Located in Rodanthe, this lovely house for $408 per night is a fantastic choice for your next trip. Rose Cottage is the ocean-front beach house your family will want to return to every year. Walk just 100 feet to wade in the Atlantic Ocean, or admire the magnificent view from a porch swing on the wrap-around deck. No check in required due to our keyless entry. The deck wraps around a great room on the main floor that includes plenty of comfortable seating, a fully-equipped kitchen, washer and dryer, and a dining table for six. An electric fireplace makes it cozy even for chilly seasons. Three upstairs bedrooms, one with a king size bed and two with queen beds, provide plenty of space for six people. All are spotlessly clean, and freshly-washed linens will be provided for each bed. The master bedroom has a connecting full bathroom, and there is a second full bath on the main level, but you may find your favorite place to clean up after a day on the sand is the outdoor shower. We've got all the modern entertainments: 4 TVs, a video library, book library, free WIFI, and games for the kids, but it's really all about the beach! Step off the deck onto the beach path and find any water sport you want to enjoy just steps away. Catch dinner and take it to our fish cleaning station under the house to get it ready for the kitchen or the charcoal grill. The HVAC will shut off if doors or windows are left open to keep the compressor from freezing up resulting in damage to the ac system. Lovely cottage, especially for just two people and a dog. Easy beach access, well-equipped kitchen, cozy vibe. Owners were responsive and friendly when we had a couple of questions. Very pleased overall and will likely be back!

Rose cottage was much nicer than I anticipated according to the pics in website . The view to the ocean was limited due to home in front of it, however there was a window that witnessed the sunrise every am that we greatly appreciated . The owners have binders prepared with wonderful information on the island and of any concerns we would have had. The neighborhood was quiet and friendly. I especially love the fact that everything was dog friendly:) it was our first experience on the beach with our four legged babies!! We will come back for sure and I would recommend to friends and family. thank you so much for sharing your home with us for our first family reunion in OBX!!

Very home feeling place… we had a welcome package , owner was very informative… clean… up to date with amenities…. Highly recommend the stay…. The path to the beach just needs a little trimming but other than that was very good

We enjoyed our stay at Rose Cottage! It had everything we needed. The only thing we didn’t use was the grill. It’s location in the sea grass made us nervous to use it especially with the wind. Our favorite spot was the front deck! The view was beautiful! There is a house to the left of your view, but where the chairs and benches are you can just focus on the ocean. The trail to the beach is private but you need bug spray. We walked the beach every day!

Quaint little Oceanside escape
We booked this house at the last possible minute for a spur of the moment getaway and I am so, so glad we did. The porch swing, as noted by many other reviewers, was the best part of the home - a gorgeous view through the dunes out to the ocean. My poor husband ended up having to work a portion of the trip, but thankfully the porch and ocean breeze made it a lot more pleasant. The house was in great shape - I truly think the pictures undersell it!

LOVELY BEACH COTTAGE
THIS LOVELY BEACH COTTAGE WAS IN THE PERFECT LOCATION. IT WAS OCEAN FRONT BUT PRIVATE. WE LOVED THE PRIVATE PATH TO THE BEACH. THIS COTTAGE WAS NICELY DECORATED. WE HAD PERFECT WEATHER DURING OUR STAY SO OUT TWO DOGS ENJOYED TWO VERY LONG WALKS IN THE MORNING AND IN THE EVENING. WE LOVED THE PORCH SWING AND DRINKING COFFEE WHILE WATCHING THE WAVES EVERY MORNING. THANK YOU BEVERLY AND FRANK FOR PROVIDING A VERY CLEAN AND NICELY DECORATED COTTAGE. IT WAS RESTORATIVE AND PEACEFUL. WE WILL DEFINITLY BE BACK.

Love the charm and location of this home. Can't get much closer to the ocean than this and has a private path. We prepared Thanksgiving dinner for 4 and the kitchen provided all necessary dishes and accessories. All kitchen appliances worked. Bedrooms were comfortable. The only small issue we had was the wifi password in our email was incorrect but found the correct one quickly posted on the fridge. Also trash was not picked up, not sure why? Seemed like it was on the other side of the road. But overall, very pleased with our stay and would definitely like to stay here again.

Great beach week
Rose Cottage was a great place for our family vacation. The house was clean, comfortable and well-stocked. It was practically on the beach with a beautiful view from the porch. The location was walking distance to basic supplies, the fishing pier and kayak rentals, and not a long drive to Nags Head or Hatteras. We especially appreciated that sheets and towels were provided, as well as plenty of beach chairs and umbrellas, and basic starter items like TP and paper towels. We would love to come back here again!

The house is very cute. We had an issue with the sheets not being changed and the bedspreads having sand on them but it was taken care of the next day. We did however did not find a working grill as was listed and did get maintenance to come an clean the propane grill for our use. The beach is great and there is a private walk from the house to the beach although as I arrived three adults came walking down the private walk. There is a sign at the front of the house but a sign at the end of the path should be placed. The swing on the front porch was awesome! Weather was good and all in all a restful time.

My husband and I loved our stay at Rose Cottage. The view from the front porch is amazing. We enjoyed our morning coffee on the front porch from the porch swing or the high backed chairs. Everything that you can think of is already at the cottage. The hosts have thought of it all. Beach umbrella, Beach chairs? They have them downstairs. Do want to whip up some cookies? They have all of the tools that you would need from the mixer to the sheet pans! Rose Cottage is absolutely charming from the decor to the private beach path. We could not have picked a better place to stay!We can’t wait to go back!

Spring Break
Our family enjoyed the week at Rose Cottage! It was very clean and comfortable. I was able to prepare several meals because the kitchen is so well stocked. The internet is fast and reliable if you need to work. We loved using the electric fireplace in the evenings when the temperature dropped. Checking out was so easy, unlike other places that give you a checklist of tasks upon leaving. I look forward to booking again at Rose Cottage.

PERFECT GETAWAY
The Rose Cottage was a perfect getaway for us. We loved being at the beach with a private walkway to the beach. The house was clean, inviting, and very crozy. The rooms were decorated nicely. The kitchen was stock with everyting you need. We loved hearing the ocean and watching the dolphins and birds. The front porch was a great place to have your cooffee. We liked that the back porch was closed off, to keep our dogs from running off! The views from the porches were wonderful. We would definitely rent The Rose Cottage again. The cottage has motion lights at night, very pretty and easy to get around when letting the dogs out for our evening walk. The sand dunes and the walks on the beach made special memories !

Quiet & peaceful getaway!
We visited Rodanthe for an off-season getaway in November & rented Rose Cottage for a week. After researching vacation homes for weeks, we picked this one for its views and size. It was my husband and I along with our small dog Mozzie. The cottage is on a quiet street and has various ocean views from the decks as well as through the windows inside. It was very clean. We used the washer, dryer, dishwasher, stove and oven with no issues. The furniture was comfortable and the deck was perfect for sitting outside & relaxing. We used the SMART TV in the living room for Netflix. The internet was fast as we both worked on our laptops while there. There was a power outage and cell phone outage while there on the entire island one evening but it only lasted 1.5 hours and we felt safe. The only few issues we had were killing a few ants near the kitchen sink (understandable by the beach) and some of the floor moldings in the upstairs bathroom and bedroom entryway doors were loose so we did trip a couple of times. The outside hose is nice for keeping sand out of the house. The kitchen is so well stocked with dishes & cookware, I couldn’t believe it!! We frequented Waves Deli for sandwiches, Muffins & Scones in Avon for coffee and Orange Blossom in Buxton for cinnamon rolls - they were amazing! We also used the charcoal grill (I would recommend maintaining the greenery around that better because it’s very high and a fire hazard) which made delish burgers and seafood (bring your own charcoal). Overall amazing stay and we would definitely consider returning in the future!

Serenity means calm & peaceful, just what you feel when you walk in the door of this lovely cottage. It was clean, beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well stocked with everything you need. Going to sleep and waking up to the sounds of the ocean waves, so relaxing. Enjoyed watching the sunrise with our coffee on the porch swing.
Would recommend visiting the Wrights Brother Museum, take a car ferry to Ocracoke Island and have lunch at “Smacnalley’s, outside sitting. Visit the cute shops and lighthouse. Other restaurants we recommend are Watermans Bar & Grill, Waves Deli (great sandwiches) in Rodanthe. The Saltbox in Kill Devil, Lunch at O’Neals Sea-Harvest in Wanchese Harbor. Do not miss trying the “Apple Uglies” at the Orange Blossom Bakery in Buxton. If you want a great breakfast try “Stack’em High Pancake House and So Forth on Route 158.
All in all we had the best 2 weeks vacation and already looking forward to our stay here next year. Our thanks to Frank and Beverly for sharing their lovely cottage.❤️

Adventure in OBX
The Rose Cottage is a beautiful, peaceful home in Rodanthe, NC. We love visiting OBX and have many times however, this visit was very different with “astronomical” high tides, high winds, flooding and extreme sand movement. Due to the weather conditions we were unable to leave the cottage for 4 days. Thankfully, Rose Cottage is comfortable for lounging Dan relaxing even when the outdoors is not. The kitchen was well stocked and it was easy to prepare several meals a day for the days were we unable to leave. The only “complaint” we had was communication with the management company for the property. Every time we tried to contact their office we received a recording that stated it was closed however, we called during what I would expect to be normal business hours. We left messages that were not returned. Communication with the owners was great! There were situations created by the weather conditions that when we unable to reach the property managers that the owners were helpful and responsive. I hated to bother the owners, they have a property manager for a reason but they never made me feel as those I was bothering them and they did everything they could when we needed assistance.
The beach access is great although, our second day there the high tides wiped away so much beach that at the end of the beach walkway was 3-4 foot straight drop off. Once the sand is moved and the beach repaired the beach access will be perfect. The porches are great and when the winds were tolerable we spent time relaxing on them. We didn’t mind having neighbors that faces the porches but if you do that is something that you may want to take into consideration as there are neighboring houses and the porches are not private. We like neighbors and meeting new people so it wasn’t a big deal to us.
One suggestion I would make is to add a reference or informational notebook to Rose Cottage with details for guests. We are so used to there being something like that in rentals that we looked for it for several days. Just include what seem like simple things, when is trash pickup?, how does the electronic door lock work?, is there a specific contact at the property managers?, etc.
We will likely be back to Rose Cottage because OBX is our favorite vacation spot and the cottage is conveniently located in Rodanthe but we will definitely stay far away from hurricane season next time.

The location was great. However we did experience alot of roaches in the home. There some pans as well as dishes that were dirty and had bugs in them. There was a small white fry pan that was black from being burnt and just needs to be trashed. There were no instructions as to how to work the television. The upstairs air conditioning did not work. Charmed By Rose Cottage
As lovely as described by others before us. From the ocean views to the sound of the waves-and the comfortable and pretty spaces and decor within, Rose Cottage felt special from the moment we turned into the driveway. Every detail of your stay has been anticipated and thoughtfully provided for. Rodanthe has something for everyone in an active family-surfing, running, biking, skate park, yoga on the beach. Dogs loved their morning and evening beach swims. Oldest son loved the fishing from the piers in the area and inland with sea kayaks. Younger son loved the surfing and skating community who embraced an eager beginner with well planned lessons and contacts. Husband loved the porch swing and views. I loved the beautiful setting and wonderful light for painting and photography. Took our family picture on the dune path to the beach amongst the sea oats and with the ocean in the background. Plentiful stores and restaurants a world away, yet an easy drive north or south. Plenty of great local places right in Rodanthe proper. Rose Cottage casts its spell and leaves you wanting to stay longer.
