang. Definitely a "heritage" house with the expected creaky floors, leaky pipes, and sticky windows. Mind you, comfier beds would have been nice... That being said, the location is unbeatable and the house is truly charming. We would recommend this property.

We enjoyed our stay at Huttlinger House for our family Thanksgiving. Great location for shopping and enjoying Mirror Lake. House was large enough to accommodate 5 families. Would definitely recommend anyone with a large family gathering to stay here. It was a fun weekend had by all.

Great home with historic character that accommodated our two families. Easy to find with an ideal location makes walking into Lake Placid a breeze. Plenty of room to relax, read and cook in a very well maintained and clean home. The owners were very accessible and helpful in coordinating our stay.

This house had an old historic charm that was perfect for our group of 4 families with beds to spare. It was the perfect location to access local restaurants, shopping, and even the Olympic Center! At night we comfortably sat around the spacious dining room table and also enjoyed each other's company in the cozy atmosphere of the living room sitting by a warm, inviting fireplace. The owners were very friendly and accommodating. I would highly recommend this rental to any group for any event that takes you to Lake Placid!
