My second time in Tokyo and this place was just wow! Amazing price for such beautiful design, pristine clean, everything you need in the room. Plus there is a Japanese style bath on top that you can visit anytime. Overall great experience, will recommend it to my friends and would definitely get back.
Be aware that the rooms are tiny as a standard in Japan. If you travel alone the classic room will do, but if you are a couple I suggest booking a higher price room for the best experience.

Stunning hotel 15 minutes walk from central Shinjuku. Beautiful Sento facilities and amazing traditional breakfasts.

Inviting entrance. Friendly and helpful front staff. Clean room with snacks and tea. Housekeeping is excellent. Open-air hot spring (REAL hot spring water from Hakone) with partial view of Mt. Fuji in the morning and Shinjuku skyline view in the evening. Seven Eleven (open 24 hour) is right across the street. Laundromat + beverage vending machine + free drinking water (grab the water bottle from your room!) are on the 5th, 10th and 15th floors respectively.
The twin room is a little tight for 2 persons. The bath area can get crowded in the evening and get not-so-clean quickly. The water cooler dispenser at the Onsen needs to be refilled/replaced frequently during the busy hours.

The onsen is sensational.
The beds are small. The rooms are small. The design of the double rooms are poor as the person sleeping near the window knocks the window blind when they roll over in bed- which wakes up both people.

Food is good and tasty.
Room size is a bit small, book earlier for the suite room and everything would be just perfect.

Had the perfect atmosphere to relax in after walking the city all day. Small cozy rooms with a wonderful view!

Great location within walking distance of the main part of Shinjuku. Clean and stylishly modern. We only stayed one night so didn’t get around to using the rooftop onsen.
Rooms were smaller than we had expected. We had 2 large suitcases which made the entry area very cramped.

We liked the style and design of the property and the staff were very friendly and helpful.
It was a bit dusty, and as my partner and I both have allergies it was a little uncomfortable. Apart from that, everything was perfect!

Really enjoyed the room and Tabi socks provided. Sheets were very comfortable.
Was so excited for the pre-booked breakfast however unfortunately it wasn’t tasty, very interesting to eat but the components were either too salty, or too sweet. Nothing was seasoned or properly balanced. The ONSEN also smelt like chlorine but was nice to sit for a while. Would’ve just preferred a rooftop pool with no gender segregation.

Amazing place for an onsen in the city
Rooms are bit small

It is not the first time we stay here. Nothing changed since pre Covid times and this is a plus. My favourites are panorama view from the room and Onsen on top of the building.
Be ready for super small rooms.

the public onsen has good facilities. The view from that area is stunning. For a city area, will recommend for the price.
the room can be too small for some ppl. But i feel it is still acceptable. The walk from the train station can be a little far. About 10 to 15 mins.

General “kishi” of everything
It was a little tight. But to be honest we were expecting it.

Beautiful details in the entire design of this hotel. Loved the full-width window by the bed. Onsen on the top (18th) floor overlooks the neighbourhood. Surprised there weren't more people taking advantage of it. Yuen absolutely exceeded my expectations.

True to the ryokan category, this hotel is an absolute gem, an exceptionally nice place to stay (for this price tag) in Tokyo. The view is indeed amazing, both daytime and evening, the outdoor pool on the picture is really like that in real life. Staff was very helpful and speaking English (mostly:), the amenities very very nice - not the first time I wondered why this hotel has only 3 stars. It is a bit off from the Shinjuku madness, which in my eyes was a plus, although the nearest metro station is a bit of a walk away. Shinjuku Gyoen is really close though, do visit. :)
We booked a 'double room with small double bed' for myself and my husband - I would say the bed was fine, but the room was so small, you could hardly open 2 suitcases. It's nothing surprising in Japan, but if you need more space, you might want to look at the bigger rooms.

Everything was fine.
Staff was a little inexperienced.

The location and the onsen. The outdoor onsen views at night in the cold winter is just amazing.
The tiny bathroom and the shower was just a bit tight and I can see it being more of a struggle to those who are large.

We stayed here on our last night in Japan and I’m so glad we did! The location is easy to get to; within walking distance from Shinjuku station. It’s right opposite a 7/11, too, which is great for snacks and any essentials you might need. It’s an unassuming building from the outside but when you walk through the curtains and step inside it feels like another world. The atmosphere is so calm and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We booked a high room with a view and was not disappointed! Highly recommend a trip to the onsen which has beautiful views and an inside and outside bath. There are even little ice pops to enjoy afterwards! Overall a stunning stay and would highly recommend!
Wish we’d have stayed longer!

Rooftop onsen open til 2am was amazing, views over Tokyo
Size of the room was just about adequate. If we'd gone for a smaller room it wouldn't have worked with 2 of us with 2 large bags

Every detail is perfect. I would come back without hesitation.

The view was great. I also loved the Onsen as well as all the amenities.
The onsen was relatively small and there wasn’t a meal plan that I could order on booking.com.

friendly and attentive staff, high quality build with attention to details, expressive and well maintained onsen, impressive views
observed many visible particles floating in the room with the lights on and dust bunnies above the mens onsen mirrors, resulting in my partner needing to see a doctor for asthma treatment.. recommend yuen consider HEPA filters and deep dust removal 🙂

staff were very friendly! the room was tight but enough space for the two of us. we were worried about the air conditioning going into our stay but had no problems at all and were there in the middle of summer.

The ryokan had a very pleasant entrance and reception area that set a good tone for the stay. The room, although small, was well laid out and equipped with everything we needed. It was clean and well maintained. We enjoyed using the onsen which has a great view especially at night.
The ryokan is a little too far from the station to walk when carrying a lot of luggage (so chose to take a taxi), but fine to walk into Shinjuku at other times.

Comfortable and stylish accommodation. Good-size room with comfortable bed, clean bathroom and air-conditioning (we were there in the heat of summer and were kept cool). Friendly staff at the desk, manned 24/7 which was helpful as we had a very late check in. The hotel was happy for us to drop our bags off early and leave them for a few hours after check-out given our flight was later in the day.
The hotel was roughly a 10 minute walk from the nearest train station, which might be difficult for some to navigate, especially with luggage and in the heat of summer.
6.0
The location was okay, a bit an uphill climb was the main train station
The air conditioner is "centrally controlled" at a temperature the hotel chooses. While we normally set the airco pretty high in the hotels we stay in, like at 27/28 at day time or off, and 25/26 at night, the temperature in our room was much higher. This can be okay for us and you, but then again, don't advertise the room as being with airco. .... The hotel should advertise with: no airco, slightly cooler than outside. <- this review was written in summer with an outside temperature at night of around 28/29 degrees Celsius
