Welcome to the Bear's Den, your private, two bedroom suite, awaiting those seeking to enjoy the wonders of Jasper National Park. Located in the town of Jasper. Your private, tastefully decorated, bright and sunny suite is in the lower level of our newly renovated, historical log house and offers a lovely mountain view. The log theme decor ensures a cozy and relaxed atmosphere. The suite is designed with your comfort in mind and offers everything a home away from home should have. It is an ideal set up for two couples or a family of four travelling together, providing each with their own private bedrooms and bathrooms. We are centrally located in the town of Jasper and are just a five minute walk from the train station, cafes, shops and restaurants. You will be able to leave your car parked at home while exploring the town as well as some of the local trails. Your suite has two bedrooms, bedroom number one has a full size en suite bathroom with it's own bathtub/shower. It also features a queen size log bed, high definition cable TV, PVR, Netflix, and DVDs. Bedroom number two, located off the common living room also has a queen size log bed and high definition cable TV. The fully equipped kitchen includes a full size cooking range, fridge, microwave and seating for four persons. The living room features comfortable seating, high definition cable TV, PVR, Netflix , DVDs and stereo. The main bathroom is generous in size and has a deep, relaxing soaker bathtub/shower. The suite also has a self-contained washer, dryer and iron for guests' laundry needs and convenience. Laundry detergent is provided. All linens/towels/ beach towels and soaps are also provided. Lydia & Gerry are amazing hosts!! All those little things you might have forgotten , they've taken care of. Pleasantly surprised at all the little extras! They truly have thought of their guests. Immaculate! What a great place. Jasper NP and Banff NP have been on my bucket list for years. We stayed in Jasper for a week and throughly enjoyed it. What a beautiful town-great places to eat, shop, and tour. Everyone we met was so friendly. Our rental was perfect-well equipped, spotless, walking distance to everything. We were sorry to miss the owners, but Christina took very good of all our needs. We were very sad to leave such a beautiful place!!

All I can say is the Bearâs Den is the BEST! We stayed for 5 nights and wished we had stayed a few more nights. The rooms are absolutely charming and great for relaxation after a day of exploring and hiking. Everything you need to make meals is right at hand, from pots and pans, spices, etc. Comfortable bed and great shower. Easy walk into Town surrounded by beauty. Great selection of restaurants and grocery store for easy pick up of whatever you need to cook a few meals. Great location for access to hikes or to just drive and take in the wildlife. Ok, I used the word Great a lot but The Bearâs Den is that and more. Thanks for a great stay.

We couldn't have picked a better place. The house was immaculate. During the whole stay, the ladies kept remarking how clean the house was. There was absolutely nothing to complain about. Christina always made sure we had everything we needed to make the stay more enjoyable. We knew that when we moved to our second Vrbo stay, we would find ourselves comparing it to this house. As expected, it was nice but it didn't compare to Gerry and Lydia's property. To say this was a great place to stay would be an understatement. Thank you Gerry and Lydia for making our 50th anniversary celebration even more memorable.

If there are nicer hosts anywhere, I havenât met them. Gerry and Lydia have a wonderful little apartment located in the basement of their home with everything you could imagine wanting, from laundry soap for the washer to cans of soda in the fridge. You could move in and live there without needing a thing. We also appreciated the coolness of the basement in the summer heat. The best part, though, wasnât the apartment, it was the âbear showâ we had in the backyard. Gerry texted us to come up to see a young black bear just munching away up in a choke cherry tree.
We also appreciated the location, it was so nice to be able to walk to the grocery and restaurants. Truly a great stay in a beautiful town.

Really enjoyed my stay at The Bears Den. Clean, comfortable, and spacious. Outstanding location, quiet but only a block from downtown. Outstanding hosts that have really put a lot of thought into the renters needs. Lots of little extras including an outstanding movie collection, bear spray, shopping bags, tea and coffee selection, and everything you could think of in regards to bathroom supplies and kitchen supplies. Hosts are friendly and helpful and really make you feel at home. I will definitely miss all this place had to offer.

We loved our time in Jasper. The owners have made a very welcoming environment. We travel a lot and have never found such a well stocked place. Owners were very helpful and friendly. It is a short walk to restaurants, shops and groceries. We would definitely stay here again and highly recommend it when you come to Jasper.

This cozy downstairs apartment was the perfect stay for our visit to Jasper. It was convenient to the national park and activities in the surrounding areas and within walking distance to restaurants and shopping. Our hosts, Gerry and Lydia, showed outstanding hospitality with communication, sightseeing advice, and providing personal items, and even weather and road conditions updates during an unexpected snowfall. We had a fantastic stay at Gerry and Lydia's place in Jasper. It is very comfortable, centraly located, and Gerry couldn't do enough for us, or be more helpful with suggestions. If we're ever back that way we would be sure to stay there again, and cannot recommend it enough to other travellers.

We had a great time in this property. The property is really clean and comfortable. We had everything we needed when staying in it. The location is also great. We were able to walk to the main road of Jasper, literally 2 blocks away. We really enjoyed that too. The manager Christina was very helpful and nice. We had no issues communicating with her for anything. Overall we had a very happy stay.

The power was intermittent in the entire town the first couple of days due to wildfires, but Gerry provided us with battery powered lanterns and candles, as well as offering us his grill to cook dinner. Central location that just minutes walk away from all the restaurant. Spacious lower level apartment with everything you need. They have tea, coffee, sodas, plenty of towels and toiletries. Definitely can accommodate a family with the 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. We cooked breakfast everyday and found the kitchen is well equipped. Washer and dryer to wash dirty clothes after hiking. You will always have 1 free parking spot either street parking or in their driveway.Host is extremely friendly. We were in Canada for 2 weeks and this was our favorite place. Highly recommended!

This was by far the best place we have stayed at on our vacation in the Rockies. All the comforts of home in this nice size basement suite. We would recommend this to anyone wanting a quiet location but an easy walk to town. The owners are also very friendly people and nice to talk to.

Gerry & Lydia made us so welcome. They did everything they could to ensure that we had a lovely vacation ⌠and we had! We appreciated their suggestions for sightseeing and hiking; their yellow folder proved to be an invaluable reference document for suggested walking trails and things to do.
Their suite was indeed a home-away-from-home. It was very comfortable and had a light and airy ambience thanks to the large windows and the dĂŠcor. It is so fully furnished and the full kitchen and multiple appliances, pots, pans, and utensils, etc. made cooking a viable alternative if a traveller didnât want to eat out. Also, the suite had everything a person might need, including bear spray, picnic cooler, computer wires, complete sound system, etc., etc.
We look forward to staying with Gerry and Lydia again. Obviously, we will have to plan well ahead because we realize that we are not the only ones who appreciate their accommodation and their hospitality!

The Bearâs Den was the perfect accommodation for our group (two couples). The kitchen amenities were excellent; living area spacious for visiting and bedrooms roomy and comfortable. Our hosts included many extra touches (sodas in the fridge, toiletries including an extra toothbrush should anyone have forgotten theirs, games, etc. This accommodation was spotless and fresh. We will definitely stay here again.
