About this cottage rental
This freshly remodeled semi-attached cottage features a beautiful garden setting in the desirable Strawberry section of Mill Valley. The fully furnished and equipped property borders open space - deer are sighted almost daily! It's quiet and peaceful yet only 6 minutes from the Golden Gate Bridge and San Francisco! Easy parking and quick access to the coast, Mount Tamalpais, Muir Woods, Stinson Beach, and the wine country further north. The bus stop and shopping center is a 5 minute walk. Ideal for up to two Bay Area vacationers, friends visiting the area, or house-hunters. We also have lots of 'newbie' grandparents! No worries, this cottage is upscale, not 'funky.' No stairs, steps or narrow mountain roads to contend with either! Please call about availability since we occasionally neglect the calendar function. 'This is a very comfortable, quiet, well equipped cottage with helpful and accommodating owners. The location and freeway access are ideal. We will stay there again next time we are in Marin.' I loved my time here. The house is in a quiet neighborhood, the host was responsive and nice to deal with, and the home was fully equipped. I would stay here again and recommend it without hesitation.

This was our first stop in California - moving from the East coast. Chuck and Eileen were hospitable and helpful in so many ways. Their home and garden space the result of decades of careful attention. Beautiful and relaxing space. Allowed the move into SF to be stress free and each night returning to little strawberry was a gift of peace and beauty. Would stay again :)

My wife and I found a home away from home for our visits with our son, his wife, and our two grandsons. The property is conveniently located for access to 101 and all the area sites. The cottage is well furnished, comfortable, and accesses a beautiful garden. Chuck and Eileen are wonderful hosts!

Perfect location in the Strawberry area of Mill Valley -- great jumping-off point for some of the most beautiful parts of the Bay Area. Easy parking (not the case in a lot of places!) Lovely hosts.

This Mill Valley cottage was a delightful place to stay in a quiet, lovely neighbourhood.. Quick access to Hwy 101 and to a paved walking/cycling trail to Sausalito and our daughter and family. Very roomy, nicely equipped and furnished, beautiful outdoor sitting area. . Great selection of good books and local info. Very welcoming and sccomodating hosts. We'll be back...

We visited with family in Corte Madera for Thanksgiving and this was the perfect spot for my husband and I to come home to each evening. Very comfortable and quiet. The owner could not have been more gracious and welcoming. Another wonderful VRBO experience for us.

We enjoyed a perfect stay! The Mill Valley Cottage was so charming, very clean, well equipped, and private. We so enjoyed Chuck's original artwork which adorned the walls...thanks for sharing your talent with us! The location couldn't be better, we were minutes to the grocery, restaurants, etc. And there is plenty of street parking, and in a walkable neighborhood. Perfectly situated, between San Fran, Muir Woods, and Napa!
Loved taking the ferry from Tiburon to SF one day! Thanks Chuck and Eileen for an amazing place to rest after each days adventure. Your cottage was exactly what we needed, can't wait to return!

This is a great property with very friendly, responsive, helpful owners! Cozy, quiet, fully equipped and overlooking a beautiful owner-tended garden with a bubbling fountain. Convenient location near shopping and restaurants, and an easy trip to city sights, downtown Mill Valley and wine country. Loved it!

It was the most enjoyable rental I have ever experienced. Convenient location, well equipped and spacious. Chuck and Eileen were perfect hosts. In fact, I have booked a return stay for next year.

This was the perfect location for a week of exploring! The home is in a quiet, beautiful neighborhood but just a couple minutes from highway 101. We were able to easily visit San Francisco and many of the magnificent areas north of the city. The apartment was perfect for my daughter and me. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen was small but well equipped, the living room had a comfortable couch and cable television, and the street parking was convenient and safe. My favorite part of the apartment was the view out the bedroom and living room windows of the spectacular gardens! Chuck and Eileen live on the property and were excellent hosts. Thank you for a vacation we will remember forever!

I can't say enough about Chuck and Eileen's hospitality while we were staying at their place in Mill Valley. It was very close to SF, but far enough away from the hectic city at the same time. Charming is understating this quaint place; and Chuck's artwork tops it all off. And the best of the best - hand picked plums from their backyard tree were to die for. If you are coming to San Francisco area for an extended stay, you will want to stay here.

This rental had everything we needed and felt like a home away from home. Chuck was the perfect host and shared hiking maps and ideas for places to hike. Perfect location to the freeway, Mt Tam, the Headlands, stores, and restaurants. We would stay here again if we were in the area again. Thank you

This is a lovely, peaceful retreat after a busy day of sightseeing. The garden is lovely and we had everything we needed. The location worked well for us, not too far from anything we wanted to see. We visited the city a couple of days, went to wine country and Muir Woods. I highly recommend this as a home base for seeing the area.

If Claude Monet was alive today, he would be at this cottage painting the gardens as they would appear to him during the different times of the day. The cottage is small and well appointed. Very comfortable for a weeks stay. We have rented from VRBO many many times and have been disappointed...but not this time. It is not centrally located ....but access to any part of the wine country is easy. Also, taking a ferry to San Fransisco from Larkspur is simple. Note, that it is easy to drive to the ferry, just minutes away, and buy a round trip ticket. Paying for parking is simple. Once you get aboard the ferry...tell the bar tender your license plate number as well as the number of the parking space. Pay your $2.00, get a receipt, and you are good to go.
We planned our day trips far in advance. However, the owners have many guides for you to use. Each winery has a special draw...many have fabulous gardens. You DO NOT have go though a wine tasting if you do not want to. One drink does it for me. Do not miss the Di Rosa Gallery for a unique art experience.
You’ll leave your heart in the SF as well as In the wine country.
