About this house rental

Located in Dollar Point, this lovely house for $225 per night is a great choice for your next trip. *Tahoe is a beautiful and fun place to visit. Occasionally this area can be affected by extreme weather events. While we never want things like icy roads, road closures, or wildfire smoke to impact our guests negatively, it can happen. We ask travelers to plan their vacation appropriately for the rural mountain climate and encourage guests to research all travel insurance options, as we cannot refund things outside our control. Placer County, CA Short-Term Rental Permit STR License No. STR23-7876 Our compact four-bedroom and 3 bathroom townhome is located in a beautifully maintained complex of Lake Forest Glen just a short distance from downtown Tahoe City. The condo complex includes an adult swimming pool with a year-round hot tub and sauna, a family pool with a tot lot, four tennis courts, and three pickleball courts. Lake Forest Glen is located on the Lake Tahoe side of the main road and is within walking distance to Skylandia or Lake Forest Beach. The Lake Forest public boat ramp is less than 1 mile from our front door. You can bike or walk into town on the paved path around the corner from our private cul de sac. Great hiking is abundant in and around Tahoe City and can be found as close as the meadow in our backyard or a short drive to the west shore, Palisades, or Donner Pass. For winter enthusiasts you are located within a 15 to 30-minute drive from four major ski resorts including Palisades Tahoe, Alpine Meadows, Homewood, and Northstar. Tahoe XC Center is located less than a mile, up the road or you can cross-country ski in the meadow right out our back door. Our lovely updated condo includes four bedrooms decorated in a cabin/cottage style. The primary bedroom has a queen-size bed, an en-suite bathroom with a shower, and a beautiful meadow view. The second guest room also has a queen bed and shares the main hall bathroom (which includes a shower ) with the third bedroom. The 'cowboy bunk room' has a double mattress bottom bunk and a twin-size top bunk. The fourth bedroom is on the main level and has two twin beds. There is a full bath with a shower on the main level. All of the upstairs bedrooms have streaming TV. The fourth bedroom creates the perfect space for any guests who prefer to feel separated from the rest of the group or do not want to climb the stairs. The main living area has a beautifully updated galley kitchen. The kitchen includes a ten-foot-long granite dining bar, a dishwasher, and a stacked washer and dryer. The kitchen is outfitted with small appliances, pots and pans, and utensils that a chef would need. There is no indoor dining space, other than the bar and around the coffee table. During the summer months, you can enjoy meals at the large outdoor table on our spacious deck overlooking the meadow. Out the back door, is a large deck with a table that seats six, as well as other seating and a bench that runs the length of the deck. We also have a gas grill that can be used year-round. Tahoe City is a wonderful, quaint, small-town community. It is the only 'walking' town around the entire lake. Although our little town is less than a mile long, this town has everything a visitor needs. Besides the two grocery stores, a CVS, and a post office for convenience, there are recreational and ski shops for all your activity needs. You will find ski and snowboard rentals, ski clothing, bike, kayak, and paddleboard stores. There is a gym that faces out over the lake and several places to drop in on a yoga class, even right on the lake with a rented paddleboard! Others may be glad to find great clothing boutiques, art galleries, jewelry stores, and T-shirt/souvenir shops. There are two interesting museums in town and the historic Fanny Bridge to view the dam releasing lake water into the Truckee River. You will find several great pubs and restaurants located along our main street and on the lakefront around the Tahoe City Marina and Yacht Club. Every Sunday afternoon in the summer, you will hear the sounds of live music coming from the lakefront at the free concert on Commons Beach. There is always a fun crowd of local families mixed with visiting tourists and children of all ages. All are enjoying light fare from local vendors, and picnics brought from home. If you are not a skier or hiker you still will find endless fun things to do. Sightseeing is abundant in Tahoe City and the entire magnificent Lake Tahoe area!

We came up for a weekend of snowboarding at Squaw Valley. Very nice clean place. Comfortable with nearby shopping and food. Had a great time.

Location is fantastic (Dollar Point! Tahoe City!), and the owner was easy to reach and easy to communicate with. The kitchen is extremely well-appointed! In some other regards, however, the unit is showing its age. The wall paint is scraped and scuffed, the furniture is getting old, and the interior lighting is very limited, giving the unit a dark feel that is nothing like the photos. The mattresses and bedding, in particular, appear to be very old. This is clearly a well-loved AND well-used family home, and that may suit your needs beautifully. (For example, we LOVED that some food staples are left from visitor to visitor, rather than being stripped out to leave a sterile kitchen.) But a friend of ours stayed in a nearby unit that has seen a remodel since its original construction, and the difference was dramatic. One minor note: in summertime, this is a beach place. While the web description says beach towels are not provided, the owner's emailed instructions tell you explicitly how to separate and care for the unit's beach towels. It turns out the web description is the accurate one (no towels), and the owner's justification for this (that prior visitors trashed them) was disappointing--isn't that the reason for a security deposit? Renting out a Tahoe beach place, while expecting visitors either to travel with beach towels, or go buy them at the grocery store, struck us as unrealistic.

Wonderful winter wonderland! Back door opened to a clear meadow of snow for endless play by the kids! So nice to be able to send them out in their gear and watch from the living room window! Kitchen had everything we could ever want. Bedrooms were plenty big with very comfy beds. Kids room was so great! Especially the tv in each room with streaming channels according to my 7 and 9 year old nieces! So close to every winter activity too. 2 minutes from the lake, town, snow parks, movies, and shopping. Would definitely book this condo again! Owner was so kind and quick to respond with any questions I had. Thanks for a great holiday! Amy, Santa Rosa, Ca

The condo was in a great location, walking distance from the lake and close to Tahoe City. There's a great bakery just a few minutes walk away. The condo was comfortable and clean, with the exception of the carpets which were a bit stained in some areas and a funny smell in the master bedroom and bathroom. The kitchen was well-stocked.

Tricia's condo in Lake Forest Glen is a 4-bedroom that comfortably housed my husband and I, our adult son and daughter and their under 4-, 3- year old and 10 month old for 8 days. We love the location and condo facilities: family pool, quiet pool and hot tub, small playground, and plenty of space outdoors for bike riding in the complex. The home itself is in a quiet area near the entry of the complex. The view of a meadow off the back deck was a family favorite. The kitchen was well stocked with pans, pots, utensils and plates, etc. Beds were comfortable and bedding was fine. Two issues for our family had included: the back deck had boards and nails lifting up and were a bit treacherous on bare feet. The area rug in the living room was in need of a deep cleaning. Walking with bare feet left feet blackened. The stair carpet was also in need of a good cleaning. We do love this condo complex for our annual family trip to Tahoe. We liked the four bedroom floor plan, and hope to find one for sale in the complex in the future.

We rented this condo for the week to attend our daughter’s wedding. The condo was perfect. The kitchen is fully stocked with spices and condiments, so you don’t need to bring your own. We only cooked 2 dinners in, but we enjoyed eating out on the deck overlooking the meadow. It was so peaceful and relaxing. One evening we saw a baby bear, but he ignored us. We were able to walk to the closest beach and we drove to others. Floating down the Truckee was awesome and I’m not a lover of water activities. The beds were very comfortable. I only have one criticism and that is that the carpet could use a cleaning, especially in the high traffic areas. Otherwise, everything was perfect. The owners are wonderful. Tricia and I shared wedding pictures.

My family and I stayed at this lovely condo, and it was just perfect! There was a bedroom and bathroom on the first floor by the kitchen and living room. Nice comfy fireplace. 3 bedrooms and 2 baths on the second floor. Lots of room and comfy beds for the most part. Only thing was that all the beds in the place were full beds, not queens which we didn't expect but for the weekend it wasn't a big deal. Kitchen was well stocked with basically anything you would need to make meals. It has a nice little deck with a grill. The best part was right in front of the deck is a huge open space, which was awesome because it was really easy to play in the snow. And the owner was very communicative, which I really appreciated. Instructions were very clear and easy. Perfect place, we really enjoyed it!

This place was perfect for our family. Great location to get around in Tahoe and walking distance to the Sugar Pine Cakery (great bakery!) It was nicely furnished; kitchen was more than fully stocked. For us, having a first floor bedroom (so my mom didn't need to go up any stairs) was a huge plus. It really felt like a home away from home. The view out to the meadow was peaceful; we also walked to the lake (about 10 min) everyday. I would definitely stay here again!
